Great video!! I have a 3000 Watts RMS system and I’m planning to order one of those batteries. Do I need to delete the OEM batt? And for how long can I play music at full power with a 120 alt combined with that batt? Thank you in advance.

Also, that depends on the music. These change more quickly than a lead acid, so they can pick up amperage pretty quickly between beats etc. they also hold their voltage very well during the entire discharge cycle.

2008 550i. I disconnected the ground on my ibs long ago to stop charging at 15v on an agm I dropped in.

You *can*, but we don't recommend using them under the hood. Maximum temperature rating is about 140F. If your OEM location doesn't get hotter than that (and you can verify with a heat gun or thermal imager?) then you're golden.

Definitely not supporting a 8k amp with that amount of dropping into the low 12s with under 4k 😬

@@GloweIndustries my point is that your not drawing 8k in this video and still dropping so low. So with that being said I highly doubt that this single battery can support 8k

I personally run 2 banks of Maxwell 2.7 super caps on my 2 60ah chem batts and it doesnt move on a 8k. Adding caps to your system helps tremendously especially on new tech batts

Those blue prismatic cells are NOT designed to supply large instantaneous currents that audio amps require. Headway cells are FAR superior for that, and that is what they are designed to do, doesn't matter if they are used or new.

@@GloweIndustries GV-S1 are prismatic cells, GV-S2 are pouch cells. They are storage type batteries like the Li Time mini that sells for $379. Headway batteries are FAR superior for large instantaneous currents.

@@gregb1714 The S1 have an IR per cell of .35. They are rated at 5c constant current. (450a) I’m not sure why you’d assume prismatic aren’t ever made as high discharge cells. Lishen has some 8.5a prismatics rated at 30c.. @@GloweIndustries I was talking about the cells INSIDE the GV-S1 & GV-S2, the title of this video. The BMS inside these will die soon because these storage batteries are not rated for high burst currents. Headway cells are rated at 200Amps continuous EACH. Typical headway battery 4S8P configuration with bus bars would give 8 x 200A = 1600Amps. Sorry, a headway battery is superior and cheaper! Storage batteries are designed for 12V appliances (RVs) or for solar power walls, not for audio amps.
