Taking Back Sunday Choose Their Best Songs You're NOT Listening To
Музыка
#TakingBackSunday #Twenty #TellAllYourFriends
Taking Back Sunday are a bona fide institution. From their captivating emo roots to the solid modern-rock foundation they’ve continued to build upon, singer Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper and drummer Mark O’Connell have offered us soundtracks for our youth-and way, way beyond.
Now we know all about the majesty of “Cute Without The ‘E’ (Cut From The Team),” “MakeDamnSure” and “You’re So Last Summer.” You probably broke or had your heart broken while they were playing in the background. But what about “Flicker, Fade”? “Sink Into Me”? How about “Carpathia”? Well, if we’re being honest, those songs didn’t make it on to the band’s list of forgotten faves, either. But if you’re looking for a deeper 20/20 hindsight toward one of the 21st century’s best bands, we’ve got it right here. #APTV cornered the band in their House Of Blues dressing room in Cleveland and had them discuss their favorite moments.
Lazzara represents for “El Paso” from the band’s self-titled album, mentioning by name the six people who like it, as Cooper chimes in, “It’s only been out for eight years!” The band even fell off the album cuts trail, suggesting some B-sides that were near and dear to them (“How I Met Your Mother”).
Which album came out, according to Lazzara, “at a time when it wasn’t cool to like our band”? Which title was actually a song by Nolan and Cooper’s post-TBS band Straylight Run that was brought into TBS when they rejoined? Which piece does Nolan still have an alternate guitar part for, circling inside his head years later?
“When [a song] is out of your hands, you’ll never know how people are going to take it or react,” Lazzara resigns. Now it can be revealed which Taking Back Sunday cuts are the deepest on APTV’s #DeepCuts.

Miami is the best song TBS has ever wrote! Their musical talent and song writing skill shows the most on that track. From the beginning, guitar solo the breakdown it has a nice touch of elements TBS rarely incorporated into their tracks. So happy to see others agree!
Everything must go is perfect
Jokes on you, TBS, I listen to ALL your songs.
I feel like Louder Now should be recognised as one of the best Punk/Pop/Rock albums of all time. Like Anberlin's Cities. I get that it wasn't the original lineup but Fred and Rubano really crushed their performances on Louder Now. The songs are solid and the production is 10/10 Miami gets me in the feels every time. Spin is hard as fuck and Error Operator is underrated as fuck. (Also Swing from New Again is the tits)
Slowdance on the Inside is my all time favorite TBS song! & the entire self titled album is amazing, it is wild to hear these on this list.

Slow dance is one of my total faves. It has been in loads of my playlists over the years and will continue to be for a long time
they need to do the "Greatest Miss" Tour or a few one-off shows. do the shows in small venues, make it intimate for the die-hard fans, and charge die-hard fans money. should be win-win for everyone!

If you're on the fence about "Everything Must Go" listen to the version from Live from Orensanz. It's beautiful. Slow Dance is and always will be my fav TBS song so sorry can't relate if it wasn't an instant work of ART for ya.
slowdance on the inside is my favorite TBS song, it might just be my favorite song in general. i can't believe anyone doesn't hear it & hear what i hear. it is SO amazing. i wish i could remember my reaction when i first heard it, but i was probably 14-ish. it's meaning has changed throughout my life, but it means so much to me. i love you guys.

