Is MICHAEL BEASLEY A Pot Head? Why Can't He Find A Job In The NBA? Stunted Growth
Спорт
Michael Beasley entering the NBA was expected to be a transcendent talent, or at least a second star for the Miami Heat. He's accused of being a Pot Head at times, but is that really the reason he didn't turn out as expected? He was a top 3 recruit in the 2007 high school class, but really made his name when he finally suited up for K-State. Immediately Beasley shocked college basketball by the insane numbers he was putting up that we only seen that decade on that level by guys like Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony. He was the player of the year in his standout lone season at Kansas State, along with conference player of the year, consensus first team all American and averaged over 26ppg and 12 rebounds. He was signed by the Brooklyn nets most recently, but had to leave the Orlando bubble for testing positive for the rona before even playing 1 game for the team. So what happened to this once promising star? Was it opportunity, work ethic, or was Michael Beasley a POT HEAD? Stunted Growth.

I honestly felt in some of his situations he was done wrong like phoenix and Minnesota but I honestly feel like he did not do what was necessary. A lefty walking bucket. And one of my favorites
Beasley does not play defense, man... this is another weakness in his game. He could be an amazing shot blocker, he was known for that in HS and college but he stopped doing that in the NBA. He only cares about scoring. He played in Puerto Rico recently

Definitely agree with you as far as him developing more perimeter skills to play at small forward and him getting traded from Miami. Miami is a high class organization where he probably would've developed better as a basketball player and mentally and avoided the "pothead" or" lazy" labels given to him.
Carmelo is a good comparison, Beasley wasn’t given the green light like Melo early on. Melo was a clear cut 3, where Beasley came in projected as a 4. They both were pushed out the league prematurely, but Melo separated himself as a professional. I think that Beasley could do the same, but he’s burned too many bridges. I can see him getting the second unit going, but his lack of defense reputation will hurt those chances.
@2waybklyn752

Melo wasted alot of years in New York to be honest out of loyalty to his home and I feel comfortablity. And I am from Bklyn nyc all day but it's true Melo should've been on a championship contending team which the knicks haven't been in year's plus the fuck shit I feel he pull on J. Lin got him now dealing with KARMA.

Michael Beasley is a weird dude overall but having a weird characteristic doesn’t mean that your work ethic or drive is lacking. Nonetheless, this is a clear case of a bad reputation plaguing someone’s life and/or career. Once you get a bad stigma, it is damn near impossible to escape it. I wish him all the best in life as well as the game of basketball.

1st time I saw Beasley, was at University of Maryland scrimmage summer runs. UMD guys, other area colleges, top HS players..I didn't know who Beasley was, at the time. But he was handing out buckets Vs UMD starting 5. So I'm ask what College does he goes 2. I was then told he was about to be a JR in HS...all I need to hear, this guy was a walking bucket then...His lone season at KState was better than KD year. That was a crazy back to back Freshman run.

I remember calling my wife at the time from the gym and saying, DC has it's own Lebron James. I feel like that trade from the Knicks to LA messed his situation up too. Prime Beasley would give prime lebron buckets idc idc idc…. Beasley may not be the best teammate but he definitely a give him a bucket done seen him do it too many times 😭😭😭 beasley was just too hood for the league he didn’t care about the front office 😂
I know people who've been around him since high school his issue is weed. the only time in his career that he cut it out was when he played with the Knicks a few years ago.
My friend had a cousin on that Minnesota team...he said he had the talent to be a top five player with things he seen him do...but the his work ethic wouldn't let him be consistent.

