I love this movie too, I did the same thing, watching it in preparation for No Way Home, and I was amazed (no pun intended lol)- I had no idea it was so good or that it had such an all-star cast. And Andrew Garfield is just delightful! And I love that Gwen was allowed to be more of an active participant in this movie than MJ was in all 3 Tobey movies. This one is definitely underrated!
@aaronboone8097 Жыл бұрын
This movie is amazing, pun intended. I just love how they made a unique story while still hitting the necessary beats to make it an accurate spider-man movie. You have to kill uncle Ben and you have to have the Peter Parker love interest and all of the complications and consequences of your secret identity. But the way they did uncle bens death and how they showed Peter’s grief was way different than the Raimi movies. And my favorite part of the movie is instead of torturing you with the same frustration of wether Peter should tell the girl he’s Spider-Man, he just tells her immediately. And then the complications and consequences of that unfold in a new and fresh way.

Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is very very good and he and Leary have great chemistry. Their blowup at that dinner table was great and felt very authentic. As someone who grew up with the Tobey Spider-Man, this reboot of Spider-Man is, in my opinion, miles better than the original triology. The acting is better, the dialogue is better, the story is better. The CHEMISTRY between Peter (Andrew) and Gwen (Emma) is FAR GREATER than Peter (Tobey) and MJ (Dunst). Andrea and Emma nailed their first time around what Tobey and Dunst had 3 times/3 chances to achieve and never got there. This Spider-Man is darker than the last, a lot more pain, sorrow, trauma. It's too bad that people didn't care for this version when it came out. Can't wait for you to see the second one.

Guurl, your screaming had me dying..😂😂😂 I know Dennis Leary since way back as an Mtv personality and sometime vj. Back when Mtv made music. He had a routine where he'd complain about something loud and fast and then have a smart mouthed solution. He did that in Demolition Man, for example. Then he turned into a serious actor and was great at it. The Amazing Spiderman movies didn't get a fair shake because people were too bias for Tobey's movies. Andrew played him differently because he was a different variant of Peter Parker. The only constant things were: fate to be bitten, trauma and tragedy leading them to their hero arcs. But, each did a great job in their own respective parts and didn't deserve to be snubbed for one over the other. I appreciated the difference because you can rehash the same material until it's too boring. That's why Tom's story arc skipped it in his introduction in Captain America: Civil War. We all know the back story...so they opted to skip it. Tom plays a mid high schooler so it was great to approach Peter's character from the angle they haven't used yet. The first one was a senior who was off to college and working. The other one was a Junior with deep parent separation trauma. And Tom's was a sophomore, who was yearning for normalcy but felt the need to work with other heroes to make a difference. He was the epitome of a teen trying to become an adult too soon. Granted, Tony gave him a push to be kind of out of his league, but he kept up enough. I fully enjoyed your reaction to this, and can't wait for the reaction to the second one.

Peter's high-school life could've been more convincing if it hasn't been portrayed in such a mean-spirited way Most of the students were portrayed as being successful in more ways than he is, and bully him just to make us feel sorry for him, because "everything will work out for him in the end" I mean, no teacher or adult was around when everyone was gathered to see Flash torturing that kid or beat up Peter, and they only show up to punish Peter Usually, a mean-spirited story is the result of lazy writing

My favourite Spider-Man movie! Andrew is my favourite Peter/Spidey and the chemistry between Peter and Gwen is sublime. Say what you will about the future but I genuinely think this one is fantastic. I'm so glad it resonated with you the way it did with me 11 years ago 😊

