Constipation is caused by carbs gumming up the works so to speak. Meat is so thoroughly digested it doesn't even make it that far. There is no essential carb. You don't need a shred of fiber. Everything you need can be obtained easily from decent quality ruminant meat.

KenDBerryMD, thanks for the video & the keto drops info, had a question regarding minerals, I make my own magnesium oil, wondered since its Magnesium Chloride I use to make it, can I also add salt(ie Sodium Chloride) and my supplemental potassium( potassium chloride) to the oil recipe? I figure it's an easy way to get them all through the day and avoid the issues with eating too much magnesium at once and having to run through the bathroom, would appreciate your take on it, thanks.

Oh it’s true. I’m a sugar addict as well. People who are not don’t even understand the struggle. Like not buying any candy on purpose so I won’t get tempted, but then at 2 am (after struggling the whole day) just getting in my car and driving to a gas station to buy every candy imaginable and stuffing my face in it like it’s crack!!!! And literally getting that drug high. The struggle is real. It’s a proper addiction. Fasting helped. Going carnivore even more. But once pms hits for a few days I just can’t resist and I have some candy. But like 1/4 oft what I’d eat before. Baby steps haha

I can testify that this does work. My doctor had diagnosed me with diabetes and put me on medication that was making me feel like a zombie, and I still had high sugar levels. Well, I remembered that back in my younger days when I used to do powerlifting, I used to only eat animal products and never had any of these illnesses. So, I decided to reverse my diabetes and told my doctor I would not take any more medication. I then started watching videos by Ken Berry that showed me I was doing the right thing. Of course, I experienced sugar withdrawal symptoms, but I stuck with it. In one month, my diabetes was gone, I lost 25 lbs of fat, and I have felt healthier than I have in years. Next month, I will be 64, and I have the energy of a 19-year-old athletic man. Try it, and you won't regret it.

10th day on carnivore diet. Went from completely regular food, to eggs, chop meat, bacon, steak, chicken and a little cheese OVER NIGHT. Trying to stay hydrated with water, electrolytes, magnesium, and one tbs apple sider vinegar a day. THATS IT. Probably Zero CARBS, Zero SUGAR. Lost 11 lbs since start. Nothing in inches.. Keto flu started about the 3rd or 4th day. Still feel pretty crummy, but trying to power through. Don't know how much longer I can deal with this Keto flu. I've been testing for Ketosis with the strips and only still registering small amount. I thought I would have been full-blown ketosis by now. I had cancer back in 2014. went thru chemo, radiation, and pumping bottles of Ensure through a tube into my stomach, for three months. If I did that, I have to be able to do this. Going to keep powering thru this. Let's see what happens. They're either going to find me dead on the floor or making a success of this.

Hi Mike. Just checking in on you. Similar start off for me on May 6, so I am two weeks in. I hope you are sticking with it, but if not and you want to try again, may I offer something to consider that just boosted me right into ketosis. I saw some videos on 3 day Sardine Fast. Now, this was not an easy consideration as no one in my entire network has ever eaten a sardine to my knowledge. They were repulsive to me. My I thought...it is 3 days and the benefits looked fantastic. So I did it and I am ecstatic at my progress. I even went back and bought more just to keep on hand, in my car, in a drawer at work. So handy and non-perishable. They were very filling and killed the snarling lion that used to live in my stomach. Sure made IF and ketovore so much easier. I am doing ACV and lemon water with electrolytes since I lean carnivore right now. My Dr Boz ratio has been in the 20's for over 10 days straight. That is unbelievable. Many blessings to you. Keep up the good fight. 💪💪💪

I was never fat or overweight, I’m only 29, but my parents got on this diet from Dr. Berry and haven’t shut up about it. So I tried it, I always work out 4-5 times a week lifting weights, some cardio, some Olympic lifts etc. I’m about 5 weeks into it , and I gotta say I’ve realized things about my body that were so obvious but I didn’t know until now. I was absolutely more insulin resistant than most people. I feel so much better as far as mood, I have more energy from the time I get up to the time I go to bed. I’m losing the fat in places that I haven’t ever been able to shred it off of. I literally have never had visible abdominal muscles until this point in my life and I freaking did it eating bacon? It makes me mad that this diet is being suppressed in basic weight loss media, it’s so simple, and truly effective within a week it seemed like.

