    I watched that video. It’s unreal! I’ve driven the Nurburging, and have also watched many videos, with a variety of cars lapping the circuit. But the 919 video is on a totally different level. It really looks like the video is being shown in faster than normal speed, because I’ve NEVER seen a lap of the Nurburgring done so quickly. I think it reached 368 km/hr on the long straight! That’s faster than the top speed of an F1 car.

  • @e2rqey

    @e2rqey

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@RbNetEngr It's absolutely absurd. The car had an average speed of 145.3 mph in that record-breaking lap. The first time I found out about it was after playing Forza 7. I took an Indy Car and after about 10 attempts (Plus about 200hrs playing the game) I finally got a sub 6 minute time. I was feeling pretty good about myself so I looked up what the top time on the Nordschleife was and saw the time the Porsche 919 Evo put down. Then I watched the video. It really was insane to see, especially after seeing how difficult it was just to break 6 minutes. I cannot imagine trying to do it in real life, I didn't have to deal with any of the bumps, or the G-Forces. Not to mention I wouldn't have the balls to drive a car like that on the limit. Truly amazing.

Now the new trio is trying to be Clarkson, May and Hammon just to be similar to the original successful format. But that can only be done by the original trio, and they are doing it for Amazon now. So I agree, the new trio should be themselves, even if it means that Top Gear will be different than its first 20 seasons.

    Epic Driver and car journalist, Epic car ... BUT the editing :(. OMG how many slo-mo shots of the car combined with the engine going flat out - made it very hard to watch. Please please re-edit this properly and it will become a legendary video.

    Its really amazing how we reached an age an era where the limiting factor is the human not the machine ! I remember driving a GT3 RS in BIC in a porsche event and i was amazed at how well the car handles and corners and no matter how hard you push it you are still far from the limits ..

  • @Bahamuttiamat

    Not true. The limiting factor is the tires and track.

    Bahamuttiamat i dont really think the tires is a limiting factor when the car is super light , the grip is high and the only factor stopping the car from going at crazy speed around a corner is the nerve system of the human and fear ..

  • @Bahamuttiamat

    @Bahamuttiamat

    Not true. Your information is factually false. Tires have been and will always be the limiting factors. Aircraft pilots pull far more G's and they do it fine. Air races pull far more g's than an f1 driver, so no, the human body isn't the limiting factor.

    Bahamuttiamat who said body ?? By human factor i meant the courage and reasonable judgment, when you try to jump of a high place you might think that jumping from first floor is easy , second floor you start questioning whether you are able to do it or not , third floor your brain will stop you because it believes its impossible even if in fact the harness and safety equipment might land you safely but reasonable judgment stops you .. The same goes with the car example .. the car might be able to take a corner at speed up to 80-90 mph and it will be its limit for grip , tires and traction , but the human judgement and courage will allow him to drive at 70 because that is the reasonable judgment, in this case the human is the limit .. unlike a racing driver who is trained for years and years and have the confidence to take the corner at much higher speeds where then the car starts to be the limiting factor .. Hope you got the idea .

    You my friend, obviously don't know many race car drivers. They aren't wired like us. Fear isn't a thing for those guys. They get off pushing the limits. If the car can go that fast, there will always be those that will take it there. Your or I would be like " F that" but for them they get off on it. I mean, someone jumped from freaky space.... would you do that? Your limitation on your own survivability may not necessarily be shared with those mavericks

    Look everybody, look at what my mega HD cameras can pick up, if you look closely you’ll notice a leaf being wafted across the track by the gentle breeze, I’ve slowed the footage down so you can focus on what my cameras are capable of, the aim of this piece was to demonstrate how fancy our new cameras are, you really get to appreciate how amazing our editing is AND you get to see what you licence fee is paying for. Yeah there’s a car that gets in the way every now and again but that’s totally secondary to MY toys and MY editing. This is about ME not that bloody Porsche that was on the circuit.

    As a Race Marshal I had the Honor of not only seeing but touching this Beast of a machine when the WEC came to COTA in Texas, all the P1 cars at that time were Incredible, but this thing was on a whole different level, the Race Director at the time for WEC when talking to the Marshals at our briefing told us these were not cars as we knew them, they were in fact Laboratories on wheels, that was an understatement...at our 6 Hr endurance race, into the night was something I will never forget, Natural Gas colored blue header flames about 15 inches long, on every gear change was an Incredible Explosion from the exhaust, brake rotors turning a translucent orange on braking at 1000C. Mark Webber could Blow all 4 times Off the car, up in smoke at 150mph if he deployed all the power on our back stretch. Ashamed the FIA outlawed these cars, Sadly I am afraid F1 is on the way to being a Spec Class, give them fuel and let the technology go! Like these cars were, F1 is supposed to be the Cutting Edge of Motor Racing
