Bee Gee's will NEVER DIE! Their music is timeless. Sir Barry Gibb just had his 75th birthday on September 1st. Saying he's a legend feels inadequate.
They are just teens here. Keith Urban sang this in a tribute to The Bee Gees. Barry was there with his family and loved it!

In my opinion one of the most amazing singers to ever walked this planet. The Bee Gees could sing the phonebook and it would sound like a masterpiece. They have so many beautiful songs and they’re also different and special in their own way.

The Bee Gees are just ridiculous good.
Barry looks and sounds just like I would have expected Andy to sound and look. It's amazing how much alike they were. I recall Barry saying that Andy was as much his twin and Maurice and Robin. He said that they even have the same birth mark although they are 12 years apart.
Beautiful words, drop dead gorgeous men, glorious harmonies and seriously groovy striped pants and flappy cuff shirts… What more do you frickin NEED to bring you joy in watching them from ANY era of their music?
I like their old music
If they'd only done this song, the world would have been happy. Lucky for us, the hits just kept coming!
They actually hold the Guiness world record for most songs written, over a thousand... So yeah. Lots of songs! And not a single bad one!!!

Did Barry beat out McCartney??? I hadn’t heard! All three brothers are in the top ten along with Lenon and McCartney. I heard, Barry was also #2 for most songs produced, just behind George Martin. Really amazing. It made being relegated as just a “Disco group” all the more shocking. As a whole, as artists, songwriters, and producers, they really are in a class of their own.
@lauraallen55

Number two most popular not most songs - anything - because Barry didn't write the Bee Gees songs. The Bee Gees wrote their songs together and Robin was the predominant writer. @@dp3396
Barry wrote this for Otis Redding to record, but Otis died in a plane crash before he could do so, so the Bee Gees did it themselves. What is notable about this song iis that Maurice takes the high harmony at the end of the song, Maurice normally sang the low register, but he he could switch to any register, so that his brothers could do their thing..
Absolutely!!!❤❤❤

Note how much their brother Andy looked like Barry at this age.

They will tell you they are an R&B group & never were "disco." Those Saturday Night Fever songs that were used had already been written before the movie was filmed. Just because Travolta danced in a "disco" didn't make their songs "disco." It had a beat. They never liked being told they started the disco era.
My. Favorite ever
Such harmonies! Maurice is also so underrated! He was an awesome musician and multi talented! Each has a unique voice and a special place in the harmonies!
The Bee Gees are musical geniuses. R.I.P Maurice and Robin your music still echos around the world...

I didn’t get that she said Barry wrote all their songs. All 3 were great songwriters…but I read that Barry was considered the force behind their songwriting because in the beginning when they were smaller, he did write everything; then as the twins got older, Robin started, then Maurice. Nobody can ignore that they were fantastic. I just think Barry wrote more hit songs for other artists that Robin and Maurice wasn’t a part of and that Barry was credited as the only GIBB (like: Andy’s I just want to be your everything; Everlasting Love; Grease for Frankie Valli…and more.) This is not to take anything away from Robin & Maurice cause I would put them up there with anyone regarding songwriting proficiency! They were absolutely great!❤ Put the 3 of them together and they were unbeatable in their writing!
@lauraallen55

She said 'exclusively' so that sounds a lot like that he wrote all their songs, to me. I just get tires of people acting like Barry was the only brother that achieved anything, and that Maurice and Robin were just along for the ride, and to back him up. There are a lot of people who do this. Some even go so far a to make disrespectful comments about the other two Bee Gees. @@Sandra6411
This original is timeless! Thank you for bringing it back.. almost forgotten.
The greatest accolade they received was being inducted into thd hall of fame for their songwriting...over 100 songs..
I am 71 now and grew up listening to some of the greatest bands whether Rock, Pop, Bluegrass or country the world has ever known. Thank you for playing all these great songs by the true legends of music. There is so many great songs from the sixties that younger kids are just starting to rediscover. I mean these guys had little microphones and nowhere near the audio technology we now have, yet their music will last through the ages. I thank God i was young, free and so very fortunate to have lived and loved every minute of it. Thanks again. Keep doing what you do! P.S. I just plugged my earphones in and man it sounds so much better! I recommend everyone get some earphones and use them when listening.

