I absolutely love your channel. My dad is Mexican and my mom is White. So grew up all over the place as far as food. My dad's family taught my mom a lot of basics so for being American she can whip out some good enchiladas and friojles. So my MOM actually taught me the Mexican dishes she was taught by my dads ex wife and family. But after we move to Minnesota we are ISOLATED (from good Mexican food...lol...u know Taco John's just doesn't cut it!) So anyways I am always looking to expand on my already limited knowledge of good Mexican dishes! And u showed me and my sister (her name is Estrella! U cant tell I'm Mexican cuz I married a white guy and have white babies..((I love my white babies))and my last name went from being Mexican to Hanson! So most are shocked when I tell them I'm half Mexican. But I was actually named after Amanda Miguel my dads favorite singer when I was born. My mom still has one of her record albums! (Yes my middle name is Miguel) anyways enough about me...I just want to say that watching you reminds me of may family that is so far away and I feel like watching you has brought me back to my roots! So thank you for that! ❤❤❤❤❤Lots of love from Minnesota p.s. I get to go visit my daddy in Tijuana this spring so I am excited about that and cant wait to have some Carnitas!...(u should do a video on carnitas.)

Hi Stephanie and Cloud, I love your wonderful recipes. I was born and raised in Lubbock, Texas and moved to Virginia 34 years ago. I have missed good Mexican food for years and now I am making your recipes and sharing with my family and friends. Thank you for sharing these treasured recipes. We are eating happy in Virginia!! Everyone here thinks I am a rock star with my cooking. lol
An immersion blender works wonderfully for refried beans. Asked for one for Christmas last year. It’s changed my life for soups too

I personally wouldn’t use an immersion blend blender. It creams way too much and good refried frijoles have texture of some of the beans not being totally crushed.

@@DedeSoulchild I actually take out a cup of the beans before I blend and add them back in after so I get some chunks. But hey, everyone likes things differently. I was just saying what I like to do.
This is the best video Ive seen on making Mexican beans! Went straight to the point and not a long video! Thank you 💪🏻
I just made my first Peruvian beans today just like you made your pinto beans! They came out great! I added pork rinds to my refried beans and made a burrito. It was so dang good!!

DELICIOUS AF! oof Mexican food and Italian food is my FAVORITE I grew up with my neighbors/best friends and they would always have me over to eat and those flavors really hold onto you for life. its a litteral life long craving. nothing is better than authentic deliciousness. periodddddddd.
I just used a metal spatula to mash my beans n it worked. I keep coming back to this recipe to make the beans. I love Mexican food!
Made these last night and separated the liquid from the beans after they cooled. Then I refrigerated them and put them together this morning, heated and mashed. Amazing. Also set some aside in the freezer with liquid. You are right, no additional seasoning necessary. Really good.
"Smell-O-Vision" Ahh yess when you have a good cook in the kitchen it always feels like home❤ I dont have this so I do appreciate your videos so much that even a 52yr old remain a student in the kitchen...
Best authentic Mexican cooking channel hands down . Thank you for all the amazing recipes you share. God bless you
Your confidence has skyrocketed. I love your growth. These beans are exceptional amd just what we needed to go with our biscuits for breakfast.
Finally! An authentic bean recipe I love. Thanks for sharing. Love it!!

So idk why but this is my first time cooking beans “Mexican style” and your video just made me smile throughout the entire thing. So that is why I chose to subscribe. Thanks for making your video. Never had a grandmother to teach me how to cook and by no means am I calling you a grandmother but you are definitely someone who makes cooking look enjoyable. Thanks again.
This is such a fantastic easy to use recipe. This is the second time I’m making the beans in 2 weeks.
Delicious recipe! My family loved it. Thank you!
Thank you! Excellent demonstration! Looks delicious. I’ve never tried making these, but I’m going to try it. I fell in love with your little fur baby! So precious!💕👍
Thank you. Single dad. My mom taught me a lot a whole lot but i always love to learn new stuff. Thanks again.
My daughter and my grandson will NOT eat refried beans, especially canned. I made your recipe, and not only will they eat it, but they beg me to make more! I was so shocked by my daughters' reaction. 😅 Thank you so much. We love your recipes.

