    What was the color and brand of paint you used for the dark red? I'm getting ready to build this kit and wanted to go that route or maybe the dark blue

    I owned the 73 Mustang in yellow and black so this body style is close to my heart. I’m glad Revell made it and it might be their greatest kit ever. Also I love that Stynlrez primer. Amazing stuff. I highly recommend it. Thanks for the video Angelo. 👍

    Love the build and the videos, but the uncomfortable silence throughout is a bit jarring when all of a sudden Ad break or your voice breaks the silence. I feel some copyright free music would be good to break the silence.

    @@AngelosWorkbench Alpha Model kits can be very overwhelming and time consuming with all parts and detail, I certainly felt that way with mine. That combined with the horrible instructions can make it hard to want to push through. I made several mistakes on mine because it was so hard to figure out the instructions ( order of operation, installing parts wrong, reversed decals, etc…) Considering the price point, the windows (glass) are absolutely ridiculous/nightmare. Even with all that, my finished model looks amazing. Yours looks incredible, far better than what I was able to do, hope to see the finished product some day!

  • @toddward2310

    It would be my guess that they manufacture the calipers to fit the resin parts incase anyone wants to build the kit without the photo etch. My Alpha model La Ferrari Aperta was the same. You can always remove material from the calipers for the photo etch, you would not be able to add any for just resin builds. However I think it would be crazy to leave out the photo etch because the breaks look amazing when fully built. As always, great video, I enjoy watching your builds.

    Both birds look fantastic!, another alternative to the Pontiac letters in the rear is Baremetal foil them prior to primer and just remove the paint using a q-tip dipped in thinner and the same after applying color coats,it really works great!.Looking forward to seeing the Birds finished.

    Fabulous work! Enjoyed watching. What you did with the exhaust was a must!! Looks stupid how it is on the box. I have a good friend that is superb building models. Although Monogran now owns Revell, he still thinks Monogram is a better product with better plastic. For some reason I am more attracted to the Revell and want him to build me it. Question: what’s your opinion on the better MV Ferrari Daytona kit??

    First of all I love this series as that gen of Firebirds are some of my favorite pony cars. Very nice choice of colors too. I am, however concerned for your health. I love 2K clears, I don't think there is anything better suited for reproducing a great finish on a model but isn't the stuff is notoriously bad for you. I can see your are not wearing gloves and hear you speaking without a respirator. Your spray booth, like mine, can't cope with the fumes as I can see them in the light being sucked in by the fan. Problem is we have to open up the AB and its take a minute for the fan to clear these. That can't be good for you, please stay safe.

  • @AngelosWorkbench
    @AngelosWorkbench2 ай бұрын

    Thanks very much. I have done some research and you are correct. 2K is pretty nasty stuff. I am wearing a respirator during the video but I shift it to the side when I’m speaking. Then I put it back. I also don’t video the 2k getting sprayed very often for that reason. Thanks very much for the post and bringing up this point. Safety is important!!

    Gorgeous paint colours, looks like those Createx paints gives a lot of colour choice for models. I must admit though I'm not too keen on 2K clear coats, due to the health risks associated with it, even with using respirator, gloves, and spray booth.

  • @AngelosWorkbench
    @AngelosWorkbench2 ай бұрын

    Yeah I don’t blame you there. 2K is nasty stuff. You can get pretty good with a 1k. I keep looking for a water based clear that will give the same finish and that you can polish but haven’t found it yet. Thanks for the post - safety is very important.

    Angelo, how long you wait in between paint coats, and how long after placing your decals, do you wait for laying the last 3-4 layers of clear coat?

  • @AngelosWorkbench
    @AngelosWorkbench2 ай бұрын

    The paint coats are about 10-15 mins and then about 30 minutes before clear. I’ll still the bodies in a dehydrator for an hour and then let them sit overnight minimum. Decals take a while to cure. Then the first coat of clear has to be a light coat just in case and to seal them up. Then the additional clear layers are heavier. That’s coming up soon!

  • @JoseDiaz-kb3fs
    @JoseDiaz-kb3fs2 ай бұрын

    What was that you added after mixing the paint, a thinner or paint retarder?

  • @AngelosWorkbench
    @AngelosWorkbench2 ай бұрын

    That was the UVLS clear. You mix that with the created paint per their data sheet at 10%. It transforms the paint to an acrylic polyurethane so it will adhere to hard surfaces better. Then the 4011 thinner goes in at 10-25%. Then it all has to sit for 10 minutes to acclimate. If you don’t let it sit it sprays poorly.
