There are hundreds of species of exotic pets! Some examples include: fennec fox, porcupine, serval, wallaby, boa constrictor, rainbow crab, bush baby, zebra, squirrels, ostrich, kinkajou, macaws, springhare, lemur, leopard gecko, tarantula, capybara, sloth, owl, cockatoo, muntjac deer, lion, short-tailed opossum, raccoon, scorpion, green iguana, and more.
Domesticated exotic pets include domestic rats, hamster, gerbil, goldfish, guinea fowl, Bengal cat, peacock, fainting goats, and sugar gliders.

Yeah, I’ve noticed a lot of their zoo members advocate against exotic pet ownership and are always telling zoo guests that they don’t make good pets. It’s almost as if they’re siding with animal activists on this issue. Animal activists like the Humane Society Of The United States have said the same thing. They both completely ignore that most exotic pets are captive bred. Zoos and pet owners are both targeted by animal rights activists. The AZA and animal activists both claim exotic animals are “stolen” from the wild. These are the same people saying that all animals in captivity should be sent to accredited sanctuaries that they approve of. There are sanctuaries who are members of the AZA, including the Elephant sanctuary in Tennessee.

Yeah, I’ve heard PETA and the HSUS go hand in hand. I agree there is no difference between the two organizations.
How can animal sanctuaries think that people coming to look at their animals is abusive?
Wow! This video helped me learn about the AZA. I never knew until now that they had such a dark secret.
