    I just hope by 2026 Toyota massively improves the technology offerings across all trims for all vehicles. Keeping physical buttons and a real shifter is all a must. And for god's sake, I PRAY they reduce the bezels on their infotainment screen; doesn't matter how large a screen they put in their vehicles if the bezels are that huge and ugly. And I'm not sure how it all works, but I hope CVT's continue to improve over time because I feel like they still delay acceleration quite a bit.

    I would like to see a new RAV4 Hybrid with 5th gen hybrid system, better sound insulation of wheel arches and double side driver and passenger glass, maybe some small design refresh, fixed rear cable connector corrosion issues (Cablegate) and some interior and trunk space improvements. I think that the design language will be pretty similar to the Prius and the Camry with the Hammerhead design. That being said though, I agree it will look radically different than let’s say a “refreshed” RAV4 like people said with the Camry. I’m surprised the Arene software is coming a bit faster than I thought, especially considering models like the Sienna still haven’t received the current and latest infointanment tech in the Toyota line up.

    It's Toyota, they don't do big redesign and typically just give cheap upgrade as well, especially now they have crown models. This is why they will keep Rav4 as normal as possible, and not hurting their crown brand. Just like they will eliminate Venza soon as it is hurting their Lexus brand. Don't get your hopes too high. Toyota knows people buy Rav4 for reliability, and its pricing has gone through the roof lately!

    RAV4 people are interested in two things most of all: That would be reliability and fuel economy. Power is not even on their list. RAV4 Prime should pretty much come full-equipped. At this level, there's shouldn't be more than a 15k difference between the entry car, and its maxed out version. Any more beyond that and you begin to enter the territory of the next higher level car. One more thing, hanging on the center mounted shifter is just old-fashion (like a growing child that want to hang on to his blanket). Its not a manual transmission, so there no practical interaction. You put it in gear, and go about your business. The rest of the time, its just in the way of a lot of what could be usable storage space. More car makers are beginning to figure that out, and buyers appreciate it.

    I really hope the 2025 Rav4 has a sleek look like the Lexus RX, or Crown Signia/New Camry. I love the hammerhead design, the current one is a bit too chunky and boxy for me. I hope it’ll be amazing 😍 can’t wait to see it

    Kirk don't you think the "boxy designn" will go the 4 Runner way ? It's already e any. RAV 4 needs to stay mid size. That's where they are killing it. Love the reporting !

    I’d like the Rav4 Hybrid to have a smidge better towing capacity and more offroad capability. I want a vehicle that I can daily drive with great efficiency and still be capable of getting me to fun places on the weekends.

    Agreed. The Hybrid powertrain from the Highlander offers a 3,500 lbs tow rating in a bigger vehicle. If they put it in the RAV4, it can tow at least as much and cut half a second from 0-60 times without hurting mpg. An upgrade to the rear electric motor will aid traction on and off roads.

  • @rightlanehog3151
    @rightlanehog31517 ай бұрын

    Kirk, I paid you the ultimate compliment, I watched the WHOLE video before typing these remarks.😉 I will leave the electronics to others and focus my remarks on the body and powertrain. Either every major RAV4 competitor is too spacious and accommodating inside or the RAV4 is too darn small. A stretched wheelbase and a couple of extra inches of headroom are crucial to offering family transportation at the level already provided by others. Following Camry's recent example, an all Hybrid powertrain is a leap in the right direction. I would like to see hp bumped up to the point where the Hybrid RAV4 can match the 3,500 lbs tow rating of Highlander and Sienna Hybrids as well as today's TRD RAV4. As you stated , a stronger motor on the rear axle can improve handling, traction and tow capacity in one go. It goes without saying that current mpg numbers must be beaten by the next model. Today's RAV4 Hybrid offers a spare tire and has enough space to handle a full-size spare. As Toyota's newer Hybrid offerings are hit and miss in this regard, I hope the next RAV4 gets this feature right. Finally, I would like to see the next RAV4 offer a fold-forward front passenger seat which recently made a surprise reappearance in the 2 door Tacoma. 😁

    I’ve heard Dealer markups can raise the actual sales price of Primes by 10-20% in some markets. This may be one reason why the Tesla Model Y has out sold the RAV4.

    Partly. Model y also had rebates and huge price drops over time. The most major thing though is that Tesla focused on producing mostly model 3 and Y for last few years where as R4P is only produced in Japan on two Toyota factory lines.