There's a lot of players in the NBA that smokes weed so I'm not sure if that's what really stunted his growth. I think it's being on a team that's willing to allow players to develop the right way. He needed to add defense to his game as well as the long ball. It's hard to believe this dude used to give KD the business back in the day but what happened between then and now?
Straight dawg put him in any locker room or in any practice he’ll look like the best player in the world it’s just about team fit but wit the rock straight bucket EASY
I remember him and Tasmin Mitchell were 2 guys considered can't miss prospects in the 9th grade

Not really wasted, hes a tweener, back then that hurts him way more. He put in what he got out, seemed to stay high. Also pretty bad defense but he did get screwed by some teams it feels.
Mike B is a tweener! Tweeners at the forward position don't have great NBA careers. MICHAEL BEASLEY is an example of that
Wade couldn't wait for his knees to completely go out lol GOD BLESS You man
One of my favorite guys in college basketball history 🏀🔥
Easily one of the most naturally gifted basketball players ever! But didn't work and refine his game, and establish a perimeter game. Tried to rely solely on his athleticism. But Beasley could've easily been where Durant is now, if he put in the work(and stopped smoking so much damn weed). Beasley's growth stunt reminds me a lot like Darius Miles'(and even Andrew Wiggins).
This vid makes me think about Delonte West for some reason . You should do a video on him!

B. Easy still got mad game til this very day...don't be fooled by the Politics of the media & the NBA... Every time I seen him take the floor he was always giving somebody the business...He plays more D than Hardin or Melo he was jus too Street for a Team to invest in him...He still one of the only Dudes I seen that can out score Starters while coming off the bench & having more points than minutes played.. Thats phenomenal if you ask me...💯💪🏾👀🤔🤔🤔
I use to love his game man
From my opinion, his biggest issue is weed. Typically, people don’t have an issue if you don’t get in trouble for it. This dude been caught on camera and by the police too many times for a team to justify paying him millions because it seems like he doesn’t care. Keep the weed use on the low, make sure you don’t get a positive test and all will be fine. Secondly, the lack of making plays for others - all he can do is score and he doesn’t even rebound well in the NBA.
The intro 😂😂😂
Everybody in these comments needs to STFU and go watch Michael's Pivot Podcast episode. This is what I got out of it: NEVER have I witnessed someone who needed help, asked for help, didn't receive any help, didn't understand why he was being ridiculed and condemned by people who didn't even know. He caught me and the Pivot cast off guard with his pain. It actually made me cry I was so sad for the guy and the life he's had to endure. I didn't really know anything about him until recently because I never got to watch him play as I lived overseas during his time in the league. I have come to know how dominant he was coming up and in college. I can only imagine the monster on the court he would have become if he had just received the help he asked for and the love and care he truly needed and still needs. I hope you know people love you Michael.
Beasley was a liability on the defensive side of the ball. I thought he was going to pair well with d wade but it obvious they didn't. I have always felt that beasley wanted to go 1st overall to the bulls and not being drafted by them hurt his ego a lil. He was never the same.

Speaking of OJ Mayo do one of him
Thing is, there are always players who, by how they play, always look good but actually hurt their team. I listened to a rich gambler one time give away that if guys like Melo or Westbrook were starting, he'd place bets against their team and won over 80% of his bets. He intimated that there were always about 10-20 stars in the game who always submarined their team, and he loved that coaches played them regardless of the record. Easy money.
For a vid check out derryck thorton Jr and Paris Austin, og Hoopmixtape legends right there
I think he expected to just come in and dominate like he did in high school and college without having to make many adjustments to his game. Imagine if he did work out. Does Lebron and Chris Bosh still sign with Miami?
@eddybouh2079
2 жыл бұрын
yeah... doesn't matter if Beasley adjusted and trained like crazy. Riley was going to get rid of him the second he had a chance to sign Lebron. just like the cavs traded Wiggins before he could play his first NBA game, because Lebron was coming back. both teams won rings with Lebron so they made the right choice. and I'm not a Lebron fanboy... it's just what it is, any team would've traded both Beasley and Wiggins in a heartbeat for a chance to get Lebron

Honestly,Beasley isn't dedicated to EARN himself a spot on an NBA team.If he really loved the game like he says,it would be so easy to put in the work....but he doesn't work on anything when it comes to his skills besides offense......he has this "rockstar" mentality as in "I have nothing to prove"...but that mentality has gotten him to be unemployed,not saying he's broke by no means
