I really like this - anyway I can get in touch with him. We have a KZread channel that focuses on that. Would be interesting to have people like him in our circle!

I think this is great, and I respect the vision and work of the staff of Generations. I fail to see how this changes the face of education in South Africa, re: access to tech and internet for disadvantaged students... isn’t this the tile of the post?

This is brilliant, I have teachers in the family and to add to this problem is that some kids are totally loosing respect for their teachers.

I'm just going to be honest here, there is a ton of things that happens before assessment, if changing the way we assess children or people is the solution to the problem then that tells me that we want to find ways to force people to pass and exit the system. Can I be even more honest here, assessment doesn't mean anything, the only value assessment gives us is an indication of whether or not the learner understood the program, assessment will not guarantee success. Success is guaranteed by the quality of the program and how much of it was understood by the student , if the student cannot use the tools they have been given practically in life and the workplace then it doesn't matter what type of assessment they did or if they passed it or not. Assessment is important, but not nearly as important as the quality of the program that is given and the way it is presented which would effect whether or not the student understands and as a result be able to preproduce the desired outcome the program was designed to achieve, if we can do this then we can look at different forms of assessment, but on it's own assessment will change nothing...
