3:30 Thanks for watching!
Diatomaceous earth has been around for millions of years. It’s a powder made up of fossilized diatoms. Diatoms are basically algae or phytoplankton.
The unique thing about diatomaceous earth is that it’s loaded with silicon. When silicon is exposed to oxygen, it becomes silica.
Silica is really good for a person’s connective tissues, joints, and bones. Calcium can’t even help you form bone without silica.
You need enough silica to help support bone mineralization and prevent conditions like osteoporosis and osteopenia.
Silica is also essential for your:
• Ligaments
• Tendons
• Cartilage
• Nails
• Hair
• Skin
• Aorta
• Trachea
There are different types of collagen. Silica also stimulates type 1 collagen.
Other potential health benefits of diatomaceous earth:
• It may help get rid of parasites, worms, pathogens, and even E. coli
• It can bind with aluminum and help remove it from the body
How to use diatomaceous earth:
Drink one teaspoon of diatomaceous earth mixed in a glass of water once per day. Over the next three days, you might want to increase it to two teaspoons per day.
Be sure to take it on an empty stomach. To help improve absorption, you can also add apple cider vinegar to the water and diatomaceous earth mixture-or take a few betaine hydrochloride tablets when you take the mixture.
If you’re only trying to build up your connective tissue, you may want to take an orthosilicic acid supplement instead. But, if you want all of the above benefits, give diatomaceous earth a try.

When I worked in a restaurant about 50 years ago we used diatomaceous earth to filter the oil from the chicken broasting machine every night. It came in 50lb bags. I poured some in a paper filter and then ran the oil through it. the brown oil would come out as clear as new oil and with the cooked smell completely removed. Amazing stuff.

Dr. Berg, you need to warn people not to breathe even a minute amount of diatomaceous earth when handling the powder, because the silica (it's like minute glass shards) can cause very serious, chronic breathing problems due to it scarring the tiny alveoli deep in the lungs. It can cause asthma where this was not a prior health condition. A mask should be worn when using it and care should be taken to remove all traces of it from hands and clothes so that none of it is inhaled by the user or any innocent bystanders. Thank you for your advice for its use. I was glad to see it binds to aluminum and flushes it out of the body (a cause of Alzheimer's disease). It eliminates parasites in both humans and animals, and it will kill harmful insects like bedbugs.

HOWEVER, thanks to this video, I will start to incorporate a morning dose of DE for myself and will advise my family of the potential benefits. I haven't seen many comments about the benefits DE has on thin skin. i started using it because at the age 62 I started to get bruising and tearing of my skin and thought i would try. 2 weeks into taking a tablespoon a day. my skin was completely back to normal and I was able to bump my arm and not bruise... I am amazed with what it did for my skin and believe that if on a cellular level it helped my skin. it had to help veins and much more... my blood pressure has always been a little high and now is back to normal. I thank god for this stuff and tell everyone i can about it. many think I'm nuts but between the (cal-amo) for my sciatic pain an the DE for my skin ..I consider my self blessed

My husband had a heavy metal problem and this is a routine practice for him after his chelation. Thank you Doc!!!

I cook their food, so I get the food ready sprinkle DE on the food add a little water. **Safety First! If you choose to use DE in your dog or cat’s food, make sure to mix it in with wet food instead of just sprinkling it on top. You don’t want your pet to inhale the powder and irritate their respiratory system. Also, double-check to make sure it’s food-grade DE. You don’t want to feed your pet DE that is intended for yard and garden use. While it’s the same basic ingredient, it hasn’t been processed in the same way and might contain impurities that are unsafe for your pet to consume. Diatomaceous Earth for Internal Parasites While there isn’t much hard evidence out there, DE may be able to treat internal parasites. Those who use DE for deworming say that it can help eliminate several types of parasites. It can work for internal parasites in the same way that it kills fleas. The FDA approves DE as pest control in food products. It’s often added to stored grain, like corn, and is generally recognized as safe. The FDA requires the testing of food-grade DE to make sure it doesn’t contain dangerous elements like lead, arsenic, or fluorine. You can rest assured that DE is a safe additive to your pet’s diet. To use as a dewormer, simply add a small amount of food-grade DE to your dog’s diet. Approximately 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of DE should be given daily for a month-less for very small dogs and cats, more for very large dogs.

