The BEST Cities For An Expansion Team

Спорт

Rob Manfred has said that he hopes for an MLB expansion of at least two teams before he retires in 2029. With that in mind, let's look at the 5 best cities for expansion. Nashville, Charlotte, Salt Lake City, Portland, Montreal, Mexico City, and others are all candidates with a few having a better chance.

The thing about Vancouver is that they’d need to make a new stadium somewhere which is highly unlikely as there’s more profit in having housing than a baseball stadium. We wouldn’t be able to have an outside stadium because it rains to much during summer seasons which has kinda stopped in recent years but still. Itd be Montreal before Vancouver in my opinion.

6:30 - you said San Antonio has a smaller market than Salt Lake City? San Antonio has a much larger metro area, almost the size of St. Louis, while SLC’s metro area is slightly larger than Grand Rapids. San Antonio is also close enough to Austin that is would add substantially to their fan base.

Brooklyn. That's right. NYC supported 3 teams during the 1950s and the city is even bigger and better now. Brooklyn would absolutely support a MLB team.

Really ? So would Yankees fans & Mets fans support this new MLB franchise ? Or would they be able to attract new fans to baseball from all across the state of NY ? 🤔

They have 2 already. The Mets & The Yankees. Does NY State really need more than two MLB teams like the five they currently have in California ?

At this point some teams should move instead of adding more teams. Pittsburgh hasn't had a good team in over 30 years. The Brewers could leave, the Twins as well. Tampa Bay doesn't support the Rays. The As are the As. Personally I think if a team doesn't have a certain winning percent after about 30-40 years the franchise should be forced to sell.

None of those teams want to leave. And moving teams generates little revenue.

@fantasticvoyage262 well obviously the As do. There were talks about moving the Twins years ago. Yes, moving teams doesn't generate revenue but that's the problem with many owners. You can field a terrible team year after year and the value of the franchise will steadily go up. Look at the Marlins. I'd rather have the league force ownership changes than to just have terrible teams for generations. But that's just me, no one cares what I think lol.

@@quiveringmoist7558 The Athletics are the only team that wants to leave. But does anyone want them? The Las Vegas mayor doesn't even want them. And Fisher is too broke to pay for his stadium. Twins are in a fairly new stadium. They aren't going anywhere.
