The fact that creators kept saying infinite was so much better and different the past few months made me have sour feelings towards halo when the experience was still dull and unsatisfying Halo now just feels old and doesn't feel as smooth as other games currently out. Unique but every game is fighting for ur time as well

Idk, man. Halo infinite is the best fps and shooter rn for me. COD, Destiny, fortnite, Apex legends, and Battlefield are all boring and not fun for me and don't deserve my time. The finals is awesome, tho.

There's a lot now with forge, but the resurgence just isn't ever going to happen with how slow and unsatisfying the gunplay is compared to everything out right now with awful seasonal or balancing....yet they still play because of the gameplay Infinite doesn't feel right after playing everything else, it's slower and the movement just feels like an old Gen game. The maps are amazing yet there's just not enough to keep people staying. Just the exact same diehards from back in the day left to satisfy, not grow infinite. Just satisfy the older fans

@Jei4Del I mean, that's your opinion as well. The game has been growing daily. The game is never gonna have a "big resurgence," not bc of the gameplay, but it's bc it lacked content at launch. Nothing of what you said was facts. Also, the fact that you wrote the 3 paragraph essay to respond to when I said I like Halo more than most shooters right now is ridiculous. You need to evaluate yourself and how you think bc you come off as a dick.

@@themonstergamer5441 It's not even about shooters, the Ip itself had been so badly mishandle, I would rather play other games besides halo whether it being fps, rpg, looter shooter, fighting game, etc. An judging from how with each release has been getting smaller, and smaller seem to fit the build. Maybe had halo launch full game at launch, maybe it could made a comeback instead of taking forever. Add that with fact halo couldve been doing different genere of games over the years, but instead kept releasing new games with less quality is why it's in positon it in. ( I'm not even going to talk about the halo tv show.) I mean I'm more interested in new games like tales of maina/ avowed/ dbz sparking zero, elden ring dlc, sandland, etc than halo 7 or infinite ( the only thing they did right was making it free to play

Don’t really think it’s the beginning of the end. The next Halo title is 2-3 years out likely. I think there’s just going to be multiple projects in the works but that’s it. Infinite is their lifeline rn

I’m going to be 100% honest with all of you: content updates are better than seasons in the long run. MCC ran on content updates for years. Having multiple free operations will always be preferable to paying for a “premium battle pass” filled mostly with armor emblems. The prices in the store may get worse, but with the addition of cross-core shoulders and the free TV show helmets, I genuinely think that this is a better move than forcing the fanbase to wait 3-4 months at a time. We’ve seen what the 3 month wait between seasons can do to the game’s population. It’s better for us to have more regular content updates than to watch our numbers drop by the thousands or tens of thousands every time there’s a wait between seasons.

I think we have 1 year of consistent updates, then it will be like MCC...getting 1 - 3 updates a year which wont really make a difference.

I wonder if Halo PvP and PvE will ship together in the future. If 343 could pull it off, I wonder if having two separate teams working on each and having an overlapping release cadence would keep the excitement for Halo going as long as the products are good.

I can’t see how they can drop the next halo game in a few years with better forge and gameplay. Infinite is a great foundation and doesn’t need a successor anytime soon. They should keep infinite alive as the multiplayer and just release single player projects on the side They need a relaunch to get all eyes on infinite. New guns and vehicles and fixed networking combined with all of these playlists would make this game soar

I think Infinite just isn’t going to cut it. It wasn’t made for people who liked Halo, it was made for just a competitive community instead of letting Halo be a ‘party game.’ The focus on E-Sports teams instead of the game itself, let alone making every part cost money is the worst experience to walk into. Halo 5 has issues but at least you didn’t have a paywall for just colors, and you could actually earn things for free where Infinite does not allow you to. I hoped for it to fail just because it’s the embodiment of the worst parts of the industry. Even it’s singleplayer was way overly praised for what it actually was. The mission structure was boring and took place on this open, barren map that had actually nothing in it. And having silver generic polygonal bits showing because it’s ‘damaged’ didn’t cut it either for me. It tried to look like Halo but it still wasn’t Halo in any form for me. And I love forge usually but halo 5 overall, unironically is way better because of the amount of content actually offered

I really think Halo Infinite made us feel we lost hope like the pilot lost hope when the banished came and rekt the infinity, we went through a mid tv show and now seemingly flipped the show around with new season. Halo infinite is in a totally different state and having us fans “Discovering Hope”

Exactly. We should stop normalizing paying for games and hoping for updates and patches to "fix" the game. You don't pay for a disassembled item and hope a guy comes around to constantly assemble it piece by piece till it works so we shouldn't allow devs to do this either.

I personally think the should have done one final season to bring in more players, since content updates will not sell as well, but a lot of the community have wanted them to focus on a new game, and that’s the move they’ve taken.

It’s not the end. 1. People have been complaining about how content was dished out since launch so they changed it. 2. The next halo game ain’t coming for 5 more years minimum. 3. Even if the next game came out sooner rather than later it does not mean halo infinite will just die. Look how long MCC lasted

They should fix aim/shot mechanics in future Halo games. Halo Infinite drastically changed the way aiming, shooting, and micro adjustments work during gun battles. It makes shooting suck compared to older Halos and other shooter games. Halo "7" needs to make aim/shot mechanics more like Halo 5 or maybe like Halo 3.

