    Coop needs to read recent SYQQ collar reviews and change what he implied here - that they are top tier, but not recommended just because of cost. Many damaged barbells out there already because of his praise here for them... Even for those that do work properly, I saw videos on KZread and they damage the bar by putting little dents in wherever the ball bearings meet sleeves if you drop the bar and stuff like that (putting extra force on those concentrated areas).

    I have the Rogue Metal, Rogue Aluminum, and the Eleiko, and I like them all. I do mostly SBD lifts and never had an issue with any of them. Its nice to have a variety so you can choose based on your mood, lol. The good thing about the Eleiko is the weight. .25kg each adds just over a pound, so if you use a 20kg bar it brings that to just over 45 pounds, which makes calculating weights easier when using your 45 pound plates, and the magnets are unexpectedly useful. Rogue is still my go to brand in general for just about everything, and all three I have are all great collars for my purposes. Love the reviews. Keep 'em coming!

    Coop the one thing you keep forgetting to mention that makes the Oppen collars great is they can be taken off even after you've loaded more plates on the outside of the sleeve. Every workout at least once I forget to take off my collar and load a plate. For any other collar, I have to pull the plate back off. With the Oppen, I just slip the collar off and push the weight flush. Just a nice little way to avoid a very common hassle.

    I workout in my garage, no heater, temps drop below zero during the winter. If you are in a similar boat, id recommend not going with plastic collars as they will easily break in those temps. An all metal design is probably best. I have the magnetic rouge ones that Coop mentions and they have so far held up really well

  • @GavinBrown
    @GavinBrown2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Coop. You mentioned the OSO magnetic collars due to their magnets, but Rogue have also brought out a magnetic version of the Aluminium collars. Slightly different shape, almost a cross between the original OSO collars (which I love) and the Rogue Aluminium collars. Might be good to review them, do they still hold as well, do the magnets scratch etc. Also, any experience with the cerakote versions and wear and tear with use compared to the bare version.

    Have you done a review of axle bar collars? Rogue makes a pair and EliteFTS makes the Shark collar.

    Coop check out the Lock-Jaw Metal collars, they are amazing collars. They beat my Rogue USA Olympic collars by far. Though i mainly powerlift, and for deadlifts i feel like the rogue ones get much looser for heavy sets compared to the lock-jaw.

    Is it the $44 lock jaw metal ones or the lock flex metal ones that are $54? Looking to get a pair.

    Hey Coop! Can you please do a showdown for Rep fitness Urethane dumbbell vs Titan fitness Urethane dumbbells. They seem so similar!

    Good idea. Hears a secret, they’re so similar because they’re the same. And so are Rogues. I’ll do a video 😁

    Can't find any reviews on Lock-Jaw Flex Metal. Would love to see how it fares against Rogue aluminium collars in classic Coop fashion

    What is the bare minimum of sleeve the syqq collars can latch on to? Like can some of it be over lapping the end of the barbell sleeve?

    I have the extremely cheap Amazon ones and it still holds after two years but it is starting to lose grip. I might have to buy those rogue ones do I don’t keep buying them

    My gym has lockjaw hex collars that are at least 4 years old, beat to shit, and they still hold 500+ on the bar no problem

    I have the Eleiko's in the HS Weight Room where I coach. My only issue is the kids have hard time flipping open the lock to get them off the bar.

    I'm looking for a good collar for under $30 to fit my SS Yoke Bar from Elite FTS. Any suggestions? My current ones don't fit tight. Could be age. They're old Hampton's.
