+Guerrero I'm no expert, but as I recall, the assassination forced Germany's hand. Due to their allegiances and the condition of their allegiances, they were forced to act and come to the aid of other countries they happened to be allied with, it's just Germany was the strongest of that alliance and therefore the front runner, so of course they were the most memorable force. It's also important to note the Treaty of Versailles was absolutely fucking bullshit, (if I recall correctly, it even sought to "cap" their economic growth so they can't become too powerful) so it's actually quite understandable why the Germans were so pissed off about it and how it helped set the stage for someone like Hitler to actually be heard. In that sense, while they were definitely the aggressors of WWII, the constraints of the Treaty of Versailles absolutely did not help in preventing further conflict.

I'm just going to write the whole history down as I recall it. the Balkan areas already were at a high-risk state because of the Ottoman Empire, and every European State more-or-less despised the Empire. Especially the Slavic people wanted to detach form the Empire. Serbia wanted a big serbian Empire, but that also included the serbians which lived in Austria-Hungary. 1908 turkish Officers rebelled against the Sultan and Austria-Hungary annexed Bosnia and Herzegovina. Because of that Serbia saw Austria-Hungary as an Enemy and threated Austria-Hungary with war. Russia also felt attacked, because of their interests, but Germany warned Russia not to help Serbia. Now we come to the assassination. The aspiration of Serbia to have a big Empire always annoyed Austria-Hungary and with the assassination of the Prince they had a good reason to settle the score with Serbia. Germany didn't think that Russia would get involved in that matter and they gave Austria-Hungary full discretionary power. Austria-Hungary then sent Serbia an ultimatum: Among other things Austrian-Hungarian officials should get involved with the investigations of the assassination. Serbia didn't want that the officials of Austria-Hungary get involved and because of that Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. Russia, against the speculations of Germany, helped Serbia. Germany then declared war on Russia and France, being the allies of Russia. At start of the war Germany immediately assaulted the neutral Belgium to defeat France from North. That assault on Belgium was the cause for Great Britain to join the war on the side of France and Russia. I think Germany is called key aggressor because of the immediate assault on Belgium

Reason why its Neutral is because during the early 19th Century, a Neutrality pack after the Napoleonic wars was in placed. Switzerland continues to this day in following the pack. There is no reason to invade it in ether world wars because the Civilians of Switzerland (Those who been in the army) Get to keep their guns. Also Countries have little to gain from invading Switzerland due to it being a country based on trade and it being a land locked country. With the Added Bonus that the Swiss Alps covers the Land scrap practically from all sides so Massive amounts of invading Troops practically could freeze to death or get lost on the mountain. Switzerland also Fortified some regions with Anti Aircraft Guns and Cannons so it would make it even more difficult to invade. In the end, Its not worth it because Diverting such resources to attack the small land locked nation could affectedly hurt the enemy's victory in the war.

The reason why poles call Germany “Niemcy” is not because of the lots of smaller regions in Germany. Niemcy comes from word “Niemy” with means Muted/somebody who’s not talking. And the history of it is the fact than German language was really hard to understand and for us it Sounds like two muted people try to talk each other. Even word “Niemcy” you can understand like a group of muted people.

This is really great for the most part. The one part you could have addressed a bit more was the failed German revolution 1830-1840. That period of our history is often glossed over but it is essentially where all the troubles that eventually let to WW1 and WW2 originally started.

It's a nice little vid about the history of Germany. You could obviously include much more than that, but you tried to cover 2000 years of history in a few minutes. But you made one minor mistake: When you showed the raise of nationalism in Germany after the Napoleon, the flags should be black red gold or gold red black. Just look up the pictures of the "Hambacher Fest" or the german revolution 1848.

Im happy he took the Imperial one...it looks nice and its not even that wrong... It would be way worse if he took the imperial flag for nazi germany...wich do quite alot of people for some stupid reason

It had to be a name The people didn't imagined a "Kaiserreich", when they dreamed of a unified Germany in that time, though. This is the reason why I think this part gives a wrong impression of the motives of the people. The Kaiserreich itself stand for colonialism as well, just to give one example. And the actual design of the flags were not that important, it was just the beginning of nationalism in Germany after all.

Its kind of interesting to see how they were basically stuck in between larger nations disagreements. France, Germany, England even Spain.)

Finland not really, they briefly worked together, against Stalin, but they had little to no sympathy for the axis and did not went further, after they reconquered the territories they had lost in the Winter War, plus unlike the totalitarian axis powers they were democraic. Soviet Russia also worked together with Germany against Poland, but that did not make it an axis power.

England, France, Italy etc had a big history but spanning about 500+ years. Good job Germany, you were just a crippling nation 100 years ago, then was divided and Finally became unified just 30 years ago and now a major global superpower, economically and diplomacy

It was deliberately named something akin to "Liberal Conservative Nija Pirate Robot Party" (ie a bunch of mutually exclusive qualifiers) to attract the ignorant masses. Yo Average Nazi party voter was either uneducated or newly rendered poor due to the great depression, spanish flu etc. (quite like the average Trump voter) - they never had that huge of a majority but the rest of the system was too unstable and too busy with infighting that they couldn't contain the loons. That's why when they drafted the new constitution after the war they made sure it was as close to foolproof as they could get, perhaps going a bit overboard in a way that disadvantaged small parties in order to keep out fringe groups and prevent a super fractured parliament.

Pointing out a mistake - The Romanian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia are indicated as part of Austria (Austro-Hungarian Empire) in the period around 1804-1866, and this is incorect - until 1877-1878, the suzeran empire of those states was the Otoman Empire (and, sometimes, the Rusian Empire apeared as "Protective Power"), and after that, they become independent (Romania) - only parts of the present day Romania (such as Transilvania, and part of Bucovina) had been controled at that time by the dual monarchy of Austria and Hungary
