honestly after prerelease, im gonna say it, the 1 mana red instant that gives +2/+0 and a monster role token was absolutely phenomenal, it won me games several times in a WR celebration deck to go undefeated all tournament long.

For real!! My local shop is already selling boosters so obviously I bought a box and that's a GREAT card! There's also a one mana Green that gives your creature Hexproof for the turn and the +1/+1 Role token with Trample

Did you see WotC preview the rat goose hybrid chimera card for the 2025 set Even Wilder Eldraine?

Coming straight out of prerelease, where I won every match except one which I drew on, with the slowest blue/black deck you could imagine, Beluna's Gatekeeper is a beast of a card. There are not a ton of cards that can stand up to a 6/5 in this set at all. Also, doubt it would qualify anywhere near for this list, but Collector's Vault did a TON of work in that deck as well. Genuinely saw well over half of my deck every game just because of that card alone

Collectors vault is boss. The treasure making and instant speed on top of the looting makes it so good for control decks in general

I really appreciate this video coming out between you actually play testing and the set releasing on Arena

What I love about Cooped Up is that you can activate it’s ability and then use an instant speed Bargain spell and sac it to that spell before the exile resolves.

Giving Gingerbrute hero trait makes him a beast, talking with experience.

I did two pre-release with Jund Rats/low drops, and impact tremors did a lot for me in both of those, I somehow lucked into having both impact tremors and Song of Totentanz, and this card synergistic crazy well, I was able to burst out 16 damage in one turn to win the game.

Going to prerelease in a few hours, cheers y'all!

Great flavour text on the Minecart Daredevil

At my prerelease I managed to copy virtue of loyalty with yenna, redtooth regent. I only went 2-1 but that was a pretty sick combo to pull off.

that white uncommon saga (Princess Takes Flight) that exiles creature kept crushing me. blinking it bargaining it / punishes you because its effect doesnt let thing return unless hits 3rd chapter

I think the thing that won me the most games by far was the 3R instant that costs 1 less to cast for each creature that attacked this turn and deals 5 damage to a creature. Casting it felt so good every time.

Surprised obyra's attendants wasn't in your top 3 blue commons, you seemed pretty high on it in the set review. I do think belunas gatekeeper is a great common though, it ruined me multiple times at the prerelease cause a lot of my cards made knight tokens. It's really disgusting against hopeful vigil in particular your on the draw and gatekeeper is oyur turn 2 play which bodes well for the card cause hopeful vigil is fantastic as well.

Hi! I have a question. Can you bargain a Cooped Up you on an opponent's creature and exile said creature in response with Cooped Up's ability?

Other way around. You can bargain with the cooped up exile trigger on the stack

Yeah other way around, put the exile trigger on the stack, then respond to it by bargaining. Since bargain is an additional cost you to cast the spell there's no window after you start casting it and paying the cost to active the exile ability.

Yeah, I got skunked at prerelease - 0-6 with Gruul Round 1 & Golgari round 2 & 3. Anyone else struggle with removal & card draw this format? I only opened 4 draw cards in my pre-release, & most of my stuff was in either Black, Green, or Red.

I played gruul and went 7-2, the red removal is a lot better than it looks in my experience. Straight up card draw is a little tough to find, but the card advantage is there with adventures

I feel like you might be over rating the snaremaster sprite unless the format ends up being super aggro, which would surprise me. Yes, it has really nice tempo but as far as value its a whole card for a 1/1 flier. Seems like it might be a liability if you dont quickly win

Was that blue saga a rare? I would have thought you’d rate it highly, but maybe it isn’t common/uncommon idr

Limited is so strange to me as a mostly casual player. You have to play it mostly competitively and yet you have to play cards so bad that I wouldn't even use them in kitchentable... Yet here they're good 😂 I'll try one prerelease event using your guidelines.

@@kikiisonfire1217 That's not gonna happen to me, I never drafted (I mean competitively) and this will only be my 5th and most likely last prerelease. I just still can't wrap my head around the fact that I have to play vanilla creatures sometimes and consider them as "good picks" here 😂

I will say from this prerelease experience this seems like a really solid and powerful limited environment. The adventures and roles really start to feel like I'm getting more value out of every card

Gatekeeper is hard counter to gruff triplets

Can't believe that the furry card is one of White's best commons.

Why did you add multicolored or colorless?

@@sofiar.r.9063Generous gift would be totally unplayable in a premiere draft format. Stroke of midnight is certainly better but it's still very difficult to not end up behind on cards with it especially given how many creatures generate additional value via adventures, etbs and so on. It's a fine card but this was a pretty major lesson from streets of new capenna draft, when removal leaves a dude behind in limited it's way worse than it looks on paper.

It's not that good in Limited, cards that remove something and give the opponent back a body are never ideal. It's definitely playable, but very, very far from being White's best Uncommon.

11 minutes in and it's wild how off the predictions for best cards were. Makes me suspect of the Ixalan Best C/U video.

It is always hard to be perfect only a couple drafts in. I don't think any of my picks in this were wildly off-base in the end, but yeah, they wouldn't be the same at the end of the format. And I did worse in this one than in any of the others I have done.

how about simply a written list instead of 30 minutes of rambling?
