    Good list, however I'm not sure on the Peugeot, due to it being French, which means that local parts are very hard to come by French cars don't have very good reliability... Some other cars that I'd look at for under $12.5k, include: - XR5 Turbo (lol) - VW GTI - Falcon - Commodore

    Thanks for your comment Martin, I did want to add the XR5, Golf, Falcon and Commodore but I featured them in the previous video so it seemed a little too similar, hence why I went with some lesser known cars. I agree with your point on the Peugeot but after a bit of digging that specific platform seems to be fairly reliable as long as it’s regularly maintained and looked after at a dealership or mechanics workshop. If you have any other video suggestions or content you’d like to see on the channel please let me know, thank you 🙌🏼

    @@TheGearChange Yep no worries 👍 Maybe the Peugeot's are reliable, it's personally just the lack of support in Australia that would scare me off one of these... Even the XR5's have their quirks and XR5 specific parts aren't the most widely available...

    @@MartinJones123 I totally agree with you on the lack of support, it probably wouldn’t be a favourite on this list but I think it was a worthy mention. And that is true there are a few parts that are getting quite hard to find with the XR5’s and other cars from the same era 👌🏼

    I’m a puegeot 207 Gti driver on my p plates, it’s honelsty easier and cheaper to just pay for a custom exhaust made for your car in stead of shipping if firm Europe, but you can get a lot of support for the puegeots, but more rally intended modifications, but parts for puegeots are hard to find but they are cheap asf, keyword right here if your going to buy a puegeot in Australia.. a wreckers is your best thing for parts

    Oh wow I didn’t know that in the UK that’s how P plates worked over there, that’s really interesting. So in terms of restrictions there is nothing based on the cars power and weight that would stop you from being able to drive it as a young driver?. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment as well, I really appreciate it 😁

    Not going to lie the 207, 206, and 306 Gti would be the better choices IMO as their isn’t as much aftermarket support compared to the older Gti’s plus I believe theirs even a wide body kit you can buy form Europe for the 207 Gti, tho one thing with the puegeot 207 Gti not too sure about the other models but they have incredibly heavy flywheels so using the the clutch can be tiring

  • @TheGearChange

    @TheGearChange

    They definitely seem to be favourable choices in my eyes, but I do believe I have seen the widebody kit you are mentioning which looks awesome. A lighter flywheel sounds like it would be a worthwhile upgrade for them then. Thanks for leaving a comment and some feedback on the Peugeot's 👌🏼

    @@TheGearChange yeah i believe it’s a super 2000 body kit for the 207 which is used amonst rally teams, plus a common thing people do with their Peugeot 207 gti is swap the 6 speed gearbox from the 208 into the 207, plus the puegeot gti’s are cars that pretty powerful for p platers and they don’t have much of a reputation you could say with cops, only issue is in my case because I’m the only one in my town with one everyone hates me because they see this grey French hatchback with a loud exhaust going through traffic😅

    I own a xr4 with LSD, lowered suspension, sway bar, short shift, exhaust and super chips tune just to name a few mods. My xr5 would destroy it in a straight line but I haven't come across a car on the road without coilovers that handles better.

    @@m34275hahaha literally 1984 tho I’m not going to lie I like that p platers are restricted to a certain power to weight ratio as it forces you to get better driving a slower car, as putting a 18 yr old 600hp mustang like that’s just putting him in a deaf sentence especially if all his driven is a Corrolla or a patrol, tho I do reckon it should increased to 150kw/t instead if 130kw/t
