The Bad Batch Episode 15 BREAKDOWN OH MY GOD

Ойын-сауық

In The Bad Batch episode 15, we get such a huge cliffhanger.
Kamino! It's gone!! Will Hunter and Crosshair make it out of there with the rest of the Bad Batch? Will they get captured by the Empire? Could Vader show up in the season finale?!
This episode was my favorite of the entire series so far. Let's break it down.

I loved the way they handled Crosshair’s anger here. Most movies and shows are like, “you abandoned me and now I’m going to get revenge!” Rather than doing that, though, you get him saying that he isn’t going to do to others what Hunter did to him. It shows some light to his character because it takes a lot to look at things that way.

We’ve all heard George say that Star Wars was ultimately a story about family. This episode made me realize that The Bad Batch is on the same track. We see the boys learn how to care for someone new in their family (Omega) while also trying to redeem another who was already a part of that family (Crosshair). It hit me hard when Crosshair talked about the boys abandoning him because regardless of the things he’s done on behalf of the empire, it shows that he too just wanted to be a family again.

For the fans who has watched since the beginning of the clone wars, watching the kaminoan facilities getting destroyed really is emotional, the scenery showing the empty mess hall, bunkers bring back all those clone wars moments. It is this episode that signifies the true end to the clone wars and marking the beginning to the empire. F to pay respect to Kamino, and shoutout to all those who are reading this comment.

I think there's two big reasons why Crosshair couldn't contact them before: - They scrambled their ship's signal, so Crosshair couldn't just get on the phone anymore. He could only talk to them when he was close by and knew which comm channels they were using. - Even if he could talk to them, he never had an opportunity to talk to them privately. There were always TK troopers in the vicinity who would hear it and report him, meaning he wouldn't get to serve the Empire like he wanted. We even saw how that played out this episode, they immediately went against his orders and he had to kill them. His only option was to manipulate them into a confrontation where they would surrender without a shot being fired.

People fail to understand what Dave Filoni is doing. Omega will be all over all the shows. She's the key to taking down the empire cloning program. She's the rebel alliances cloning expert, not a mere bounty hunter or a kid for the kids market. She will be in the Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Andor and the book of Boba Fett. She's the counter to Dr Pershing and the imperial cult cloners. She will retain her personality because that's what makes her the better clone expert.

This was an incredible episode, but imagine if they had added a scene like this: As Omega, Echo, Wrecker and them are journeying through Kamino in the search for Hunter, they end up taking a short cut through one of the barracks. As they sprint through the barracks, Echo takes a moment to survey his surroundings, and he realizes this barracks is just like the one he used to share with old unit from the Clone Wars (Him, Fives, Hevy, CutUp etc.). At this point, the show shifts to the perspective of Echo, and as Echo stares solemnly at the bunk beds, we see a flashback, where Echo witnesses his old self chatting and joking around with Fives and his other comrades. The flashback continues until Omegas voice brings him back to reality, as she asks him softly if he’s alright. Echo is visibly sad at this point, and as he confides in Omega, he confesses, with Wrecker and Tech listening silently and patiently, that he and his old squad used to sleep and spend time here together, before the rest of them all died, and before clone war ended. This moment is especially sad knowing Fives died trying to expose the secret that lead to all this; Order 66. The flashback to better times, the memory of his dead brothers, the crushing sense of loneliness and the current situation all become too much as emotion begins to overwhelm Echo, and we even begin to a hint of a tear form in Echos eye; until Wrecker saves the day. Wrecker places a comforting hand on Echos shoulder and warmly exclaims, “Good thing we’re your squad now!”. Echos regretful, lonely expression is soon overtaken by a grateful smile, as everyone present embraces the heartwarming moment. Tech, although hesitant to the break up the happy moment, takes it upon himself to remind the crew that Hunter is still in danger, and a sense of seriousness and urgency takes place in the episode once more as the clones hurriedly rush out of the Barracks. I feel like a scene of this nature would’ve been great for this episode because it would’ve made the destruction of Kamino later on in the episode seem so much more crushing and sad. Plus, I’ve personally felt like Echo has gotten very little attention or development throughout the show thus far, and this would be a great way to give him a dedicated scene, while also providing the opportunity to add emotion to the episode as well as an opportunity for Echos relationship with the others to develop. If you’ve taken the time to read this, thank you so much and appreciate, please let me know your thoughts on this, and if you’d make any changes or if you think it would have improved the episode or not.

