Nice work. Really nice, and I totally agree on that wash thing. I`m a washaholic and wash everything, engine, tires, seats, rims and all chrome details. Brings life to your model. Since I discovered "Bare Metal" I quit painting chrome details. Saved me tons of time and cursing. 😆

I have not built any model kits in over two and a half decades. Thank you for putting together this series. I’m building a diorama which will have 3 model kits that need assembling/building. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this video series. I’m recently retired and have been trying to get back in to model car building. I loved doing it tremendously when I was younger. I’m not building for any type of show, I just want to display them on my dresser. I’m really not wanting to spend tons of money on equipment. Your videos detailed the way I used to build models and you did an excellent job of showing and explaining how it can be done using simple old school techniques. Your model turned out great! And it looked fun. That’s the way it ought to be.

Wow, just finished binge watching this series and it was great. I used to build models in this fashion as a kid many years ago and it is nice to see such good results just using basic tools and equipment. Thanks for all the great info and excellent tips and tricks. Things seem to have changed most in the glue types as all we used as kids was a little metal tube of very stinky thickish glue that was a bloody mess most of the time. This makes me want to head to the local model shop and pick up a kit and all the bits to paint and assemble it just to give it a try again. Thanks for doing this series of videos as it was good to see a lot of the details that are on the unbox and build sites though they are awesome to watch as well.

Angelo: I really enjoyed your 7 part series of this build. Can't speak for everyone, but sometimes I think I am "above" or choose to work around basic, beginner steps, which at times could spell disaster to my build. In regards to the rear trunk decal, for these I prefer to let the decal dry, once its in place. I then make my cuts with the x-acto blade and apply additional setting solution. Nice build!

I would enjoy seeing more close-up shots.

I have been laid off, but on a recall list so I hope....this video series is great, I have ordered a model and the basics, as a teenager I was always very frustrated with modeling. You have taught me some great things to make it enjoyable and doable. I have a 69 gto on the way.

The finished model looks awesome - great job! Personally, I put the chrome doo-dads on at the very last - the door handles, wiper blades, and mirrors - because they are WAY too easy to knock off while handling.

Great build you have done there! I would love to see model car manufacturers supply their kits with weighted and bulged tires, like how they are found in aircraft kits. It would push the realism through the roof!

Your experience sure makes it look easy. I've built a couple of models as an adult but years apart and years ago. Many of your techniques I have never seen nor used. My bench is torn down for a room rehab at the moment but I'll be reviewing this series when It gets back together. I'm hoping by the middle of next month. I have 2-3 kits waiting and a WIP that hasn't made it to the paint yet.

Thank you for this series, I enjoyed it and learnt a lot. I’m reviving my childhood hobby and relearning everything. I’m waiting for some models and tools that I ordered. In the meantime, I’m gathering info by watching great videos like these. A question on the paints, how do you know which colours to get in spray and which normal? I’m planning my paint purchase and not sure how best to do this.

That’s a good question. I base whether to buy spray or brush paints based on the size of the part. For me I prefer to spray the larger parts like the interior, chassis, and the body and then you can brush paint the smaller parts. Of course nothing says you can’t spray all the parts which is what I usually do. Glad you enjoyed the series good luck on your build and have fun!!!

So for all the decals aside from the hood decals do you just wet them with water and stick them on??

Was that bottle for washer fluid or the antifreeze overflow bottle? It’s proximity in the model looks closer to the radiator so it’s more likely the antifreeze overflow bottle. Usually the washer fluid bottle was mounted to the firewall or on the back of the left wheel well.

Beautiful.. I can't wait to start mine. But I'm having a hard time finding that blue..

How do you get the license plate/tag so detailed? Did I miss how you did it somehow?

Are you not supposed to do the decals after painting and then add the clear coat over it all?

Great video series, watched them all. One question for you. The Testors glue that you use from the black container, I use the same. I noticed that you applied the glue to painted surfaces. Does it stick properly? I've always scraped away the paint from both surfaces before sticking them together. Thanks again sir.

Hey Ron. It’s really a personal preference. I prefer not to use primer on smaller parts since I’ve never had an issue. However some people like to prime all parts. There really isn’t a right or wrong - just preference. Thanks!

Hi Angelo, on this Charger that I'm doing I'm a little confused as to how you clear coat the rear part that holds the lights. I'm doing it separately from the rest of the body. I am wondering how you wet sand, buff, and polish apart with all of these high and low places. I guess I would like to know how you did it. Mac

Michael McNeive I don’t go too crazy on buffing and polishing. As long as you get the flat surfaces smooth it will look great.

George Taylor I like Bob Smith Industries Super Gold Plus for that. It pretty easy to use and you only need the tiniest amount.

What are the adventages of using the sharpies VS Tamiya's transparent paint? Also, the blinkers on the sides, are they molded in, or did they add those decals 'cuz they're not molded in the body?

ChasseGallerie I don’t have anything against the clear Tamiya paints. I have just found the sharpies look as good and are much easier. The lights are molded in also on the body. Which is nice because if you line up the decal correctly, once it settles in, it looks great since there is some texture to go with the decal. Thanks for watching!

Me and my teen son building our first model car together. 70 1/2 Camaro. Could you direct me to how utilize a builders kit, especially the seperator and the stylus.

Is building a car from scratch really good for beginners? I'm think I should start by learning how to do an oil change or change a tire first, but I don't think I have any wrenches that small.

What is the name of blue paint color? In the early video i heard "bright blue aqua" ???Does not seem aqua !

I am currently building this car. What glue did you use and how did you glue those door vents on with? Im worried all my glue will destroy the paint on the body of the car when I go to attach them?

mike jordan I don’t recall the glue exactly. Most likely I used Bob Smith Industries Super Gold Plus which is a form of crazy glue. If you’re afraid of damaging the paint you can use a little bit of clear coat to hold the part in place. Just use the clear coat like you would a glue. You only need a tiny amount of glue for that.

@@AngelosWorkbench I have the BSI in the pink bottle but I dont have the BSI in he gold bottle. So I should Not use the BSI in my pink bottle right? So the BSI in the gold tube which is also used for clear parts like windows and headlights can also be applied to the body in super small amounts?
