    Aw, missed deadline, will it be being re-released in future? :) Also the one in your vids says ‘Mad Hacker’ but the one on the store says ‘M-HKR’ - why, why, why? Will you do a ‘Mad Hacker’ dial version? Great watch 😊

    36mm without a diver's bezel wears kinda like a 40mm diver. Not small at all, really. Muhammad Ali rocked a miniscule Tank, no reason people with any size wrist can't rock this.

    Well done! You absolutely nailed it! Some really nice details here. Drilled lugs check, hand wind check, 36mm check. Dial design check, domed sapphire glass check, strap check, movement not bad, the only worry I would have is the screw down crown combined with a hand wind, I can see some novice watch owners striping the crown tub threads over time. Make sure to give clear instruction on how to hand wind and screw down the crown. 😊😊😊

    The watch is absolutely stunning but I have a couple of concerns. 1. Mechanical watch + Screw down crown. Unscrewing and screwing the crown roughly every 2 days can lead to the threads wear earlier than it should. 2. An automatic movement turned into a hand-winder. The winding mechanism on automatic is not built the same way it's built on mechanicals and is more fragile and prone to wear. Hand winding on an automatic watch is there to occasionally help out and should by no means be used regularly.

    The difference is that you wind an automatic a couple times to get it going. On a manual wind you have to unscrew the crown everyday to wind it. The treads can be worn out pretty quickly that way. And then you need a new watch.. . 😅

  • @petrokersta5293

    @petrokersta5293

    One doesn’t need to wind an automatic movement for a watch to run as long as you wear it. Manual movement needs to be periodically wound for a watch to run every second day or even daily. It puts a lot more wear on crown and threads.

    hi Russ, Congrats on a lovely collaboration! i love the thought behind it and many of the elements. (my fave dirty dozen, like you, is the Vertex M100A) i’m sure it will do very well and hope you make a few changes (some mentioned) other that the drilled lugs before production. looking forward to your next Video!

    Very well done Russ!👏🏼 I have quite a number of field watches from WW2 thru to Vietnam. So this really ticks my boxes mate! I also have a pretty good collection of WW1 trench watches. Anyway ordered one & now the wait.😎👍🏼🇦🇺

    Well, you've just created a watch I was thinking of doing myselft, i.e. my business has been just killed 😂. Great watch, looking forward to seeing it in person.

    Looks great. 36mm is good for me, for looks and wear - ironically, the thing that put me off of the Vertex M100 was the 40mm size.

    Excellent design and there's loads of 'you' in it, Russ - and that's a major selling point. Purchased one 🙂

    I really like that. My ideal daily is 37 to 39mm with a 20 but I understand. Like the track around the edge. I love the domed sapphire and the indices, including the slight patina. I like the hands. LOVE what you did with the movement. I might have gone with a sterile dial except for a logo. Really nice overall. I'd be undoubtedly be proud to have designed or co-designed this watch.

    Just ordered mine and cant wait for it to arrive, I am intersted to see how it stacks up to my Series 002 pink lemonade. From what I have seen I think the mad hacker is the watch that the series 002 should have been. Congrats on a stunning watch.

    It looks awesome! If I hadn't use - last week - purchased an Elliot Brown as my 'go everywhere, do everything' watch then I may well have pushed the button on this. I hope it goes well for you... good luck!

    Love the unusual numeral font and the perfect length of the minute hand. 36mm is way below my personal sweet spot (8inch wrist). How wide is the glass? I'm wearing a 43.5mm diver today, though I just measured the glass and its only 32mm.

    One detail that was extremely common on field and military watches from the 40s (which NOONE seems to do…) is 5 - 55 minute counters on the dial. The new norm seems to be to just add a fat marker behind the hour numerals instead of 5, 10, 15, etc. I’d LOVE to see more watches with the classic vibe with this detail!

    MWC in rhe dial and no screw in crown and I'd be in rhis in an instant. That case design is literally rhe nicest I've seen on a field watch. I can't put my finger on what it is, but that case design is captivating.

    What a beautiful watch. Very well done. My only notes for criticism are that i wish the lugs were a little bit shorter and less thick, i really like the case & dial to be the star of the show lol. But other than that, im blown away.
