The appearance of the Autumn Star, Fomalhaut, in the night sky is often used as a signal of the beginning of the autumn season. It is also known as the loneliest star, as it is the brightest star in a large vicinity of the sky. As such, I hope this piece to be a reflection on viewing the night sky alone, observing in silence and in awe of the beauty of nebulas, galaxies, supernovas, and the vast expanse of the universe.
