Saw them together on tour with thrice and it was such an amazing show. Glad I hit the Thursday farewell tour. Wish I could find more bands that I fell in love with like the freshmen of 00-04.

Got to see them on the Full Collapse tour a couple years ago. This whole record is still amazing.

[On the subject of TBS specifically]: Okay, now I regret not checking out any of the post-'reunion' records...John Nolan was always my 'favorite' member (I'm from LI, so I actually got into this band justtt before "TAYF" was officially released) and I loved that 1st record, so I was excited when they got back together...but I was somehow afraid that they wouldn't have the same magic anymore, so I almost didn't even want to hear it. But...they sounded great on this, and particularly the harmonies betwee Nolan/Lazzarra was just like the old days...Anybody have a reccomendation for which of the post original-lineup records is best to start with??

Me personally, I just love happiness is. Has some truly great emotional songs. All the way, better homes and gardens, and beat up car are some of my absolute favorites. Their self titles has some great songs too like this is all now, and best places to be a mom and you can really hear john nolan in a lot of those songs. Tidal wave has some solid ones too like fences and you cant look back, but is the weakest of the 3 in my opinion. Personally, I rank the post albums you are talking about by happiness is, then self titled, then tidal wave. Just my take

Also, as far as "Teen Spirit"...a surprisingly solid version of a deceptively difficult song to cover...the few things they messed up: 1. While the guitars eventually started at the right tempo, once the drums kicked in, they sped up to much every time, 2. The guitar parts during the "Ay" and "Yay" post chorus were wrong, and 3. This isn't a 'mistake', but I think the ideal version of the chorus with the combined band would've been Lazarra singing as he did here, with Rickly doing his amazingly still strong 'screamo' voice

yep. this is probably the worst live studio mixing I have ever seen in my life. Absolutely horrible. I would like to see any band sound decent with this mixing. If Thursday ever went on like Audiotree Live or Little Elephant they'd be solid, without a doubt.

Now that I watch the whole video, the mixing doesn't seem nearly as bad on I Am The Killer (Thursday's second song), but damn something is just totally fucked in Magnets Caught In A Metal Heart. It's a shame because that song is soooo gorgeous.

The TBS singer is annoying AF. Geoff's voice much better suited for "Teen Spirit."