Wow after all this time watching your reactions I never knew you had the same take as me regading The Amazing Spider-Man. Also my favourite Spider-Man, favourite Peter, uncle Ben, aunt May, soundtrack and love interest. The only thing I would change bit in this movie would be perhaps the lizard's plan but dispite thinking ut could be a bit reworked, I still think it is pretty solid
I love when people see the greatness in this interpretation of Spidey
My favourite Spider-Man! Peter and Gwen forever!
this is also the first time a villain doesn't die at the end of a film
"He better not fucking die in this movie" But he's Uncle Ben!!! "I fuckingg love Dennis Leary! Oh. Dear.
History says uncle ben doesnt ever really have a happy ending. Safe to assume if Ben is in it, hes only in it for a moment lol
This is my favourite part of every Spiderman's movies which was produced. I watched this movie like a 1000 times. It gets me emotional every time i am watching it. Your emotional reaction increased my emotions so i literally was crying during Your video. This Spiderman's version, the music, Andrew's and others actors acting and concept is the best MCU single-hero (not crossover) movie I have ever seen. Every time after watching this movie i need about half of day to calm down. 😊 The coming out scene to Gwen is masterpiece. Greetings from Poland. ❤
I watched this and the sequel with my dad one night a few summers back and I have such a special place for it in my heart.
This movie is so underrated
RIP James Horner
It REALLY hits hard after watching No Way Home and Across the Spider-Verse now.
Gwen is probably the best love interest possibly ever
The crane scene gives me goosebumps and makes me cry every time!!
Now that people seem to have move from their perception of Tobey’s Spider-Man, it’s nice to see Andrew get the love his EXCELLENT performance deserves
Aaaah!❤😃I was secretly hoping you'd love this as much as I do. I LOVE this movie too! The impactful, profound, emotional beats in the writing, the stellar acting from everyone, Andrew's portrayal of Spider-Man AND Peter, the swinging practical effects & _that_ chemistry/rapport between these two romantic leads. Just gorgeous! I saw this for the first time 2 years ago & was shocked at how well-written, moving & wholly enjoyable I found it. Especially considering the public consensus.
I remember seeing this in theaters in 2012. Andrew Garfield is my fav Peter Parker 🤭
Your enthusiasm is contagious! I’m so happy you enjoyed the movie as much as you did!
"oh no we got problems" the Spider-Man mythos in a nutshell lol
I so need them to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3 ....
Really appriciate Flash scene where he apologises
So excited you're doing this one! The second one has it's up and downs, but it's still a good watch that I recommend. Thanks for the smiles today
Andrew was made for this lol he's so good. I still love The Amazing Spider Man. (It just dawned on me this movie is 11 years old as of writing. 💀)
There is a universe out there where Gwen was bit by the spider. 👀
Andrews Spider-Man movies are my favourite. It was so sad when people were sleeping on them for so long.

I just finished the video and i'm SO happy you loved it! I'm looking forward to next week Jess. Thanks for this!!!!!
I adore Tobey. The nostalgia those movies bring me is unmeasured. BUT... Andrew is Peter/Spider-Man for me. Idk why. Something about him. Though the second movie was... not great... he and Emma were fantastic. I wish it would have been a great movie or that they would have moved forward with him at Disney. However, I have loved Tom Holland. I truly hope we get another movie for Tobey and Andrew one day.
I have always felt that Andrew was somewhat of a poor Peter Parker but an amazing Spiderman. Seriously, all his joking around just the way he is while in costume and as spiderman is perfect to his comic versions.

I definitely agree, as someone who read spider comics as a kid and young adult this version of Peter was definitely way off for me but Andrew was great as spider man.
Always love your reactions! From Supernatural, to The Walking Dead. Your always a highlight of my day
I always thought that this version was underappreciated