Why not? Well although these will probably kill fleas faster, they are usually not safe for your animals as they often contain other toxic elements such as flea insecticide. Externally after potential flea exposure: Just sprinkle it on your pet’s coat and thoroughly brush it through all their fur before a walk, hike, or other potential flea exposure. You’ll have to do this every time they go outside in a flea-ridden area and apply the DE before they come inside. Note: Be careful when applying it around your dog’s nose, eyes, and mouth. Make sure it’s not drying out or irritating your pup’s skin-if your dog already has dry skin, don’t use it externally too often. In your yard/garden: If you know there are fleas in your yard, sprinkling DE in the soil can kill the fleas and their larvae. Also kills ticks, earwigs, and other bugs! It’s non-toxic to your pets, so you won’t have to worry when they nibble on the grass or roll in the dirt. In your home, in case of an infestation: Apply it to bedding and carpeting, leave it for at least 3 days, then vacuum it up. It does take 3+ days to work, but it will kill the larvae and adult fleas, breaking the life cycle and making your home flea-free!

And yes, the difference you'll notice in your hair and nails in a very short time is outstanding. I would like to add that although DE can be really good stuff for some, it isn't for everyone. Just like anything else. A down side to consuming DE is if you are a person with low iron issues, do not take it. It'll completely tank your iron and could potentially lead to infusions. Now on the other hand, if you are a person who has issues with high iron or hemochromatosis, it is recommended, as it will lower your iron, which in turn means less blood draws. Also, you can use it as a detox. So be careful not to consume too much because you can get herx symptoms. I mix some with either acv or water into a paste and use it as a mask. Once it dries, gently wash off. Your skin will be amazing, especially if you have oily skin.

If you ever find yourself in a farm/feed store, you may see 50 Lb. bags of DE. Research why the ranchers use it, and you'll learn a lot right there. It can be used as an alternative to charcoal capsules, and is MUUUUUCH cheaper. It's even used to control certain insects (not by poison, but by physical properties.) Definitely on the short list for homesteader's health :-)

Excellent video Dr. Berg. I have heard of diatomaceous earth before (non food grade) when I was researching ways to get rid of fleas living in the dry dust under the house. A friend mentioned the food grade version recently. On the subject of earth powders, I am curious to know anything you might be able to tell us about zeolite powder? It was also recommended by my friend.

I use this for my chickens to prevent mites and worms, in coop, dust baths & water - the diatoms are sharp and kill parasites. I never thought of taking it myself! (the cats drink the water too 'tho) Be careful using it, it should be food grade and avoid inhaling it as quite nasty for lungs.

To get rid of bedbugs in an investment house I bought - I used food grade diatomaceous earth and also heat . You can apply the Diatomaceous Earth by sprinkling it everywhere . I covered everything with it. You can buy or make a little device to blow it into cracks. You want to avoid breathing that dust in just like you wouldn't want to breathe in Flour or anything else. I got it into the cracks in the floors and walls and also behind the electrical outlets. I left it there for weeks then vacuumed it up followed by a wipe down with damp rags or a mop. Heat also destroys bed bugs and I did that also. I used electric heaters and fans and wired the thermostat fully on . I had a laser thermometer and I had the entire room over 118 degrees Fahrenheit. I did this room to room . Of course you have to be careful with overloading your electric system and your heating system. Are you can rent or buy a generator if you don't have one . I just ran a heavy cord from a different room with a different circuit and combined it with an electric heater plugged into the room I was heating. I got the whole house hot but I did bring each room up to over 118 degrees Fahrenheit . I think you have to have the room heated everywhere to over 118 degrees for over 90 minutes to kill the eggs. This house had the damn things everywhere and I got rid of 100%. I know people that hired professionals and they failed at it after charging thousands of dollars just to heat one room. And I bought the house from a friendand I had to work around his furniture and belongings that he wanted to hoard /keep. It was a pain in the you-know-what but it worked.

More good news about diatomaceous earth is that if you were trying to stay alkaline, it is highly alkalizing. However, there is some not so great news. Always cover your eyes with the glasses and maybe a cloth mask so that the diatomaceous particles don’t get to you. They can cause cataracts. And by the way, diatomaceous earth is also in kitty litter very often.

I have been using DE in my homemade raw cat food for my cat since I start her on a raw diet. She has never had worms or fleas while being on it. I also use apple cider vinegar mother of earth in it. I will use DE when I get infections, because I struggle taking antibiotics. I don't use it daily because I want my body to respond to it when I need it the most. I once posted on a TikTok video of a doctor talking about metal toxicity that people could use DE to help with it and they said so DE could replace their job? Then another responded that DE it's bad and dangerous. It is if you breathe it in or it comes in contact with the eyes but I know only good benefits from using it. I only buy fresh water DE these days.

A couple of other things; you should start out VERY slowly as to not get yourself up. You WILL HAVE to drink water with this. It is very moisture absorptive. Also, if you add a bit of lemon with this; it makes it seem like lemonade.... It isn't really gritty; which most people think it will be. You are thinking sand, not silica. Thanks D. Berg.
