His channel is fucking popping off compared to before, his highest viewership on older videos like the rap reviews is 130k or so, his last 3 videos have topped 3mil. Where are you getting your information from exactly?

UPDATE: I see a lot of people having mixed reactions to the green screen, saying they prefer the more serious Halo essay vibes, or less low budget type jokes involving me spinning around and shit. I have a couple things to say regarding those criticisms: this channel will never have an exact style, and that's exactly why I love it. Every week I try to do something a little different, and it's the experimentation that drives me to create this shit. I personally LOVE this video much more than my others, because while I'll agree the green screen usage is very rough and pretty bad at times, THIS video, more than any others, is the best representation of my interests, passions, mannerisms, and humor. Like me, this video isn't even close to perfect, but it is definitely "Jakey" to a very extreme extent. If you came for just the Halo type essays, or just the Rap Review type shit, there might be some stuff that you don't like. That's the price I'll pay for wanting to do so many fucking things, but I have too many damn interests to just be that "one video essay guy," or that "one shitty video game rapper guy." Like I really like serious game discussion, but I'm also a big fan of The Eric Andre Show. I'm passionate about making my own music, but I also love making stupid ass Rap Reviews. I perfectly understand why someone would hate this video (there's so many flaws with it), but at the same time, it (to me) feels like the most honest, and REAL video I've ever made. Regarding experimentation...I say go for it! Its your channel! But I'd reccomend ways to make the flow from one style to another more seemless...basically the key thing to take away is to try and make every desicion feel intentional while simutaneosly cutting out unnessesary fluff from your video! (key word is unnessesary, if your video is just an experiment then don't bother.) Basically, try and make stuff that you yourself would watch if it wasn't your video. Like if you have this one scene that you wanna put in but you know its bad...play around with it till you make it work! Having an end goal also helps aliviate a lot of these issues, as your audience has a better idea of what your idea of a "quality" video is and can join the ride with you! IDK...you might ignore all this, but I think this advice would help you out in the long run. But whatever...its your channel and not mine! :/

I envy you for having nostalgia!! I unfortunately didn't discover the series till last year.. Starting with OOT Now it is my favorite series of all time and OOT is my favorite game of all time and currently on my way to play every Zelda game out there :D

One of my favorite title screens ever is Detroit Becomes Human, where there's this Android girl staring at you and at first she's pretty chill and assistant-like but as the game progresses and the conflict between machine and humanity gets more intricate she becomes unstable, it's pretty cool and unsettling, and when the rebellion begins she asks you to leave and you can let her or not.

There's 2 categories of people in this regard. The first category, like you, doesn't understand why youtubers tell it. The second group is wondering what are you talking about because they don't usually see it. Because for the most part, when I hear "Thanks for watching", there will be nothing of interest after that. For 99% of the time it's the same "subscribe if you liked it, smash that motherfucking ding-dong button, here's my twitch, here's my patreon, my twitter, snapchat, tinder and profile on bigtiddies dot com". Not to be disrespectful, but I don't see how hearing the same thing over and over can be interesting, my view and like are counted, if I ever want any other info I can go on the channel info, and I'd rather spend my time watching Jakey's other videos and smashing likes on them. Sly Cooper is so good at all of this. They're not only stylish (like the entirety of each game), but when you start a new game, you start exactly where the title screen is set. It's always in the middle of a heist or something too, so it immediately engages you in what's happening. I will never not gush about this fantastic, underappreciated series.

I really appreciate this video, i can understand what really makes other games screens to be unique, im making my own prototype as im learning game developing and this has worked me like a charm.

One of my favorite title screens is CrossCode. The music is so peaceful, the sound of the sea and the character looking at the majestic city in the distance, really gives us a great sense of adventure.

I still remember when I was a kid playing StarCraft for the first time. I loved that the main menu is like you being in space, scanning the environment around you. The singleplayer campaign is going towards a space battle between all three races in the distance. The map editor is a new, undiscovered planet for you to explore, and even terraform. Multiplayer is a satellite that might allow you to communicate with other commanders, executors, and cerebrates, and the exit button is a black hole back into the real world. That stuff blew my mind as a kid, and apart from the map editor being gone, I still love seeing that menu look so much better now in StarCraft Remastered.

Oh man, that menu screen, along with the music, just felt so mysterious. I also spent ages just looking at it back in the day. Same with the campaign select screen looking at each race and the biometrics that popped up

big green screen meteorologist style format... I like it but you gotta relax a bit more and figure out what you're doing with your hands sometimes... Other times you're doing just fine, so I suppose just working on consistency. I love you Nakey Jakey. so much.