I think that's because of the next film which kind of tainted both films

@@cooluncle4242 which is sad and stupid and shows how hiveminded people are because the second movie isn't even terrible or bad just messy.
24:42 The majority of people that I've seen reacted to this movie made this joke saying he got bitten by the love bug! ❤🤣
Andrew got alota sht for how the Amazing series went down when it was just Sony executives fault but man was pretty close to comic accurate Peter. And the Peter/Gwen relationship was more real, that chem was there ; same thing with Flash
Andrew Garfield is amazing as Spider-Man
*Sees Martin Sheen, as Uncle Ben* “oh my God I love Martin Sheen, he better not die!!” All of us: Uhhhhh honey he’s uncle Ben lol.
I love this movie! 💙 I think it's my 2nd fav spiderman movie behind Spiderman 2 ❤ This one just gets me in the feels every time, especially durung the bridge rescue scene, crane scene, and final fight + Gwen's dad's death 😭 it has a lot of passion and heart 🥲💙
I'm late to the party, but man, I love Andrew Garfield in EVERYTHING!
Favorite Spider-Man
One does not state the nature of power and responsibility to Peter Parker if one wants to live. - the rules of Spider-Man.
I already see the tears for the next one hahaha love it!
Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man is very very good and he and Leary have great chemistry. Their blowup at that dinner table was great and felt very authentic. The problem with this Spider-Man incarnation was entirely they were rebooting the character too fast. I actually like this Spider-Man the best compared to Toby's and Tom's. Though, all three did a great job.
I Love this movie so much!
I think what we have here is the Star Wars prequel effect. Where the bitter adults were complaining about the movies but the teens and kids watching it loved it. Then when they grew up they can now clap or cheer for their loved character. Same thing happened to Haden in Star Wars and Obiwan, etc and now with Andrew.
Can’t wait for Part 2.
Also Avatar: Way of Water is a really good movie to check out! Idk if you've seen the first movie or not but I do think the story of both movies would resonate with you. It's a lot more than just visuals, although those definitely take the cake on the whole series!
It's been said that Tobey was the best at playing Peter Parker and Andrew was the best at playing Spiderman. But, Tom Holland is the best at playing both. No one has embodied both personas as well as him. Tobey brought SM to the screen, Andrew brought SM to our hearts and Tom brought SM to life.
My best Spider Man is Andrew Garfield for sure. They need a 3rd Amazing Spider Man with a Mary Jane.
Wonderful reaction again you are so passionate love it
My favourite live action Spider-Man movie! (Spider Verse no.1)
As someone who grew up with the Tobey Spider-Man, this reboot of Spider-Man is, in my opinion, miles better than the original triology.
Other people might love Tobey version but I love Andrew version of Spider-Man the most.
the soundtrack is amazing !!!! the best ever !!!!!
The only movies that show movie Spider-Man fight like comic Spider-Man
I love, LOVEEEEE Andrew's Spider-Man! And Emma's Gwen! And their chemistry! You have no idea how happy it makes me see that you enjoyed the film and the acting as much as I did, Jess!!❤
2 out of 3 Spiderman's have been Brits. Woohoo! 🇬🇧
500 DAYS OF GWEN
I fully enjoyed your reaction to this, and can't wait for the reaction to the second one.
andrew is the best spiderman even im a fan of tobey yeah tobey is classic buy andrew is so amazing even the cinemathography and the web swinging👌
You also should watch Hacksaw Ridge with Andrew Garfield, if you didnt watched it until now. Its a really strong movie
Great reaction
Spiderman 4 would be nice but after no way home we need that Amazing Spiderman 3. ASAP.
One of my favorite ❤
Part 2 plsss 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨
The amazing Spider-Man movies are so damn overhated- still my favourites of the Spider-Man movies
Have you seen Into the Spiderverse yet?!?
This Movie is great i love rewatch it, sad the second has a lot of problems =\
Andrew garfield is a really likeable peter parker and great spider man. I just don’t quite believe him to be a nerdy character as much as toby maguire. Glad you love it tho
ANDREW GARFIELD IS THE FUNNIEST SPIDER-MAN.
I am with you Jess, Andrew is my favorite Spiderman. I also love Dennis Leary, speaking of whom, if you haven't see it, he did a Christmas movie called "The Ref" funny as all get out, maybe react to that one day. Thanks and thank you for being you.
I loved Gwen Stacy. I thought she was a better romantic match for Peter Parker than Mary Jane.
if relly love Andrew Garfield you should watch HACKSAW RIDGE ❤🔥it's a magnificent movie, You absolutely ganna love it and get emotional.
Next Reaction film Troy (2004) Spartan vs Troy 👍👍

Fantastic reaction, you’re awesome 😎 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, gonna blow your mind. Can’t wait to you get to NO WAY HOME. You’re beautiful, keep it up 👍
Beautiful i like ur reactions. Me gustas que diga me gustan jeje
they nailed the gwen peter chemistry. the best in any superhero movie, with the exception of tony and pepper. too bad the second one is complete garbage
I didn't care for this first Spider-man costume here with the gold eyes, but that 2nd with the big white Mark Bagley eyes one was on point.
The only gripe I have with this version is how quickly they rush into the spider bite. I get they have to get to it soon but it feels too quick. Other than that, I genuinely think that Andrew Garfield has the BEST spider-man films

Flash’s character is said to have an abusing father so he takes it out on kids at school who won’t defend themselves
_Anything happens_ *High-pitched screaming*
Andrew nails spideys cheekiness and one liners which tobey got wrong
