Hi Nancy, I am very very new to painting. Can you suggest ways to make acrylic paint colors into pastel paint colors? ....to make my painting not so bright ....more subtle . Or is there a medium or glaze or something that will help me achieve the subtle look ?

To make your paint colors more muted you can do several things. You can add matte medium to them, you can mix them with some gray (some white and some black paint), you can apply a thin layer of matte or a white glaze over the paint colors after you apply them. You can also just varnish with a matte varnish at the very end as your top coat.
