The Bee Gees were more than early soft ballads in the 60's, or just 70's disco era. No, the Bee Gees kept bringing down the house in the late 80's and 90's with incredible tunes just like this, They are legends and magical in everything they did. Thank you Bee Gees for going the extra mile and taking chances. Everything you did was music magic to my ears at least.❤❤❤❤

This is one of my absolute favorite Bee Gees tunes, and that's quite a feat considering their magnificent catalog. You have the time period correct. The album was released in 1989. Barry's voice is perfection in the lead. The harmony is unreal, and the bass line still gives me the shakes.

From 1989 "One" was the 18th album, released during the disco era. Lyrics and music were written by Barry, Robin and Maurice. The lyrics were about unity and coming together and was their last big hit before the death of Maurice. The catchy melody, smooth heavenly vocals and upbeat rhythm and the use of electronic instruments and the orchestral arrangement delivered a full and rich tune. Purely Bee Gee perfection. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Not sure how you define “the disco era” and whether you mean “the Bee Gees disco era” or a disco era in general, but to me this isn’t disco and disco was not big anymore for about 10 years around this time. 😉 I get why you may consider this disco, but it’s not exactly four to the floor, it’s funkier than that. It’s more like funky synth pop to me. 😊

The disco era was well over by 1989 and One is not disco! Maurice did not die until 2003 and they had a number of hits between One and then.

They had Alone from 1997 so yes they had hits in 1990's also. In fact also in the 2000's with This Is Where I Came In. That whole album from 2001 is just a treat. It was also their last album before Maurice past away.

You've heard a lot of Bee Gees now and this is another really good one! There is one big one that showcases both Barry and Robin switching off on lead that's just brilliant. It also shows off Robin's falsetto - maybe it's high head voice, but it's incredible. Alone, and do the music video. it's as good as For Whom The Bell Tolls. This song (One) is from 1989 and Alone is from 1997 - they still had it 40 years later after their first hit!

The Bee Gees had at least 1 song ( often more) on the UK charts each decade they recorded. Their final song to appear on the UK charts was "This is Where I Came In" from their last studio album of the same name. It reached number 18 on the UK charts and features Robin and Barry trading lead vocals. The official video is a wonderful retelling of their professional journey from the 60's forward. There is also an accompaning video, "The Making of This is Where I Came In" where the Bee Gees talk about all the imagery in the video and it is very funny. Both of these videos would be great for you to react to.

You can't be let down when your listening to those three- love the Bee Gees. I think you would like a song by Steve Windwood-"While you see a chance take it." It's very beautiful and uplifting. It was popular back in the day but underated - kinda of like a lot of ELO's songs. Also you may like "Trouble"- by Lindsay Buckingham-Mic Fleetwood is in the video playing the drums and the song is so catchy - on top of that the Lindsay on the guitar - another underated performer!! You are so fun to watch!! Cheers...

This is the group I grew up In The lmid 60s right through the 2000. There is no group that can touch them. The one doing the singing is the oldest (Barry) the other two are twins (Maurice and Robin). The twins are both deceased now. You are in for a treat of you continue to listen to their music. They write all their own music as well as for other artists. Listen to TOO MUCH HEAVEN. It is breathtaking, sung with raw talent. No such thing as auto tune back then. Just them singing!
