Tina has truly evolved into my absolute FAVORITE character of the entire show. Her and Richie have so much heart and complexity and passion in them, I love to witness it.

As always another great reaction. When Richie talks about purpose the book he refers to is Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami. Through season 1 he referenced authors, names of books, quotes and characters from books possibly not known to general readers/ viewers. A subtle hint that while he is an angry jerk, failing at work and family he actually is self motivated to be well read in literature, especially books more associated with lit/philosophy courses than your best seller at Barns and Nobles. Yet another way Christopher Storer and the writers are adding layers to each character.

On God, Tina hugging Sydney was a top 10 moment in this show. And worth mentioning that Syd is basically addressing Tina's main insecurity, the one thing that made her antagonize Syd in the first place: the fact that she had no formal culinary education. Now Syd is asking if Tina would accept formal education, to work under her, and they respect each other enough for that not to be a thing.