Honestly, in my opinion, the video would be better off without it. It was really disorientating for me and I lost all focus because I was kind of distracted by too much thing going on in the video. I had to listen to what he was saying + look at him flailing his arms around and other effects + look at the actual video. It's too much, sorry. :(

I agree, especially when you are featuring stuff behind you it is hard to appreciate the visual examples when they are cut off at times. Love the Box Art video and the simple Visual Video, Audio Commentary format.

Hey I love the points you're making but I don't know how I feel about the green screen. Don't get me wrong, you use the script as a comedy prop well, but outside of that I don't know how much it brings to the video and sometimes, when you look at the script it can detract from it and distract from your points. Especially this video as it's more focused on what you're looking at. Basically the essay portion is excellent, the video is less so. Fuckin love your shit though.

I do agree but it doesn't bug me at all. It feels like a good friend in a group telling a great story in class with a shitty presentation or something lol. So all those things like the script in hand and green screen are just kinda part of it.

I really liked the metroid prime title screen for the music and the visuals, it was super badass and told me that I was aboutta get into a deep world

I had to take a break at "'Stui for the straight guy' For the gay man". God damn. Also, I appreciate the green screen. Go with it. People hate change.

One of my personal favorites is just cause 3 The second time I played I was blown away by the fact that it was both seamless and changing. And most importantly that the game was smart enough to give you a new car every time you booted it up. Game’s got a lot of problems, but that’s one of its many successes

The Life Is Strange title screen is so nice & calming that sometimes I boot up the game just to see/listen to the title screen :)

I'm replying to a 3 year old comment but - I was looking for a comment about the LiS title screen, it's so nice, and I also love how it changes between chapters 4 and 5 with the storm approaching. it's simple but effective!

This is my favorite video of Nakey, feels really down to earth and genuine, more so than any other.

I just absolutely love the xenoblade title screens because of how beautiful the music is

I fucking love this green screen stuff. Reminds me of those old 90s video game review shows before the internet was a thing.

Binding of issac rebirth definitely has my favorite title screen/ main menu screen. The fact that all that work you do unlocking achievements gets shown as soon as you boot up the game feels accomplishing as fuck

it's kind of cool to see that youve grown so much as a creator. Reading from your journal straight up to now memorizing the main points on your script. YOURE DOING GREAT SWEETIE

One of the best title screens for me is AC Rogue. The shattered symbol of the creed slowly turns and becomes the symbol of the Templar, while the normal ezio's family theme is accompanied with horns that give it a more royal and military theme. A Templar theme. Then the song breaks from its classic style to signify shay breaking away onto his own path. They could have used another cover of ezio's family, but they chose to make a theme that fit the game better. I also feel like the part of the theme that breaks off is kind of like a bird's song, shay finally free from his cage and flying independent

I really love this video. It shows so clearly that you have such a beautiful pasion for video games

I know it wasn’t made yet but like Detroit: Become Human’s title screen was bomb as HELL because literally Chloe responds to the things you do and her parts in the title screen is a story of it’s own. And as for the music one Sonic Heroes and Super Smash Bros Brawl will always be my favorites. The bumping energy of SH and the cinematic shots and holy ass music of SSBB will stick with me for like, ever.

One of my favs title screen ever is from Halo Reach. I love moving title screens and When I found out the title screen changed and also is kind of moving artwork, man, I love it... I'm lovin it

Exactly. HL2's title screen is really cool with the minimalist UI, ambient music and changing atmosphere. I gotta say though: they improved all of those in Portal 2.

Deus Ex Human Revolution. Dark and moody with the mystic future music and the triangles fading in and out to form a portrait of Adam.

Right the sniper is kind of a visual shorthand for the protagonists mental state

This is my first video of this dude while studying the design of a game title screen and holy shit I've been binging his content for one day and man your content is both educational and pretty damn cool

@@raven75257 clearly referring to the selection screen which that amazing soundtrack and you character standing while Claptrap stuffs around in the BG. So good, I guess it's not really the "title screen" but it is the opening selection screen that U will be spending more time in so I think that's a pass.

Thank you so much for making this video :) You really awakened that child in me that used to get filled with all the excitement in the world every time I'd get back from school, and the first thing that would happen before diving into my favorite game was always one f those beautiful title screens ^^ Though I wish you could have talked more about the MGS1 title screen, it was by far my very favorite one (along with Chrono Trigger ^^)

That feeling when you find a KZread channel you didn't realize was so amazing, and there's now hours of hours of great content available 💜🙏