Barry's voice is PURE GOLD!!! I love all of their music and it's really sad that Barry is the only one left now. So many decades of memories and great songs they gave us.
Every song they ever wrote and sang ..basically all a hit lol.mind boggling.
Putting in another request for the Bee Gees "New York Mining Disaster 1941."
I love all of their music but this has always been my favorite. Something about the combination of their harmonies along with the violins and cello in this beautiful melody that always brings tears to my eyes. Fanny is another favorite. Such incredible talent. They've always been so underrated. I mean they wrote over 1,000 songs and you can't even count how many were hits for themselves and for others. Just amazing!
What talent is!
This was the 1st version I ever heard and it remains my favorite. ✌🎵
Definitely, of all time!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Barry Gibb has written or co written over 1000 songs on his own, combine that with the songs Robin and Maurice wrote, the number is unbelievable...as much as they loved to perform...they all loved to write more...
So many great songs - but I especially love Massachusetts.
I was raised in Sydney in the 1960’s - the Bee Gees on television Brian Henderson’s Bandstand- they were everywhere in Australia- to my generation they were already handsome gods of music. They were a soundtrack to my life. By the 70’s I was living in London for 15 years. They were all over the dance clubs of the 70’s then the 80’s. You have no idea how massive they have always been
Has always made me think of the love of my life.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful voices and songs 🎵 Bee Gees forever ❤❤ Miss you Robin 😔
Thankyou for the applause!❤
Thank you for the music!
How could anyone not know that?
Yes. Agree. Besides the incredible harmony of the three together. Barry has two unique, amazing abilities.. a amazing falsetto that is spot on pitch wise and the ability to make his vibrato almost sound like an echo chamber for stunning effect. I love so many voices from that decade, Karen Carpenter ( my fave), David Gates, Marilyn McCoo, Linda Ronstadt and on and on. Magical time. Magical singers.
ahhh the old Bee Gees....love them...so young they were. I remember these songs well
This song was written by Barry for their manager Robert Stigward. They wrote it pretty fast.Of course their manager loved this song so mu ch as his birthday gift song.❤
Music is the universal language!
Consider, too, that when they wrote this, Barry was 19 and the twins were 16.
Thank You for sharing. One of the best
The Bee Gees, in an interview, said that the songs just seem to be there for them to pick out of the air. I don't believe this takes away from their talent I just think it means it's a god-given talent that they just could pull it seemingly out of the air. GOAT group who over came many obstacles and heart break to give the world their music. I encourage you to read, watch, or listen to their story.
I absolutely LOVE the Bee Gees!!! I don't think there's a song that I don't know! Thank you for doing this song 💕💕💕
This is a masterpiece and timeless!!! It was on BeeGees 1st (1967).
Pre-"Disco" Bee Gees had some fantastic songs!
This song was originally written for Otis Redding to record but he died before he recorded it. The brothers then decided to record it themselves! My favorite song that they wrote for someone else is “Immortality” that they wrote for Celine Dion!!
They have over 1000 songs. Barry was 21 then and the twins were 18. Their last album was in 2001. Maurice died in 2003 so the Bee Gees ended then. Barry continues to write and sing.
Angels!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

A lot of the Bee Gees songs were about love or lost love. Another one of my favorites from the 60s is Run to Me.
You mentioned their looks. When Andy started growing a beard he looked so much like Barry it was crazy.
They wrote it for Otis Redding but he died before he recorded it so they recorded it. It has been covered by 200 different artists.
Seeing Barry this young really takes me back to MY favorite BeeGee growing up, their youngest brother Andy Gibb who sadly passed away at the young age of 30 from heart damage from cocaine abuse 😞💞
They are amazing live!! Great Era!!
So So many songs they performed and wrote.
Early catalogue is BEST. Soulful.
The best version by far. They have number ones in every decade since the 60s whether by them or a host of other artists
The Bee Gee's were so multi-talented, that I believe we will never witness in our lifetime, another like them!!!!
Harri, you are spot on about the Bee Gees being amongst the most prolific. They set many new chart records in their day. Barry's career has spanned over 60 years. In 1994, he was inducted into the Songeriters Hall of Fame with his brothers. In '97, as a member of the Bee Gees, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Barry also received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. He has also produced albums with other great stars, Barbra Streisand among them.
An R&B classic. the Bee Gees are the 6th biggest selling act in music. they are number 3 in the billboard hot 100 behind the Beatles & Supremes.
I adore this song
At this time I get happy when I find people discovering the Bee Gees for the first time. Welcome to the B Gs world. Bee Gees always. By the way their interviews are worth watching dont miss them. Pic any interview and u shall get hooked.

Barry didn't write the Bee Gees songs. All three of them wrote them, predominantly Robin actually.
TO SAY THIS...I ALONE HAVE 1250 SONGS FROM THESE GUYS.....MY ALL TIME FAVORITE....GROUP......THEY FEEL LIKE FAMILY TO ME
And Barry is still very much with us.
The statue of Bee Gees in Douglas, Isle of Man, was installed in 2021. Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, and then to Cribb Island.
What I love about The Bee Gees’ performance of this song is that it showcases what a versatile band they were, respectfully outside of the dominance of the disco sound they perfected for themselves in the late 1970’s.
Sept 1st was Barry’s 75th birthday! I’ve loved The Bee Gees as long as I can remember. I grew up listening to them! You should check out their younger brother Andy Gibb!!

I have often wondered about Barry's voice in all its greatness. And not about his falsetto. I am asking all you music scholars to explain what my ears are hearing.
