also for hedge funds, there's no strict working hours as you are expected to keep yourself up to date in the markets in your free time. Which is why hedge funds mainly attract those passionate about the markets.

My wife and I we are both retired with over $2 million in net worth and all paid off debts. living smart and frugal with our money, made it possible for us this early, even till now we earn passively with our asset coach. Excellent choices having a great savings and more streams to earn makes life goal’s easier but our way of life needs better alternative,at the same time, people also need to be more responsible. I know for a fact that there's a lot of people that simply don't make enough, I make roughly hundred plus a year and in California, rent inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make, with dependents and other obligations included, it's easy to end up with zero. however it’s a good time to add to existing asset holdings as follow -on opportunities

@Joe Robert. I firmly believe everyone striving for financial independence should own both stocks and real estate. The percentage weighting of each asset class as part of your portfolio will then be up to you to decide. At least with stocks, when the market is plunging, you can sell, albeit at a loss. Lots of people couldn't sell their real estate, couldn't afford to sell in 2007-2011.

You know, most of the IB/career stuff goes over my head because it's not really my forte (not that I'd call stocks/crypto my forte either hahaha), and I usually just try to lend support through a comment and a like even if I don't know what's going on (lol), but this was really entertaining and informative because it comes up a lot on KZread/Reddit, etc. The 3 often get thrown around in online discourse, so it's cool to be able to distinguish between both! Really cool, and I appreciate the effort you put into this. I hope the people that need it most get to watch it. And hey, maybe while all your friends are in banking, you'll be relaxing on a beach in Tahiti with a successful company and a reduced schedule. I'll take being a weird KZread guy over the other scenario 😅 And totally irrelevant, but I liked the morning lighting!

Hey Ben, first of all... thank you for your great content. Because of your videso i really do understand the whole field of IB, PE & Co a lot better. I am currently in my last semster of my Bachelors in Economics over here in Germany. After that i am gonna add a finance master on top. It would be an amazing opportunity to win FE's online course because than i would be able to connect all the theory from university with the practical skills from people out of the industry. I think it would give me great headstart for my next internships. Keep up the great work and stay safe! :)

In Korea, Buy side refers to those asset owners like pension plan, SWF, insurance companies etc. Those HF, VC, PEF are asset managers and place between buy side and sell side. They should offer to asset owners to buy their imvestment idea so in that context, they are sell side

Excellent content as always! Could you also do a video on how (or if) people without formal training (i.e., degrees) in finance or econ could enter this sector? I'm a medical student myself and I'm considering a pathway of self-educating on relevant subjects in finance/econ and then ending up focusing on the financials of health-related industries (if there is such a thing/position) in the companies you've mentioned in this video.

You’d have to go do an MBA. To get into IB/PE/Consulting or high finance… you’ll need to get into at least a top 25 MBA program.

Hey Ben! Thanks for all of the informative videos you've provided us, especially the modeling livestreams. I'm interested in the FE courses because I'd like to further build my understanding in what is needed in IB and PE. I'm currently a senior in finance and will be going into IB this summer. Thanks for all you do!

Hi Ben, thanks for the great content, I have only just come across your channel and have already racked up a few hours! I am currently enduring my finals for my undergraduate degree and hope to get a role in IB/ AM in London this summer (if all goes to plan). Your videos have provided me with amazing insight into choosing/ filtering my career path and would like to thank you for the time and effort spent on them. Moreover, I would love to be entered into the Financial Edge giveaway (The Investment Banker course) as it would provide such resourceful information and hopefully land me my dream job! :-)

Hey! I only recently started watching your videos as I have always been keen on consulting but I never knew Investment Banking entailed so much finance. I am a second year bachelor and will do an internship in consulting this summer, but as I have a keen passion for finance, I want to explore my interest in IB further. For that reason, the courses of FE would be the perfect start! If you don't mind you'll also see me popping up on your linkedin :)

Great video. I have realised that I learn more from watching videos than reading theory online. Yesterday I had an interview with BNY mellon and it did not go as planned. I do not want to give up and I believe that considering how young I am, I can reach pretty ahead if I commit further using the right tools, in this case the course from Financial edge. I do not have previous financial experience but I will do everything it takes to commit more and more into this sector. I would highly value the investment banker course and I believe that it would definitely come to great use for my next interview. Cheers and thank you for making these videos. We really appreciate your work.

FYI mega fund private equity 1st year associate comp is ~$350-$400k nowadays (video quotes $150-$300k). And usually all cash/no carry, but some of the public MFs will pay in stock above a certain $ (e.g., KKR does this above ~$150k bonus I think).

Hi Ben ! I rarely comment on KZread, but I wanted to congratulate you for the good videos and community you have created. I am currently a freshman at ESADE (Spain) and I really appreciate the insights you give about IB. If I get the opportunity to win a course from FE, I would give it to my younger brother who is in his senior year of high school and will probably come to study at ESADE. This last year he has been reading about finance and have managed my crypto portfolio, I feel moved to see him with a goal towards which to work and study and, without doubt, FE courses would mean a giant step in his knowledge and future devolopment. Greetings from Spain🙌