Thank you for this! Always wanted to have a great recipe for refried beans! My mom had abean pot just like that, she used it for a plant because it had a crack down the side! I have never seen one actually used for cooking.. 😉
Omg!!! I just discovered your channel and I’m obsessed ❤️. I want to do all your recipes 😝. Thank you for sharing them girlfriend 😘
That was easy. A Cuban lady that I know used to make her beans like that even though in the Caribbean we don’t make beans like that, When I saw her mashing the beans “what are you doing to those beans”? Turns out she would mash her beans because her grandson didn’t like to see the beans on his plate.
I love these recipes!! This lady is the best!!
Thank you so much for your videos..my husband and I enjoy them and love what we learn from you girls!
Found your video and tried this recipe today. It was SO good! Thank you for sharing!
I just discovered your channel today and I love it! Youre really good at showing us real step by step recipes for bomb af food. I'm trying out your enchilada recipe right now. And yes crazy me is gonna add this refried bean recipe to add into my enchiladas!
Just absolutely great recipes !
Love your bean pot. Great instructions.
Thanks for this recipe I made it and put it in my sweet potato-dillas. I didn't use oil, used my blender and pressured the beans to make it quick. It is really yummy by itself😊👍🏿
Excellent job lady! I love the spices, the "more the merrier."
Yum! I love that you add salt when cooking your beans. There’s a misconception that adding salt while cooking beans will toughen them up...not true and they are much tastier when you do add salt to the cooking water. I’m a newer subscriber and look forward to going through your catalogue of videos!
First of all, THIS RECIPE/VIDEO is everything! You were straight to the point, didn't overcomplicate your instructions and were so relatable and relaxing to watch. That being said. I have made these now a bunch of times. How many people is this supposed to serve? My family of four smashes through them. Also, is there a good way to prepare ahead of time? Plan on bringing them to a party serving 20-30 ppl. Now I'm off to see if you did a rice video 😉 hope to hear back from you! Thanks for being amazing!
Thank you Steph! I’m sooo happy I came across your page 😊
Thank you so much! I made this recipe tonight and everyone loved it, even my picky eater that doesn’t like beans!
These look so good I’m making them tonight😋 thank you so much for sharing!
You are my "Go To" gal now. I Love your Pup- he looks a lot like my Bandit! Thank you so very much for all you do.
This looks soooo good.
Love re-watching "old Steph" vids!!
thank you always wanted to make mine own, your recipe was the one finally followed!
Love them pinto frijoles. I'm going to try adding the onion and Chile for a better taste. My Mom always told me when transferring the beans from the pot to the pan with oil not to let the spoon touch the oil. The beans left in the pot will spoil quickly if oil is introduced. Not sure if it's true but I'm always careful about that
I was watching your 30k video and I've watched how to make everything else, I had to come see how you make the beans. All of your food looks AMAZING❤️

My son had a friend down from us and they moved here from Old Mexico and he would go over there and hang out and he said Mom she made the best beans and I know now why they were home made. Made with love! She had a daughter that had the cutest little girl I babysit her a couple of times she was so sweet I miss that baby!!
Made your recipe this weekend and it was delicious! What I have been doing wrong all these years is not boil the garlic and the onion with my beans like you did. That absolutely made it! Fried my onion and jalapeños in some bacon fat and used an immersion blender. Great recipe. Thank you.
Your instructions are so easy to follow, unlike most. Thank you for sharing your talents. Mine turned out exactly like tours.. well maybe not exactly!
That just looks so delicious!
Dude I love watching you 😂 but you also always make me hungry lmao. The food you make takes me back to my childhood with all my family. Puts a huge smile on my face. If you ever need a tester to try your food I’m down lol.
Great recipe, different than we’ve always made them but everybody loves ‘em! Thank you ma’am from Central Texas.
Thank you for showing the correct MASHED ! I HAVE SEVERAL THAT DID NOT WORK. I ALSO APPRECIATE that I didn't have to wait while you diced, and got ingredients ready. Quick and DELICIOUS BEANS! WE HAD THEM FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER AND LATER WITH CHIPS WHILE WATCHING TV. YOU ARE GREAT !!!!! RECEIPE IS DELICIOUS. THANK YOU 😘

Thank you do much for the recipe looks so good and easy to make ☺️
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for posting
I love your bean pot! This recipe looks amazing, Thank you! Blessings from Ohio
I’m incorporating more beans into my diet and to be honest. I never paid much attention to refried beans. Because of the variations of how to make it. I decided to try again. Oh my gosh. I can’t get enough of refried beans! They are so delicious!!!! I just scarfed 8 RB tacos. I love onions and introducing your dog was an added bonus❤
I watched your latest recipe, frijoles charro today. I was going to comment that "if you don't like onions, why are you making this dish," since you told viewers they could leave the onions out. I didn't comment because, well, I had to pour more wine. But I love that you said it in this video!
Good Heavens. This looks absolutely delicious. Thank you for sharing Queen
Yummmm! Thanks for the links!

when do you put the bacon fat in?
@theresahoffman7444
4 жыл бұрын
@@deborahv.169, I melt the bacon fat, a couple of tablespoons or more, depending on the amount of beans. When the bacon fat is melted and hot, I add my beans and then mash them till creamy. Then I simmer till beans are incorporated and start to bubble. Then add your cheese of choice.

@@deborahv.169 All vegetable oils are extremely bad for your health first of all. Second, using bacon fat or lard really makes them taste fantastic and authentic. Vegetable oil gives zero flavor and it'll kill you.

👍👍👍Lard or bacon fat is the ONLY way to make authentic Mexican style beans. Once you abandon the lard, you abandon the Mexican. Not hate'n. Just state'n. Awesome video still. 😁 Vegetable oil is a modern day creation that will one day be seen for what it is... a Frankensteinian poison.
Thank you for this recipe! I love refried beans. From the Pima Tribe, I grew up with beans as a staple with every meal. I could never get the yummy taste my Grandmother that had. I cant wait to make this recipe! Much appreciation!
Looks yummy. I’m gonna try to make them. Love your glasses 👓 and the cute bean pot.

I love your videos. Thank you so much for all the great recipes! Your dog is SOOOO cute!!!! 💖💖💖💖
Thank god! I just moved to England and they don't have refried beans anywhere. I'm excited to make my own
Refried beans are life. I love to refry them with Manteca. And like to use peruano beans.
Next time you make beans , try it with ham hocks. Add them 1st let them boil for @ 20-30 min. before adding the frijoles. And when you refry them chop 4 beacon strips fry to your desire then add los beans..
