Great videos, great instruction. I just watch them for hours…Melbourne, Australia
‘The instructional saved me big time at a recent comp, my opponent was def more experienced, but that was ok, coz I had Prof Tom’s video in my brain. Nailed it and scored gold’ - Colorado, Denver

The little chime noise during the slow motion replay is perfect. Brings my attention back every time.
“If you get the mount and the choke comes out, no big deal! You’re in mount. Congratulations!” Love it!
7:28 "Oh my god this is an opportunity !!!" I love the bait, so funny

@oliver closehoff as a beginner the darce feels more natural and less sneaky than armlocks and kimuras. I am lanky tho

D Nyce Who cares if he is? He found something that works and did it well on somebody more experienced and seasoned, let him feel good about his improvement
Nvr seen such an in-depth vid of a bjj technique ever. Love how you link other techniques together so that it is more applicaple in sparring! Rising star
You finally mentioned in the last few seconds of the video the issue of "short arms" and the idea of "short arm variations etc. In my experience if my opponent is 170lbs (or less) and has a narrow chest/shoulders the Darce/Anaconda chokes are easy. The short arm techniques can work but you use them when your opponent is big and muscular (which decreases the likelihood they will actually work). Finally, there are guys so big/strong you can barely get your hands connected around their head and arm. This is where all the "Necktie" variations are employed (Peruvian, Japanese etc.). A suggestion for a video might be "Head and Arm chokes when your opponent is too big to Darce".
Really like the new format :) , have to say professor Tom is a real asset to grappling arts and helping us on our individual journey. The new format has really pro level production values, do keep experimenting with these fresh ideas. The pause effect is useful, just don't overuse it. Thanks again for your fantastic tips and videos!

I already wanted to visit Australia but he makes me want to go even more just to roll at his gym.
Hands down the best explanation of how to do a D'arce. Thank you, Coach! -Btw: I'm still using the awesome belt tie you taught! Still till this day never comes undone :D
Awesome advice! 13:16 that is some tentacular stuff right there. No way I'm pulling that off with my nubby limbs.
The sarcastic professor breaks it down, but in a good way.
"And he is gonna get a BIG Squeeze!!"

Wow!!!!!! Great video.
Very good videos,
Loving you , teacher . you're very enthusiasm . I always give you thums up
This is one of the best videos of seen in a while!
My all time favorite submission without a doubt
Man Coach Tom, your last series on the D'arce was excellent... This one is even better!!! I'll be watching this one on repeat for a long while. All that extra stuff around the 10min and after was so so so key. I always felt like I could hit it from some of those angels, but I didn't know how too do it or if it was even possible. This was a real eye opener and very creative by yourself and Brian. Thank you guys very very much for making this!!!!!
Man your videos are the best or up there in my top 3 to watch. Awesome! You teach good and don’t make things to complicated.
Great video. Showing the multiple approaches to the same technique is super helpful.
Excellent Darce tutorial. Kudos to Gary for the great post prod
I’ve watched so many videos to learn the Darce, and none made as much sense as this one. Excellent work, as usual, Professor Tom!
Such an aesthetically pleasing submission
Excellent excellent instructions, various, and understanding. Thank you coach.
This is Gold.
Great video man seems you been hitting the weights as well 🔥🔥🔥
Stuck it twice in the same roll! Super easy to get into. Love this, keeping this one around
absolutely brutal, thanks for showing us
Seriously! This is an awesome video of one of my favorite moves. Thanks so much for all the explanations on the various transitions. It is time to let the meeces run! Oss!
Just keeps getting better and better. Thank professor. Looking a little more buffed out brother.
I remember learning a lot of this from my old coach John Will. Thanks for the refresher course.
OHHH I love that detail about pulling the arm through. Similar concept to how Danaher teachers the finish for the RNC! very creative
Thanks gary
Your explanation of techniques is fantastic. Thanks from a new practitioner of Jiu Jitsu
Great explanations! This move has been pretty mystifying to me and I haven't tried them much because I have short, little hobbit arms. But I think this video has helped me understand it even more than some live explanations I've seen. I think I just might be able to add this to my game now!
Great video as always Coach Tom! Lately I’ve been really wondering where to get some solid custom rash guards, fight shorts, etc. Would love to get some made, and love the ones you guys have. Thanks!
After covid19 let’s me back to my gym I can’t wait to try these variations I learn so much from your style thank you for your videos
Good work Garry looking schmick mate!
Thanks for always showing where you're trying to move your body withOUT your partner there. It helps me so much! Never going to forget that 'rocking a baby' analogy either. Great video, coach Tom!
Thank you very much for this Coach, we were re-visiting this tech this very week (at my club). Excellent clarity in the instruction. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Awesome.
Beautiful.
Love it. I’m abit more stocky so mite not suit me very well but still lots of applicantion.
Like the new style of video with the pauses for instructions
Thanks great variations and attack angles! I will be definitely trying these. I have a long reach and the Darce is one of my favorite chokes. I'm a blue belt but have been having some success even with higher belts, setting it up as very first thing from standing. I move directly towards the opponent lowering his head with the left while shooting the right under his arm and neck. From there I can usually bring him down turn him on his side and with a good percentage of success, finish.
Brilliant Prof Tom,white belt here, great ideas to transition while also possibly getting a choke ,looking forward to applying this in training later.👍
All these moves are my go-to moves from every one of these positions. Great for people with really long/lanky arms.
This is amazing
Awesome video and great helpful reminders too, loving the new style of videos
