The narrator was incorrect on what happened at Midway. The IJN Fleet was sighted early by a catalina scout and land based bombers left from Midway and tried to nomb them but the ships evaded the high altitude bombing. Even B-26's with torpedos were tried and missed. zNagumo switched to a Nprtheast course, he did not continue toward Midway. This almost made the Midway and Yorktown planes miss finding the IJN carriers. But they got lucky and 3 IJN carriers were sunk.

Hara is wrong about USS Helena. It fought off the 3 destroyers after the Amatsukase and came away with only minor damage.

@@mkunes2502 no. Helena was not savaged in the Nov. 13 battle. Came out of it better than all the other US cruisers.

@mkunes2502 if you are referring to the Battle of savo island it was in August, not November. Names are confusing as almost every battle was near both Savo and Guadalcanal, I believe the battle of Friday the 13th of November is the First Naval Battle of Guadalcanal. Which makes no sense.
This is a story from the Battle of Santa Cruz.

It includes several battles at Guadalcanal. They include the Battle of Santa Cruze. Admiral Norman Scott's famous battle in which his ships crossed the Japanese T in another savage night battle.The vicious battles of November 12-14 are recalled. The narrator definitely recalls the Japanese perspective... you would believe the IJN won.... am still listening and am waiting for the only battleship v battleship battle in the Pacific War (I do not includevthe savage slaughter at Surigaou Straight in which an aged IJN battleship was ambushed by a bazillion PT boats. destroyers, Baltimore Class Cruisers, and a gaggle of refitted Pearl Harbor survivors.
Juneau was sunk by a Japanese Sub.

I suppose because it was a detailed account of several important Naval Battles off Guadalcanal and demonstrated that attrition was an ally of the USN.
