You can get the same effect with an odd loaded dumbell

Excellent! Do you think 15 is too heavy to work with? I have 5 and 15 pound clubs, but no 10s.

If you have dumbbells that take plates, I wonder if making the weight unequal on each side would work

In this example, couldn't you just move your hand over from the center of mass on a dumbbell by an inch and get the same effect as a club?

It is said that this technique was invented by none other than Sri Hanuman, the Hindu God of Strength and Might. Westerners might be more familiar with the Chinese character Sun Wukong, which was directly inspired by the legends of Sri Hanuman. In Indian lore, no being till date is known to have used the War Club, or Gadaa/Mugdar, in battle as efficiently as Sri Hanuman. Seeing him fight was like seeing an artist at his work, with the battlefield as his bloody canvas being painted with the blood of his enemies.

I was just on a business trip and knew the hotel gym would be sparse, so I brought a 15lbs heavy club because that was about the biggest thing I was willing to put in a suitcase. I literally invented everything he said by screwing around with the club, then rushed out to see if I had discovered something unique. 4 years too late it turns out

You would be about hundreds of years if not a thousand years late. If you read the description it says Indian clubs and are used in Kushti training and palwan. The name of the clubs is gada but different Indian states may have different names to them.

...or you could just hold the DB off-center. Less potential rotational torque yes, but you also don't have to buy a new implement.