Day 6 of this weight loss hack - I've lost 10.5 lb. I'm in full ketosis and burning pure fat. I'm a Type II diabetic, and my morning blood glucose usually runs anywhere between 140 and 180. This morning it was 96! I actually had to skip my diabetes meds because they would have sent me into a hypo. I'm actually starting to reverse my insulin resistance! I haven't felt this good in over a year. If you're looking for these kinds of results, give this a try. It's hard, but not as hard as being fat!

In less than a week all of the liver and heart I used to find appetizing is now hard to swallow again. Bottom line: what/how you eat radically modifies taste and satiety!

I have gone full carnivore and very quickly I lost weigh. I swim every day even when I don't feel like it and I can't begin to tell you how well I feel. I have heard some carnivore ladies that used to calorie restrict all the time (lowkey starve themselves and binge) they gain weight at first because your body is so happy to finally get nutrition, it stores and fixes stuff on the inside before letting go of the fat. Highly recommend walking and if you don't want eggs or beef, you are not hungry. You can still over eat if you are eating things like cheese and heavy cream instead of legit just Meat, eggs, and bacon.

My legs are the same size but look better, like the cellulite is less visible and the lines from my muscles look so pretty to me. I lost 10 lbs initially, and now I gain and lose the same 4 lbs, even so my stomach lays flatter. I may just need to fast, but ever since I started carnivore, I just really want to eat, like my body craves the nutrients. If I try to under-eat or portion control, I'm hungry as heck lol

When it comes to eating, life has never been this simple. I went to the carnivore diet after a neck fusion surgery that left me with a leaky gut due to the antibiotics and opiates. I was unable to eat carbs of any sort without debilitating nausea. It took some experimentation to figure out that meat (animal products) was the only thing I could eat. At the time of the surgery, I weighed in at the hospital at 240lbs. I'm 53 yrs old and 6'1" tall. That put me at about 55-60lbs overweight. I started full carnivore in February, 2019. I didn't go carnivore to lose weight. However, after being on the carnivore diet (on and off) for about 4 months now, I am down to 209lbs. I say on and off as I have been experimenting with various non-animal products to see if my system can handle them. It's amazing what I have found: 1. If I am eating strictly carnivore, I will lose 1-2 pounds a week no matter how much I eat. When I initially went on the diet, I lost 5lbs the first few days. I found later this was water weight lose due to my insulin levels coming down. I do generally eat one large meal only once a day, but because of all of the fat I'm eating, that is as much as I can stand to eat. 2. Speaking of fat, I eat a lot of it. I pick the fattiest cuts of meat, generally ribeye, cooked in tallow and/or ghee. I then melt about 2 tbs of butter on top of the steak. When I'm done eating, I drink any remaining grease on the plate. No joke. I eat all the butter, cheese, bacon, heavy whipping cream, etc. that I want. 3. Prior to the surgery, I was on blood pressure medication and Levothyroxin (for hypothyroid). After some research, I found I don't need to take either of these poisons. I have not taken a single pill, not even aspirin, since late February. My blood pressure is as low as I've ever seen it at 117/76 (last measure) and my thyroid panel blood test shows my TSH levels are well within range. 4. After being on this diet for 3-4 weeks, I noticed a HUGE uptick in energy. I also noted that inflammation in my body disappeared. I used to ride motocross and I have broken 18 bones, including 2 compressed vertebrae in my lower back, so there was a lot of inflammation. I also had brain fog that is gone now. I went from a bitter, angry person, to a happy, energetic person in just a few weeks. I seriously don't think I have felt this good my whole life... or at least as long as I can remember. It's really interesting, I I eat something off the carnivore menu, the weight lose stops immediately. For example, about 2 weeks ago, I was down to 210 lbs and decided to treat myself by eating a Hershey's chocolate bar. I weighed myself the next morning and I had gained 2 pounds and it didn't come back off for another 3 days. I believe it was only water retention, not actual fat that I gained. I also notice my inflammation and brain fog will come back. I have done several "experiments" similar to the above, a single teaspoon of sugar in my coffee, a spoonful of peanut butter, etc. and had similar results. Carnivore is now a lifestyle instead of a diet to me. I don't think I will go back to the standard American diet (SAD), even if I can. As time goes on, I find I'm not craving the other foods as much, so the "experimentation" with non-carnivore is getting less frequent as I care less and less about wanting to incorporate other foods into my diet. Besides, preparing and cooking a steak takes no more than 20 minutes and I only have to do it once a day. My freezer is full and my pantry is empty. Grocery shopping takes 15 minutes and I usually only go about twice a month. I think everyone should try this for at least 1 month. It could change your life for the better, like it did for me. Life is much simpler.