I'm from El Paso, Tx. Most Taking Back Sunday fans here love the song El Paso. Especially me lol. You guys have been my favorite band since your discovery
I love Slow Dance on the Inside.. I am just now discovering your older music. It’s been a great time!
Everything must go, Little Devotional and Slowdance on the inside. Those songs are amazing
You got me, this is all now, swing, new again, where my mouth is, and fences amazing songs
Adam & I have the same taste in TBS songs. El Paso is a hard ass song that doesn't get enough love. ♥
Every song mentioned here, I immediately started singing. My roommate isn't a fan, and This Is All Now got him to start listening. And the fact that the self titled album is so underappreciated hurts me. I listened to the album for a month straight when it came out. The album is just so powerful.
All Taking Back Sunday is great. I see Taking Back Sunday anytime they are in the State. See you soon!!
I feel so cool because I am ridiculously into like 90% of these songs. “El Paso” is played at least twice a day in my house....
SINK INTO ME is my favorite!!! Helped me so much thru some really tough times this year!
Wow slow dance on the inside I love that song! I grew up listening to these guys and would have loved to meet them to tell them how much they mean to me. Your albums hold so many memories for me. You guys are heros in my book and i love you like brothers.
I love all these songs! I loved seeing them live when they opened with El Paso, it’s a very good song and even better live. I was just talking about about how I’d love to see them play all of New Again, Happiness Is, and the self titled album.
Some of these songs are great and I'd love to see them played live more often! El Paso is a banger, Slowdance is great as is, but I could dig a re-imagined version too, CMITM, Better Homes and Gardens...I hope the next tour is more reflective of their entire body of work.
Slowdance on the inside is my all time favorite song, period! I listen to it every day still.
I'm From El Paso. I love this song. Such a great opening song bring it back 2020
This Is All Now is still one of my all time favorites
ive been loving "this is all now" ever since it appeared on youtube
Idk what this is worth but just about every single song listed as deep cut , "underrated", or not a crowd fav are my jams! They speak to me!
I love el paso! Better garden and homes was the first one I loved from Happiness Is!
Some of their best songs are the deep cuts. All the Self-Titled deluxe edition demos are incredible, so it's so cool to hear them mention You Should Have Waited. Slowdance was also my favorite song for more than half my life, so also really sweet to see it mentioned. Also, people sleep on New Again sooo hard. "Carpathia" and "Swing" are some of the best TBS songs period.
Follow the Format is absolutely the right answer.
El Paso and This Is All Now are my two favorites off of the self titled album, and Homecoming and Eveything Must Go both give me chills on occasion.
I love call me in the morning so much! Well done❤️
El Paso is very different but it definitely became one of my favorite songs! Tbh it took me a while to appreciate the self titled album. Wasn’t me ever going through a “uncool to like tbs” phase cuz I still state them as my fave band of all time. I just didn’t click with the album at the time, but I love it now.
I love Since Your Gone, This Is All Now, Call Me In The Morning, Everything Must Go and every singly song on Where You Want To Be. I can't get into any of the other one's listed. They do the best concerts if yall get the chance, they were amazing in Atlanta last month.
Man you should’ve waited is such a BANGER man. So underrated
This Is All Now was absolutely one of my favorites when their self titled came out. It's such a beautiful song. Everything Must Go is fantastic as well. I think people that don't know these songs are missing out.
I love who are you anyway! Literally listened to it the other day!
This band has been the anthem of my college years and I had no idea I was vibin with Mick Foley
I have always loved El Paso since it was released before the album
Man, these guys are super bummed we weren’t as stoked on the record as they were. 😂
Self titled is my fave album by them and I love El Paso, it’s my alarm clock song and I wake up to it every morning
Dude I’m glad they said “How I met your mother”. That is such a good fucking song and I can’t believe it’s not one of their biggest.
El Paso is my favorite song from that album. I got so excited when I first heard it. It was the first song on the album and I just thought it couldn't get any better than that.
All of those deep cuts are favorite songs of mine from those records. I never thought of them as underappreciated songs because I thought they were great. The self titled album is definitely underrated. I wish they would play all of them live.
That look was priceless, don't let me get carried away
The blue channel, not sure how popular it is now but its always been one of my favorites. Very catchy.
Their "deep cuts" is just the entire Self Titled album
This video reminds me of the time I saw them play live, and they played mostly new songs at that point, ( I can't remember if the songs where mostly from the self titled and maybe they had released another album, or it was just the self Titled at that point) but the crowd was dead. I had never seen than at a TBS show before, it felt like an entire set. They took a break, came back and played old material and the crowd was wild all the way through after that.
I think the reason why the S/T didn't gain much love was that it was the first album with the sound TBS is associated with now. People weren't particularly ready for it, and the sound wasn't as refined. By the time Happiness Is was being recorded and then put out, there was a more defined sound that we all now love. I'm sure if the band re-recorded the entire S/T album and worked with Eric Valentine again (great recording engineer btw), as hard as the recording process can be, it would gain a lot more traction than it did originally and could maybe pay off.
Since You’re Gone is one of their best songs. An acoustic version of this song would fucking KILL especially live.
...Slowdance is their rendition of Soco Amaretto Lime. The beginning of the track, the chanting, the same melody at the iconic outro... “One of us never did it, but we’re taking it all.” “Just jealous ‘cause we’re young and in love.” Of course the other band is... well, you know how that ended.
My burned copy of where you want to be was backwards so every time I put the album on a device or listen to it I listen to the tracks in reverse order. Makes the album even better than it already is.
"call me in the morning" it great ..iLuv it...it the best👍👍👍
This is all now is one of my favourite songs!!
I don't think there is a single Taking Back Sunday that I don't like. Absolutely my favourite band, I'm so grateful that I got to see them for the first time a month ago!
I love every single song they have mentioned, but having said that, Everything Must Go is the most under appreciated song ever.
That is so crazy bcs This Is All Now is of my fav songs of theirs!!
Everything must go is one of my favorites!!!!!
I love El Paso so much, it's one of their heavy songs and I live for it
This is All Now is still my favorite off the self-titled. Better Homes and Gardens is my favorite off Happiness Is 😄
Call me in the morning is a piece of art.
