About the Panties scene(i'll explain this because there are going to be more scenes in the next episodes); this are roxy's panties(the ones the maid gave to him) and him holding them is not supposed to have a pervert meaning; It's basically the only thing he has left of roxy and he's treasuring it(it's still weird but he 's not like sniffing them or anything)

Gives us more insight on how strong Eris is at that point and gives us more world building with certain families and factions. Also it is just downright awesome the animation, action, and choreography are top tier.

@@zextruh9862 Are you an anime only? The OVA is important for multiple reasons. Eris meeting Cliff, Threse and the blessed child, political power game between pro-demon race faction and anti-demon race faction within the Millis church, Cliff as a self-proclaimed genius mage, all of these elements are intricately weaved into the main story plot and story-telling in the novel later. Without watching OVA, you couldn't even make sense of the conversation between Ruseus and Cliff in their first encounter at the school which you will see in S2 EP 5.

A reminder that Rudeus and Eris also teleported into the sky. Luckily they had Ruijerd there to save them. But it makes you wonder just how many people teleported into the sky, fell, and simply died. It had to be a lot.

Recall 1x07. Right near the end of the episode Rudy is looking at the big-ball-of-death in the sky and he, jokingly, prays for girls falling from the sky. JUST HOW POWERFUL IS HE?

Rudy is not over the heartbreak at all. This series is way more realistic then most shows. Only time can heal emotional trauma.

Sucks no one is getting the panties thing. At this point it isn't a pervy thing. It's a memento and that's the only thing he has of her. He's super sentimental and wants to have something that belongs to someone he knows/loves/cares about. We see this when it comes to the action figures as well.

Nah not really it's pretty understandable, bro was still an otaku at home who just died when he was doing that, he has changed in s2 he isn't out smelling panties or anything, the panty is the only thing he has of Roxy who is basically his god, for taking him to the outside world for the first time, for teaching him many things and he also learns she is the one looking out for his mother, it is pretty beautiful writing, of course worshiping the panties is just wierd.

Roxy's panties are certainly weird, can't deny that... but the thing is Rudeus doesn't have those panties for perverted reasons, in the light novel he refers to them as a "holy/sacred relic" because he actually sees Roxy as his savior, she's the only reason he made the first step to move past his trauma of his old life. That's the reason whenever he was literally having panic attacks he would reach into his bag to hold them and that would actually calm him down.

I recommend watching the OVA, it is important for season 3 and it is a continuation of season 1 EP17. He's 14 years old in this little arc.

Before beginning this new season you should have watched the ova because its canon and its the continuation of the episode 17 if i I remember well and its important to understand something later

@13:15 There's a bunch of ways Eris could have handled leaving better, but she knew if she tried to tell Rudeus face to face he'd be able to convince her to stay, if she told him where she was going he'd track her down and convince her to come back. Which is probably true. Eris believes that Rudeus intends to fight Orsted again after seeing him practicing that "disturb magic" spell on himself at the beginning of ep 22, so to make sure he doesn't die again she plans to invest all of her time and effort into training.

yeah she felt inferior to rudeus. Being with him, relying on him, would limit her ability to become strong enough to protect him... Sadly she's REALLY bad at expressing her feelings so she um wrote a note... and we will see how that turned out soon.

Just keep an open mind about the panties. I mean think about it. Rudy is all alone after being thrown to the side by Eris. Hes still a kid all alone dealing with depression and trauma and the only things he has to keep him stable are the panties of his teacher that got him to finally face his fear of going outside. He calls it the holy relic for a reason. Like yea its still a bit silly and you could just look at it like "oh wow theyre just panties smh" but youd be missing the point

This ep is another prime example of why I love this series so much. It's so motivating to see a person, from the lowest point that one can imagine, grows to become a better one. I'm glad that Rudeus can finally burn the hair.

He’s around 13 in this episode, a few months have passed since the last episode of season 1. Sara is around 15.

I don't really do this often, but since ya'll don't like Rudy so I feel it needs to be said. The panties are not there to be creepy or sexual, for him is a security blanket of sorts used for a reminder of a kind person who he looks up to and who changed his life. I get it, you see character with a woman's panties they are the perverted character everyone hates. For Rudy, is much more than that.

Nah there's no way. Nothing even remotely as egregious as season 1 episode 8 happens. They even made it past season 1 episode 22 (Rudy and Eris). If anything the worst parts of this season so far that would've potentially made them quit were in episode 0. Of course im speaking from what we've seen so far; if something completely out of pocket happens later on then yea, they just might lol.

If there’s one thing I can critique this episode on, it’s that it makes it feel like he’s already over and done with the trauma of everyone leaving him in one episode. He’s not, nor is he even close to being recovered. It’s hard to relay it without spelling it out like the light novels do, but Eris messed him up. But nonetheless, so glad to have this show back. Glad you’re able to take this story a little bit more seriously now
