Interesting how nonchalantly he describes the cold blooded murder of the two captive pilots. Very gallant.

I’m relieved I’m not the only one to notice this brutal, cruel, cowardly, hateful, and remorseless murder of two Navy flyers. Especially in the face of such carnage and humble impotence. He mourns empathetically with tears for his severely wounded comrades yet mentions a hateful cowardly murder of the flyers so casually. These guys really hated Americans .

Yeah, you feel a lot of sympathy for them right up until that point… In Texas German prisoners of war used to come back and hold reunions, for years! They only stopped when they got too old.

Fuchita's timeline is proven false by flight records offloaded during the sinking of the carriers at Midway. Jonayhan Parshall wrote extensively on it. Japanese veterans concur.

"Kharmic retribution"? That doesn't sound like an authentic thought of a soldier/sailor/airman at war & witnessing the terrible deaths of his countrymen with his own risk of dying very high.

I have listened to dozens of these. Did these guys ever eat anything other than rice!!!? Even when they call it something else, it's rice! One moretiny point that shows how much better Americans had it.

Great American intelligence, brave American pilots, many giving the last full measure. Mistakes happen, in war, and fortunately, the Japanese made more mistakes than the Americans. Midway as close but American won and it was a turning point, in the war.

It’s a bit strange how the narrator, which I assume is software, can pronounce Japanese names pretty well but screws up basic English words.

The US sort of suspected Midway but they weren't sure. If they had known, they would have fortified Midway better. They didn't handle the attacks in an orderly way which kept the Japanese from launching another attack ironically. There was a lot of bad timing on the part of the Japanese. The Japanese trusted their codes too well. Seriously, what was there to figure out? Midway was a major target.
