The Best CarPlay Radio Under $100 | Single Din 6.9in Ebay Radio

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today we install this Cheap Ebay radio into my Jeep and it's actually good! I paid around $90 after taxes. Comes with CarPlay which is exactly what I wanted! The radio runs on Android and I haven't noticed any issues is about a month+ of use. Now I did have an issue with not being able to program the up and down button on the right side of the steering wheel but the middle button did program. The left side all the buttons worked. The radio doesn't have any physical buttons but it does have a button on screen that gives you the home volume and other options. Overall I do recommend this radio after installing and using it. Shoutout to Steven who sent me the link to it!

The steering wheel buttons work as a resistor, the stock radio looks at the specific voltage it is receiving through that red/yellow wire and decided what to do based on that. Stock, it sends 5v to the factory radio all the time and the buttons lower that voltage which tells the radio what you want to do. Unfortunately, a lot of cheaper aftermarket radios are looking for 3.3v through the SWC wire and can't recognize anything above that. The reason the left buttons and the middle button on the right work is because they are lowering the voltage enough to drop below 3.3v and the radio can use that signal. the two rocker buttons on the right barely lower the voltage below 5v and thus, aren't recognizable by your head unit. I threw a small 10k pot resistor on my red/yellow wire and rotated the dial until I was getting 3.3v coming out of the wheel controls with no buttons pressed. That way, every button will be recognizable by your head unit. I know this can sound kind of confusing, but that's why only part of your wheel controls are working.

This video looks pretty cool, but what kind of speakers would be the best to go with a radio

@@NajarOffroad I wish I could use my stock speakers but those have been replaced very long ago and since they went out I've been using different brands throughout the years

@@rayjimenez7869 There's many car audio speakers to pick & choose from out there that you really can't go wrong with. However, one of the best bang for your buck speakers IMO are "JBL" speakers. Not only are JBL's competitively priced, but the build & sound quality of their speakers are some of the best you can get. JBL's been in business making audio speakers since 1902 which speaks for itself. (pun intended) 😂 I've been using JBL's in my car's & band P.A. systems for years & they haven't let me down yet. So, if the vibe & energy in music is what you're looking for I'd suggest you listen to your jams through speakers who've been proven to be one of the best speakers in the business for sure my friend. Just saying... Let's keep it a buck, ya dig? 🤘😉🤘 +Peace & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul+

I know it's a bit late but here's my initial thoughts on it after I installed it in mine. You are DEFINITELY getting what you pay for with it, it's an $80 Chinese head unit. The setup was finicky and a little confusing, but I eventually figured it out. The lack of physical buttons is also sorely missed, the volume knob not being physical makes changing the volume without the remote somewhat difficult (I also do not have steering wheel controls). My final issue with the radio is that there is little to no bass when playing music through any means, and I am not very sure why. I'm not sure I would buy this again, I would rather spend double or triple the money and get something much nicer for my Jeep. I also found that it will overheat and shut off if the heat is left on too high for too long, due to the vents being directly under the radio.
