This is the song where Barry’s falsetto was born!! They recorded this song and their manager listened to it and said, “it’s too bad one of you can’t scream in tune and add it to the background!” Barry said he would try it and Barry’s falsetto was then born!! This rabbit hole goes all the way to China baby!! Listen to the recorded version and you will hear the falsetto over the top! RIP Robin and Maurice, we love and miss you!!🫶

Maurice said when Robin and Barry sang together it sounded like one voice and people had a hard time figuring it out. Mo would jump in to harmonize just by instinct, fun fact they could not read music, they had no formal musical education they did everything by sound and creativity. Robin would also cup his ear in the earlier days to keep his voice centered before all the technology was available ❤

This is the song that the Bee gees discovered their Falsettos. The Producer of the song asked if the Bee Gees could scream or make their voices sound excited. all three of the Bee Gees found their start of the Falsettos but Barry could do it longer and more sustained. Fanny Be tender with my Love was also a early version of the Falsetto. Barry said he tried to stop doing it in their songs but Robin and Maurice kept telling Barry he needed to keep doing it. That the fans loved it and they were getting lots of number 1 records.

Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

sandyleewhite - Robin's vibrato is far superior to Barry's and totally natural and when Robin belts it out like in "For whom the Bell Tolls" he blows Barry out of the water. That is not solely my opinion but exactly what Barry said himself. He said Robin's vibrato was heavenly. Robin could also sing falsetto and his register could go down to low baritone and even bass. Barry had more of a "pop" voice and Robin was more of a balladeer. I also grew up with the Bee Gees (born 1949 like the twins. :) )

I know you have learned a lot about the brothers since November, but this song and this album are personal favorites. Of course there is no way to have only one favorite Bee Gee's song. You now know what a magnificent chest voice Barry had. The unexpected way he comes in on an upbeat on the word "Here" and the way "Broad" is so deliberate it almost sounds like two syllables; well I am in heaven, and have been since 1975. All the brothers were sublime. This is a Midnight Special appearance and Mo did the falsetto embellishments, since Barry was singing melody at that point in the song. Mo could do anything. Also, Barry and Robin in unison gives a totally distinct sound than either of them apart. That is especially evident in Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) on this same album. Thank you so much for reacting to this magic.

You've done it again. Great job! Maurice's vocal range reaches down to bass, up to counter tenor (falsetto) and ev'rything between. No better background singer in the world, especially when three part harmony is needed. Most leads made by Barry and Robin, because of their ability to sing louder and more unique. Some very good leads of Mo you can find on the songs "Walking On Air", "Omega Man" as well as "Lay It On Me".

Their vocals can switch to so many different sounds that it will amaze you. There are 2 songs Robin sings you need to react to # 1 please, and the 2nd one is my lovers prayer. And alot of people over look mo he didnt get to sing lead much, but there was 1 song you could look up. I haven't heard it in a very long time so I cant remember the name of it. Robin also went off on his own for awhile. I have 2 different Bee Gees play list, and a Robin play list. They are my favorite group, and they're in the top 3 groups of all time.

It's funny when I am singing along with them, which is of course every time and I've been a huge fan since early 70's, I without thought sometimes am singing with Barry, another time Maurices part and then Robin. I have always been the music nerd who listens over and over picking apart each of their vocals until I have it down. I can easily say, out of all of my fave groups, the Bee Gees have been the absolute greatest and fun to do that with. I feel privileged to have been born in time to know them from their early years.