@@loubbenk2895 Yes, you can use those to flavor your meat. Ideally, however, you will go at least one month without them. Afterwards, gradually add them back in if you want. If they don't cause any adverse affects, keep them. What he's describing is the carnivore (previously called the zero carb) diet. It is very effective at resetting your auto-immune system. So, after anywhere between one to three months (sometimes six in extreme cases), you can gradually start adding foods back into your diet, but so as to check which ones cause you problems and which don't. They ones that don't, keep them in if you want; the ones that do, you now know which ones they are and can avoid them.

I'm taking all steps gradually; still feel so weak and nauseated just with the smell of meat & fat. Small portion once a day. I don't know if it's because I don't have my gallbladder, but not good feeling after eating my portion. I won't quit!! This is my best decision in years in order to be healthy. Thank you Dr. Berry.

I tried eating til I was full and it kept spiking my blood sugar too much. Plus it increased my appetite til I was eating up to 6 burgers a night. Had to do a five day fast to get control over my hunger and get my blood sugar under control. Been doing carnivore almost 5 months now. Started keto last year did that for about 7 months before switching to carnivore. So far I have lost 85 pounds in 11 months.

Were you also having buns and ketchup with those burgers? Those are both loaded with simple carbs and sugars. Often, feeling hungry is actually thirst. Try drinking water when you feel hungry after a meal or between meals. Also increase your green vegetables.

Have you tried chia seeds? if you're doing the diet Dr Berry recommended, then you'll probalby just want to soak them in water and drink... each seed expands to 6-8 times its original size, and they are almost entirely fiber ... they make you feel full... but yes- i would be sure to drink a glass of water before and during meals

Massive amounts of protein will turn into sugar in your liver. 6 burgers (assuming 1/4lbs a peice) is 176g of protein. I'm 160lbs 5'10" male and I need 75g protein a day. There's your insulin spike. Try getting more fats, olive oil or avocado oil. I shoot for 140g of fat a day. I do low carb (under 20g a day) and this all works out to 1640 calories a day for me, 20g max carbs and an 80/20 ratio fat to protein (by calories). Not sure what your dieting goals or metrics are, but the high protein is probably the cause of the insulin spike.

@@TheMerlynb My understanding isn’t that they lost 50 pounds on Keto in about 5 months, then went to the stricter Carnivore for about 5 months and lost an additional 40 pounds. They didn’t state the exact duration or the days of the month that they started and finished on, but it seems like they may have lost about 10 pounds more on Keto. Initial weight does seem to come off easier than when you hit a plateau eventually. Maybe that occurred?

I agree. While eating as much as you want is a good way to wean off carb cravings at the beginning, after a while, you should be content with less food. For older folks, I think 3 meals a day is just too much opportunity to overeat, so 2 or 1 meals is a good goal to strive for. Also reprogramming oneself to permit salt again takes a while to implement, because the extra salt can help curb the appetite. I've found the keto diet requires more diligence on maintaining electrolytes. So I've taken up the habit of using No Salt (potassium chloride) in equal proportion to regular salt (Real Salt) to keep potassium up. While I used to think that taking calcium was what was necessary to prevent muscle cramps, I find it takes mental diligence to keep taking magnesium and potassium to prevent cramping. To some degree, I think that the benefits of coffee are overblown a bit, because coffee is an anti-electrolyte, and so if you drink a lot of coffee, you need to drink a lot of electrolytes to make up for what the coffee drains out of you. I don't know what to think about black tea. I also have a theory that one should be taking cod liver oil regularly when eating lower quality beef which might be quite high in omega6/omega3. This is because the cod liver oil has 100% omega 3. So try to rebalance the ratio a bit if you can.
