THE BALL LIED: Why RASHEED WALLACE Won't Make The HOF! Stunted Growth

Спорт

“The Ball Don’t Lie” is a saying made famous by today’s feature that perfectly sums up his career. According to him that is. Now a days Rasheed Wallace attempts to flip the saying in a more positive, motivational way now that he’s a coach by telling kids that when you work hard and do the things you’re supposed to do to get better, the game will reward you by allowing you to see the ball go in a lot more. Using the same sentiment, would that mean Rasheed Wallace’s career was a disappointment? Did he not work hard enough to turn his before its era stretch 4, Hall Of Fame talent into one of the greatest power forwards ever? Because that was the expectations for Rasheed Wallace when he left North Carolina early and became the 4th overall pick. He had all the talent to do so. Did the ball lie on Rasheed Wallace? What Stunted His Growth?

BRO!! Playing for DET is a stunt? I'm done, i can't even. One of the greatest trades of all time for DET. That trade made the 04 Pistons the one team that could beat ANY team in a 7 game series. Shut down Kobe and Shaq.

@@rockfresh5359 a lot of turmoil for the Lakers that season. Gary Payton still thought he was prime Payton coming off the bench. Malone was in peak physical condition for his age, but battled injuries in the playoffs. Kobe and Shaq’s inability to play together boiled over that season. Kobe was dealing with his rape allegations during that season as well. I will go to my grave saying if Shaq and Kobe could have played together like Steph and Klay, or even Jordan and Pippen, the Spurs would have not been the dominant team they were in the 00s and 10s. The Lakers were just that good. However, for Kobe to blossom as who we truly know him as today, he needed to be the leader of his own team. No way he was going to fall back behind Shaq. Shaq also felt the Lakers was his team.

Chauncey Billups next! I think his growth stunts were: 1. Having a shaky beginning being on like 5 teams in his first few season before landing in the D 2. Not flashy/not having a high peak like AI even though he was a winning player 3. Not getting over the hump during 05-08 after winning in 04. A second ring/finals mvp would’ve easily put him in the conversation as a top 10 PG ever

JC despite what some others think, this video is spot on. Rasheed Wallace, along with many others that breezed through the league, had the utmost talent to be far more superior than their contemporaries (Sheed COULDVE been better as a player and talent over C-Webb, KG, Duncan, etc) but HE limited that by being far more provocative towards the referees and ALLOWING their game calls to affect his psyche i.m.o Another stunt of Sheed’s was his persistence to shoot too many 3’s instead of using his amazing ability to use his length and touch in the post. He too often settled being good instead of what he SHOULD’VE become: an all-time great player, a stretch 4 before it became a thing

Rodman had more acolades and won more rings though. I don't see why reputation would keep Wallace out. He didn't hurt or rape anybody and he was right about the refs as Tim Donaghy showed.

I wish specific teams could be inducted into the HOF (obviously, that would create problems sifting out champs and great teams that never made it). I'd put the 04 Pistons there for how unique they were as champs.

The thing most striking about this video is how fast and athletic C Webb was in his first couple years before knee injuries. Sheed was nice and the HOF is for college and pro, so I am thinking he will get in

Sheed is a beast! I seen bro get technical fouls in summer league games at St. Aug when he played at UNC lol. Dude is as real as they come off the court as well. I got a homeboy who tried to sneak record Sheed when he saw him at an auto repair shop. Sheed came at him like "my man, I dont do that recording sh*t". Anyway Portland Sheed would have went down as a HOF. They were so close to beating LA.

This guy was great for the association, for real. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was definitely immature in A LOT of situations. But he was a great teammate and if it wasn’t for the internal politics in the NBA during his career he’s a first ballot Hall of Fame player.

Definitely a HOF deserving career for Rasheed in my opinion for what he has accomplished but like you said he’s the face of technicals & the stigma that comes with it will impact him waiting for his name to be called up to the HOF. Another player request that I feel we all would enjoy hearing your take on their stunted growth would be “Richard Jefferson.” Keep up the great work peace

They put McGrady in who never made it out the first round of the playoffs, said "it feels good to make it out the first round of the playoffs" up 3 - 1, proceeds to lose 3 straight games, gets knocked out the playoffs, left an up an coming team to be the man, collect stats and get paid. But the NBA wants to send a good message about the Hall of Fame?? The NBA is a joke.

Sheed was in what may be considered a golden age of power forwards and his name was still mentioned as one of the very best during that period. I believe he has a more than fair chance to get in the Hall, but it will be a long time from now.