Since flashbacks really aren’t the Bad Batch’s style, it’d be a little too far to do that. It would be closer to the style of the show if you could faintly hear the everyday chatter of Kamino. Plus, the episode would be too crowded if it was focused on two characters

It makes sense for Kamino to get destroyed, we see throughout the season clones defecting and Kaminoans getting hesitant about their partnership (or lack thereof) with the Empire. Even ignoring the Bad Batch series as a whole, we know that human recruits eventually make up the Empire from the OT, it is hugely in character for Palpatine and the Empire to dispose of something when it has no further use to them; I think a highly technological society which has the capability to create a super-human army that could butt heads with the Empire is #1 on Palpatine’s list at this time to get rid of. And the cherry on top, following this train of thought in Legends there already was a Kaminoan revolt showing the Empire and Kamino/clones were inevitably going to be at odds.

Cross was NOT like this pre chip, in Season 7. Had no problems with his squad. Never would do them harm. It was just with the Regular Clones. Watching Kamino be destroyed was like watching the bombardment of Taris from KOTOR, but this one hits so much harder. We've seen Kamino, the clones who grew, trained, and defended the planet they called home. The still shots of the empty facility is haunting and feels like the place is on the last gasp of breath before it dies. The really sad thing is that it wasn't humans who destroyed the planet, but it was the clones; the same clones who fought and defended Kamino during the war just turned on their planet without hesitation. I'm hoping Crosshair sees how the Empire "values" important clones now. He's so close to redemption but needs one last push. Let's hope that next time he does finally give up on the Empire and the squad is finally united and back at full strength.

I didn't even pick up on Omega telling them she is older than them, but is physically younger. That means she either ages at half the rate of normal humans, or the Kaminoans had a way of giving her the enhanced aging, then could go back and reduce her aging below normal rates. If that is true, it opens the possibility of one of those cloners being able to return any of the Clone Troopers to a normal aging rate.

For the fans who have watched since the beginning of the Clone Wars, watching the Kaminoan facilities getting destroyed really is emotional, the scenery showing the empty mess hall, and bunkers brings back all those Clone Wars moments. It is this episode that signifies the true end to the Clone Wars and marks the beginning of the empire. F to pay respect to Kamino, and shoutout to all those who are reading this comment. honestly, the idea that clones have accelerated aging and have been alive for not much more than 13 or 14 years really saves the series for me, When Omega is wiser or emotionally more mature than them sometimes it makes me remember that these elite supersoldiers have been alive for less than two decades, so they really don't have that much life experience They really did abandon crosshair. The second omega or hunter was in trouble they came to save them, even from KAMINO. They took on commandos for Gregor, and they went into imperial space for that senator. But even after removing the chips they didn't even SPEAK about saving Crosshair. Ahsoka never left Rex on a ship full of thousands of clones, but Crosshair was abandoned and forgotten. I really thought Rex was gonna show up at the start of the episode to reunite with Gregor and then decide to help the Batch rescue, Hunter. It would have been so tragic for Rex to be there when Kamino was destroyed. RIP Kamino In the end, Crosshair is the most PROFESSIONAL of the Batch. He always has been. This was an incredible episode, but imagine if they had added a scene like this: As Omega, Echo, Wrecker, and are journeying through Kamino in the search for Hunter, they end up taking a shortcut through one of the barracks. As they sprint through the barracks, Echo takes a moment to survey his surroundings, and he realizes this barracks is just like the one he used to share with an old unit from the Clone Wars (Him, Fives, Hevy, CutUp, etc.). At this point, the show shifts to the perspective of Echo, and as Echo stares solemnly at the bunk beds, we see a flashback, where Echo witnesses his old self chatting and joking around with Fives and his other comrades. The flashback continues until Omega's voice brings him back to reality, as she asks him softly if he’s alright. Echo is visibly sad at this point, and as he confides in Omega, he confesses, with Wrecker and Tech listening silently and patiently, that he and his old squad used to sleep and spend time here together, before the rest of them all died, and before clone war ended. This moment is especially sad knowing Fives died trying to expose the secret that led to all this; Order 66. The flashback to better times, the memory of his dead brothers, the crushing sense of loneliness, and the current situation all become too much as emotion begins to overwhelm Echo, and we even begin to a hint of a tear form in Echo's eye; until Wrecker saves the day. Wrecker places a comforting hand on Echo's shoulder and warmly exclaims, “Good thing we’re your squad now!”. Echos' regretful, lonely expression is soon overtaken by a grateful smile, as everyone present embraces the heartwarming moment. Tech, although hesitant to break up the happy moment, takes it upon himself to remind the crew that Hunter is still in danger, and a sense of seriousness and urgency takes place in the episode once more as the clones hurriedly rush out of the Barracks. If you’ve taken the time to read this, thank you so much, and appreciate it, please let me know your thoughts on this, and if you’d make any changes or if you think it would have improved the episode or not. It's chilling knowing that Anakin is somewhere out there as Vader. Man, this episode was something. The end where it shows the different areas of Kamino and the music made me have a huge flood of memories of like every episode that showcased Kamino in The Clone Wars. The End of an Era. Now who else wants to punch Rampart right in his smug face! I’m glad they acknowledged this. One of my biggest complaints is how they didn’t have a goal they were trying to reach. They said in either episode 2 or 3 that they “get crosshairs back” but do nothing to make progress in that goal. My theory is that Omega is one of the first clones, and unlike the other clones she has been designed to preserve the genetics of Jango Fett. Hence they value her so much to remake the clone army and why she has such knowledge of how Rex is a first-generation trooper to her being there for the bad batch's births. theory In episode 1, when Tarkin Asked “How many enhanced clones are there?” Nala sa said “ 5 is all that REMAINS” so there were more but they died. Killed me when Kamino got destroyed. So much Star Wars storytelling has occurred because of Kamino. Moments that only true fans will understand. The scene where they showed the rooms on Kamino before the bombardment was like a last glimpse before the depressing end of a nostalgic era of clones. All those moments will be lost in time, like… tears in the rain The Fall of Tipoca City is truly the end of an era and a pretty emotional scene. After all, it's where the entire Clone Wars started. My favorite episode in the series up till now. Honestly, the shots at the end of this episode were absolutely fantastic. Devastating to see Kamino finally get destroyed in the show. What confused me is when Crosshair told Hunter something like “You never came back for me” or something like that I was thinking to myself well you did try to kill them several times they also thought you had an inhibitor chip and how are they even supposed to find you The going down of the place where troops, awesomeness, brotherhood, friendliness, and emotions were created had me crying😭 The partial end of an era. Cry as it ends, but rejoice as it happened ❤ One way that would make this much more sad. During the bombardment, it cuts to the area where 99 was shot and killed during the Battle of Kamino, with red lights flashing just like S3, as the roof caves in, playing a track similar to 99's death but in the format of the bombardment theme. Losing Tipoca City was like losing a main character. Hit me in the feels 😭 Clone Wars... I thank you for all the good childhood memories. Watching Kamino literally getting blasted to pieces made me feel empty inside knowing that the Clone Wars has officially come to an end. Man, this episode hit me in the feels 😭 the shots showing how empty Tipoca City was before getting destroyed were so heart-wrenching... A couple things: I don’t think they’ve had Cad Bane and Boba mentioned without good reason so it’s possible we see more of them, also I read somewhere that someone believes Crosshair will sacrifice himself to save the bad batch. I think it’s a really strong ending, sad but powerful and meaningful and perhaps it will go this way I feel like Crosshair will come back around because Hunter didn’t kill him and stunned him so that they could save him while on the other hand, the empire left him for dead with no second thought.

