THE AMAZING STORY OF THE ELEPHANT WHISPERER

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of 7 'rogue' and ‘trouble-making’ Elephants on his reserve at Thula Thula in 1999, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival - notorious escape artists, they would all be killed if Lawrence wouldn't take them. He agreed, but before arrangements for the move could be completed the animals broke out again and the matriarchand her baby were shot. The remaining Elephants were traumatised and very angry. As soon as they arrived at Thula Thula they started planning their escape.
As Lawrence battled to create a bond with the Elephants and save them from execution, he came to realise that they had a lot to teach him about love, loyalty and freedom. Set against the background of life on the reserve, with unforgettable characters and exotic wildlife, he wrote The Elephant Whisperer, a book that appealed to animal lovers worldwide. The original herd of 7 Elephants has now increased to 29 Elephants, the maximum sustainable capacity of Thula Thula.
Thanks to the local community, Thula Thula has the opportunity to add a further 3500 hectares of land to increase their habitat.
This solution requires 35 km of electric fencing as well as roads, increased security, guard training, security equipment and vehicles, conservation, land management and the list just go on, to keep the wildlife safe. Community projects such as this, not only support the wildlife but also improve local employment and education.
PLEASE HELP ME REACH MY TARGET TO HELP THE THULA THULA ELEPHANTS BY KINDLY DONATING TODAY AT

Thank you for your support, Paul.

People say we should "give this man a medal" or "make a movie out of this". But honestly, one way to respect this person's wishes/ Lawrence Anthony's wishes is to do what he did to the rest of our world. Care, give back and help the people and animals around us. Prevent harm from happening, and start to heal this world that have us so divided. Treat each other and animals how you would want to be treated.

We underestimate the ability of animals to understand and relate to us. Communication is not about language or words, it’s a feeling that emanates from us. Someone can tell you they love you but you can feel it when they hug you whether they really do or not. Elephants are highly intelligent and intuitive. It takes the right person to appreciate that so that they can communicate without words. God bless a special man. We need more like him and all areas of life.

They had good reason to fear humans - hunting plentiful game is one thing, but hunting big game going extinct for trophy is another. Will hunters start killing adults once they finish killing off the elephants, tigers, and bears? Big game hunting decimated the great Buffalo [bison] 🦬 - we humans refuse to learn from history, and we hate change - like the song says everything must change. . .

@@SilentHotdog28 I would argue that Orcas are smarter cause not only come up with games that have nothing to do with survival(or self-destructive bullying of their own kind like Dolphins), but despite easily being able to kill us like Great White's, they are all told by their parents and grandparents to avoid attacking humans at all costs just because they know humans have weapons and don't want a bad reputation. In other words, among the few species that become grandparents without giving birth to more kids, grandma killer whales understand the concept of good Public Relations. That's pretty advanced. (That being said, both orcas and dolphins are unhinged sadists. Manta rays are the go to sea animal when it comes to being close to our intelligence and not using it for sadism.)

Ok now im in tears. God has taken another Angel home. What he did was extraordinary and one of the best examples of what a human can be. For those ppl standing and waiting outside the fence, maybe one day when they get in front of our maker they can explain the hate in their hearts. This is an amazing story ❤️

Just think, the elephant was probably thinking “why is this little creature screaming in my direction looking at me and waving his arms? everytime I get near this fence?? Why is he not attacking me? Does he see danger I don’t see?” I think they’re that smart. Surely they’ve heard what agony and peril sounds like in the wild. It must of recognized the tone like he said

SUBKHANALLAH, Had to look up this story after listening to Hamza Yusaf, and it's true that if you look after the Earth and the Animals etc etc then even the Earth and the animals will respect you, look at how these elephants knew that he had died and came to pay their homage and respect to the man, as Muslims we should ALL be jealous of this man in a good way and if All of us were to respect the Earth and the environment God would send his blessings onto the world
