Is MICHAEL BEASLEY A Pot Head? Why Can't He Find A Job In The NBA? Stunted Growth

Спорт

Michael Beasley entering the NBA was expected to be a transcendent talent, or at least a second star for the Miami Heat. He's accused of being a Pot Head at times, but is that really the reason he didn't turn out as expected? He was a top 3 recruit in the 2007 high school class, but really made his name when he finally suited up for K-State. Immediately Beasley shocked college basketball by the insane numbers he was putting up that we only seen that decade on that level by guys like Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. He was the player of the year in his standout lone season at Kansas State, along with conference player of the year, consensus first team all American and averaged over 26ppg and 12 rebounds. He was signed by the Brooklyn nets most recently, but had to leave the Orlando bubble for testing positive for the rona before even playing 1 game for the team. So what happened to this once promising star? Was it opportunity, work ethic, or was Michael Beasley a POT HEAD? Stunted Growth.

Definitely agree with you as far as him developing more perimeter skills to play at small forward and him getting traded from Miami. Miami is a high class organization where he probably would've developed better as a basketball player and mentally and avoided the "pothead" or" lazy" labels given to him.

Carmelo is a good comparison, Beasley wasn’t given the green light like Melo early on. Melo was a clear cut 3, where Beasley came in projected as a 4. They both were pushed out the league prematurely, but Melo separated himself as a professional. I think that Beasley could do the same, but he’s burned too many bridges. I can see him getting the second unit going, but his lack of defense reputation will hurt those chances.

Michael Beasley is a weird dude overall but having a weird characteristic doesn’t mean that your work ethic or drive is lacking. Nonetheless, this is a clear case of a bad reputation plaguing someone’s life and/or career. Once you get a bad stigma, it is damn near impossible to escape it. I think it's being on a team that's willing to allow players to develop the right way. He needed to add defense to his game as well as the long ball. From my opinion, his biggest issue is weed. Typically, people don’t have an issue if you don’t get in trouble for it. This dude been caught on camera and by the police too many times for a team to justify paying him millions because it seems like he doesn’t care. Keep the weed use on the low, make sure you don’t get a positive test and all will be fine. Secondly, the lack of making plays for others - all he can do is score and he doesn’t even rebound well in the NBA.

This is what I got out of it: NEVER have I witnessed someone who needed help, asked for help, didn't receive any help, didn't understand why he was being ridiculed and condemned by people who didn't even know. He caught me and the Pivot cast off guard with his pain. It actually made me cry I was so sad for the guy and the life he's had to endure. I didn't really know anything about him until recently because I never got to watch him play as I lived overseas during his time in the league. I have come to know how dominant he was coming up and in college. I can only imagine the monster on the court he would have become if he had just received the help he asked for and the love and care he truly needed and still needs. I hope you know people love you Michael.

I listened to a rich gambler one time give away that if guys like Melo or Westbrook were starting, he'd place bets against their team and won over 80% of his bets. He intimated that there were always about 10-20 stars in the game who always submarined their team, and he loved that coaches played them regardless of the record. Easy money.

yeah... doesn't matter if Beasley adjusted and trained like crazy. Riley was going to get rid of him the second he had a chance to sign Lebron. just like the cavs traded Wiggins before he could play his first NBA game, because Lebron was coming back. both teams won rings with Lebron so they made the right choice. and I'm not a Lebron fanboy... it's just what it is, any team would've traded both Beasley and Wiggins in a heartbeat for a chance to get Lebron

This video isn't entirely accurate, Michael Beasley did have one very good year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, proving that he could be a proficient scorer while maintaining an excellent field goal percentage, B Easy just had things happen to him throughout his career but he did show high levels of proficiency while in the NBA

You can be as weird as you wanna be in sports so long as you’re productive and help your team win games when it counts. Look at Rodman. I do agree that not clearly defining or evolving his game didn’t help.

Honestly,Beasley isn't dedicated to EARN himself a spot on an NBA team.If he really loved the game like he says,it would be so easy to put in the work....but he doesn't work on anything when it comes to his skills besides offense......he has this "rockstar" mentality as in "I have nothing to prove"...but that mentality has gotten him to be unemployed, not saying he's broke by no means

I doubt nba teams have any problem with him smoking since it’s allowed in the nba and many other players do it too. Shit, bridges just posted a picture of him sipping “pink lemonade” with a joint and nothings probably even gonna happen. And If it does it will purely be because the “pink lemonade”. I understand rules have loosened recently but there were definitely a lot more people than just Beasley who’s teams knew they smoked. If teams had a problem with that it would effect way more than just Beasley

Bullshit. Their games were very similar. Granted Derrick Coleman was a little longer and taller and Beasley was a little more compact quick and nice on offense... they both displayed flashes of power that made you raise your eyebrows... Derrick Coleman was a much better Defender but they Both were left-handed absolute stars in college that- could have been generational NBA talents that didn't pan out from laziness and or overindulgence / problems with substances and or motivation