Well, no one's perfect. Naivete. But he will now won't he. His brothers will inform him as much. And if he doesn't believe them, they can always do a fly over of where the city used to be. Hunter was unaware of the Kaminoan programming of the "Regs," aka inhibitor chips. That is until Tech informed him. The team saw this in action when Wrecker "broke bad," thus succumbing to the overwhelming effect of his chip. And as with the Empire, one can quickly fall out of favor. Or become a liability. With Crosshair it was his loyalty to Clone Force 99. Justifiably. Tarkin will most likely get rid of Rampart, since he is becoming competitive. And with Tarkin this is just not acceptable. Let's not forget what he did to Director Krennic on Scarif. Similar type of situation. Only time will tell, but I think it will go down in Season 2.

Me and my friend never thought that Crosshair was acting like that on his own free will. It was a really good twist for us And the clones destroying their home was just…..wow. Even showing us the place empty before the destruction

Did anyone notice that Crosshair held his head before turning to Hunter after their fight with the droids, just like Wrecker did and like Crosshair did while the chip was activating

On a rewatch it kind of looks like he expected it to hurt but it didn't. He grips it a lot less intensely than he did before, or like we saw Wrecker grip his head when his chip was trying to activate. I feel like it was Crosshair reassuring himself that everything he was about to do and say was of his own free will.

Everyone is also ignoring how Hunter looked at the burn marked and obviously questioned it. I bet the chip got melted and is barely working

The going down of the place where troops, awesomeness, brotherhood, friendliness and emotions were created had me crying😭 The partial end of an era. Cry as it ends, but rejoice as it happened ❤️

One could easily imagine that Tipoca city is for the clones what Alderaan would later become for the rest of the galaxy. The scene of the bombardment of Tipoca City was beautifully made though, downright awe-inspiring