I think people should stop normalizing "incomplete" games regardless if they get "fixed" or not. You don't pay for an item hoping that one day it will work. And I'm not talking about add-ons that improve the game. Im speaking of fan opinion drastically changing due to patches and updates.

Honestly, I really doubt they’re going to give up on Infinite any time soon. The show’s coming out, so they’re going to want to have content going for the game side by side esp considering the show will probably continue for a while. So like when S3 comes out, I’m sure they’ll still be pumping out content for infinite cuz cross media marketing is HUGE. Not to mention MCC got support for nearly 10 years. That’s just my opinion, but personally I doubt they poured all this work into Infinite to get it to where it is, just to say “okay no more”

Dude that "I'll catch you around the ring" was great. I haven't touched Infinite in months. If they keep Ranked FFA as a permanent playlist then I'll consider playing it more, but if Halo 5 made a comeback, that'll get all my time. But if they surprise us with a Halo: Last Spartan Standing game, I'll grind that.

The thing is, the end of seasons doesn't mean it's the end of new content. In theory, we'll be getting a new operation every month or so going forward, which is about the same cadence of content that we've had for season 5. With that will come new maps, balancing, and (hopefully) the falcon and some new sandbox items. I'm sure this year we'll continue to get some solid, consistent updates, but beyond that I'm not too sure. Infinite will continue to improve though and get new stuff for free, and that's great.

I love Halo I pray 🙏 that if they stop making seasons that they at least keep making content and steady updates. It's a great game now. And it's just a part of my youth and I hope that the next title of Halo 😇 is fully completed and tested before release.Having Open Alpha and Beta would not only help development but test servers and live gameplay.

Well put Hollowtide, I do hope something comes soon and you won't be retiring from content creation. I will say I'm shocked by how many others think this is great news for infinite. A few cosmetics every few months does nothing for attracting a big playerbase, which would necessitate big updates with new modes and sandbox updates. I do believe this may be good news for the franchise as a whole, a new game is needed as Infinite is kinda chalked when it comes to the game's competition, not to mention that abysmal engine it runs on. Regardless, we will have to wait for the next game, though I wait with caution as we felt this way with Halo 4, MCC, 5, and Infinite and they all were disappointments in their own way at launch. Hoping for a sequel to knock it out of the park next time.

Thanks for the kind words hollowtide. I feel the same way as you, it is unfortunate Halo has been the way it has been but at the least it has been fun playing the new games and dissecting them with others. Hopefully we get some great news soon @@Hollowtide

343 has already transitioned to most maps being made in forge. I wouldn't expect anything beyond what they said in their stream, and even some of that stuff isnt guaranteed and has no estimated date. i sincerely hope they are already focused on the next game partnered with CA in unreal engine.

They should just focus on a new, COMPLETE game that actually functions properly, and feels like Halo again. Halo infinite is not it.

Exactly what I've been saying. If they released a complete game this wouldn't be an issue. There wouldn't be an "end" if there wasn't a "start" to begin with.

Yeah infinite is probably going to keep its support as the multiplayer avenue for halo going forward. Switching the model from seasons to operations is more in line with competitive titles vs. Live service/battle royales. If there's a new halo game being worked on it'll likely be pve only or a new campaign. 343 is working on the net code still, and that would be a huge waste if they were to abandon the game after

And before anyone says oh they could port it over to the next game none of halo 5 armor was transferable to Infinite and both games people used money to buy the armor. Obviously code wise I totally agree with you. They would have to re-code all the armor meshes/textures into the new engine. But the models/textures themselves are completed so you'd think at least some of the content could be reused in some form or fashion as the artist work is done on them. Unless the way they textured the models is some radically different system that doesn't use the industry standard PBR materials unreal engine would be able to import he models no issue.

Not surprised but sad to be sure. It's going to be a long time until the next game.

After watching this and similar content on KZread I question why it was ultimately named “infinite” You’d think with what they have they would just continue to build on the amazing platform they have built. Bring in campaign dlc, weapons, equipment. Etc

Yea they gave up on the game overall. Kinda sad cause if they just added new guns, UI, and dlc people would come back to this game. I just feel like I finally liked halo infinite after not liking any halo since halo 3. I hope the grass is greener on the other side.

Same entirely. Infinite is great and the new free stuff kinda grindy but still fun to work with. Idk I just hope the next game learns properly from this one. Ngl I hope the core system comes back but sort of revamped. Having access to all the generations of suits was amazing but lack of cross armor pieces and not being able to save “kits” for quick armor set ups sucks

Halo infinite is a hardened old turd that they polished so much that it has a slight sheen about it. It's still a piece of shit though.

ending infinite is so gross to me, particularly if I cannot take my cosmetics into the next multiplayer experience in some way. Why add the progression system with huge master chief reward if we just lose it in a few years. why add progression at all? just can infinite and pour all the resources into the next game if that was the case... don't sell a dream and deliver dog shit.

Am I the only one who thinks that we don´t have enough customization stuff ?! And now they want to end the seasons, which brings most of it ???!!

You can still buy all the previous battle passes tho, and getting all 5 will give you roughly 3x the amount of content as you would buying sets in the shop. And now all the future content is free unless you just didn’t play

If they add playable Elites the game would feel complete to me. Now if they add playable Brutes, weapons, vehicles, etc. now that would be a blessing
