The ASV Slid OUT of CONTROL.

Sliding down a Bluff & weighing over 12,000 lbs. The ASV RT 135 has 132 Horse power and none of that mattered.

I’ve been running my ASV RC 60 on my rural property in Nor Cal for almost 20 years. Four in one bucket allows for clamping logs, spreading gravel, dumping dirt and piling snow. Best machine ever. Little hydraulic leak, but otherwise pretty flawless. Love these videos.

I’ve worked with compact skid loaders on service and customer issues for 6 years. Mainly ASV. From when they were terex pt30s and TSR50s. These newer ASV units ( rt25, rt30, rt50) are great units. I hope that we get these rt135 in our fleet! Track systems remain the same, but the hydraulic routing and components have been upgraded to make them easier to work on (minus track motor lines). The power this thing has looks amazing.

I have a 6600lbs mini ex. I built a 3' smooth mouth bucket for it years ago. We rarely take it off. I've got a 2' and 12" with teeth also. They hardly ever get used. I bring it up only because you were considering a new mini. That bucket completely changed how valuable the machine became. 1000.00 bucket alot cheaper than a new machine

So far, things are going just like I suspected they would. Running for parts almost as much as running the equipment. (I bought second hand, so I already knew I'd be wrenching a lot.) Ah, just don't do what my uncle did w-a-y back in the sixties. He was 'dozing downhill in a D8 (?), with the winch in free spool and then throwing the winch into gear to stop the 'dozer and winch back to the top of the incline. He snapped the cable. He bought a heavier cable and continued. He snapped that cable. He went back and got the heaviest ****ing cable he could fit to the winch. This time he didn't snap the cable, he tore the winch and part of the transmission off the back of the machine... He bought a new 'dozer. I got this from two different sources - he wouldn't talk about it - one being a guy who worked for the company selling him the cables and then the replacement 'dozer, the other being the guy who recovered the remains of the 'dozer many years later. My uncle was Billy Williams and this happened in the sixties outside Gisborne. The family has lost touch with him since he moved to Aussie in the seventies, and he'll be pushing eighty now, but if he's still alive and anyone knows of him, a heads' up on him would be appreciated.

@@gordowg1wg145 when you go down you never free spool, your mulching not racing. power down and power up. We use a 12ton winch with wire cable with a secondary line on a truck. Some dozers have rear rippers fitted with the winch to prevent such issue. We have never had issues with our system as our winch is over double the pulling weight of the machine with mulcher. I own an ASV and the easiest way to get out of that situation is just to cut the throttle to almost zero, dropping the engine revs and reducing hydraulic flow will enable the tracks to turn without breaking traction with the ground, the ASV will just slowly crawl up the hill. This even works on straight ice.

Good luck finding the RT-135! I've been calling around to find one, when I do get a salesman ... it's always a well I don't know when we will get one and if you order one, it will be 12-14 months (estimated) before delivery. My local CAT dealer says 2-3 months for the 299D3 XE LM. I really want to see one of these 135's with the amazing cab, but they might be driving me over to CAT.

  • @googleboy7

I've been in similar situations. I lifted the boom, tilted the attachment full down pressing into the ground and used it to "inch-worm" back until I got traction. Also keeping a portable winch handy is a great help. BTW I am looking for a side-by-side snow plow. How Do you like the Gravely? Shalom/gw
