I have been studying for a degree for the past 2 years. Nobody knows im doing this. It's to help me get a better job and focus on something important to me. My new-found direction helps me shed off my old life and I incrementally improve my life daily. It feels so powerful to be improving my life so much but nobody realises it.

As a kid, I talked wayyyy too much. As an adult, my partner has a hard time getting me to open up. Life will teach you to close your mouth. Well, it taught me lol

Ok I learned 1. Be vague about things you do make it light and airy. 2.switch the topic from you -change it to something neutral you both can discuss 3. Ask questions about what ‘they’ have mentioned-pick out open ended things 4. Make your boundaries known “that’s not something I’m sharing so may you not ask please”

I had a dream car. I knew the exact model and colour I wanted it in. I told my one friend because why not. She was in a place financially to get the car before myself. I know I don’t have monopoly over a car and she’s free to do whatever she wants but she got it in the exact colour and acted like she didn’t know that I wanted it that way. I’ve learned not to share my goals and dreams with everyone, some people don’t have a sense of creativity or personality so they copy what others do or say. Lucky for me it was only a car that was copied but now I feel like I can’t even talk about careers plans cause this person might decide that they want the job also just because they can’t think of goals for themselves.

Oh my goodness, Urania, these points are so valid. I have noticed that when I share something, there is envy coming from places I would have never thought!!!! I am stunned and have since stopped sharing pretty much anything, too personal. As an example, I shared with an acquaintance, that I have been trying to dress in monochromatic colors. Ever since, when I see her, she will comment 'Oh, that's not a monochromatic outfit, today.' Now, I am always focused on dressing in one color, when I might see her! I have been trying to follow the 'say less' method, also, but sometimes 'slip'. I always feel so badly, afterwards. Someday's, it's just harder. I am a work in progress. Thank you, this was much needed, today.

Recently, I just acted like I didn't hear the comment and started talking about a different topic. It was hard, but there was no there way out!!!! Thank you for your comment.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Moving in silence is the right key because everyone does not have your best interest at heart. And if you're spiritual, their energy can mess up things for you!

I’ve stopped letting people know my goals, achievements, desires, plans you name it! Friends or family I move in silence!!! Don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is doing! I once let someone know my plan and everyone was jealous and it fell through it was tough but a vital lesson I’m grateful I learned 😅 I’ve even gotten to a point my boundaries are set high too and I keep it vague with people especially people who don’t tell me what they’ve got going on. I only let two people watch my Social media story 😂 not everyone deserves access to you sorry not sorry!

I remember sharing with people I thought were my friends about my plans to relocate, it became a big problem that lead to the end of the friendship. Truthfully over sharing is bad, no I will just focus on silently executing my goals, let my results speak for themselves. 😊

Once I told a relative’s wife who’s my age that I wanted to persue higher studies and do PhD…I’m a BCA She was clueless..had very little educational exposure ..somehow passed exam type I explained to her that I want to have a doctorate degree before my name..next time I met her and now she’s saying to me..oh I won’t do B.Ed and other useless things, I just want to do phd..to hv a doc degree before my name as if it’s her thought… And now her husband is helping her do that..and my thought remains a thought

Thank you so much. I mostly move in silence, but sometimes I share my goals with others. Some supoort and some attempt to sabotage. I'm naturally a private person by nature, so when I share, it's a big deal lol. When I encounter a sabateur, it makes me go inward even more, but I'm a work in progress.
