I can definitely understand why you would be hesitant to pick up handwriting again, given your past experience with a mean teacher. However, it's important to remember that writing by hand can have some really amazing benefits. Maybe you could start small and try writing a few sentences by hand each day until you feel more comfortable with it?

I'm sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience with handwriting when you were younger. However, it's worth remembering that our experiences as kids don't necessarily dictate our abilities as adults. It's also been shown to improve fine motor skills, enhance learning and memory, and even help with mental health issues
Thank you for this very insightful and informative talk Ms. McCleary! You're such a delight to watch and I love the message here! Very important for our brain and cognitive processes!

This is a great way to look at it. Also in most the exercises she talks about it seems going slow would be an advantage!

I actually love the idea of creating your own font via handwriting. Nice.

Sometimes it's nice to be slow and messy and you're right I think a certain beauty does emerge from it
Writing anything down - to do lists, notes to self, feelings - whatever it is, it can helps us remember, let go or encourages proccessing!

I like this line of thinking.. maybe I'll write it down! 🤪🤪
Decades ago I enrolled in a calligraphy course, kinda like handwriting on steroids and I loved it. You've inspired me to revisit that, thank you.

My brother once got me a super fancy quill and ink but I never did anything with it...
I'm convinced, I need to start writing by hand ASAP.
The magic of handwriting lies within us. It's a personal expression that can't be replicated by technology
The anecdote about Derek's transformation really hit home. It's amazing how something as simple as handwriting can unlock deeper insights and reshape our perspectives.
Katie, I never thought about the environmental impact of digital devices versus handwriting. Your talk has me thinking about how I can reduce my tech usage and embrace eco-friendly practices.

She has a very warmth and knowledgeable vibe about her. And a great take.
Honestly had no idea creative writing could have an impact on my "life's outcomes". Also had no idea I have outcomes for my life on a to do list somewhere.
I was initially skeptical about the connection between writing by hand and leadership, but Derek's story is quite eye-opening. It's amazing how a simple act like handwriting can bring out such deep introspection and growth in a person.
