The Aguilar DCB®-M Pickup

Музыка

The Aguilar DCB®-M pickup offers players a fresh, new, and unique flavor for their MM-style bass. Utilizing our DCB® technology, this pickup captures more harmonic content then traditional “M” style pickups due to its dual ceramic bar design. Its uniform magnetic field allows each note to have an accurate dynamic response and no information is lost as the string moves back and forth; delivering a rich, nuanced sound with an overall balanced and full-bodied tone. The DCB®-M sounds great passive or can be paired with an onboard preamp, such as our OBP-1, 2 or 3, for the ultimate in tonal flexibility.

I just installed this in my 2006 EBMM Stingray. It sounds amazing! Clean deep low end without losing that signature zing. You guys hit it out of the park with this pickup

How would you compare it to your stock EBMM pickup? How are the mids on it?

@@mgibson454 I'd love to hear a side-by-side comparison. This pickup did sound balanced and very nice, but I'd only be able to tell: Hearing one-after-the-other. oNe LovE from NYC

Great to see another offering of a MM style pickup that can be used for other styles. Last year I installed a Delano j-ray in my 1986 BC-Rich and was very pleased with the smooth jazz tone combined with the punch the MM provided. I was thinking about installing one in 1995 Musicman but, really didn't want to have 2 basses with the same pickup. Now I have a second option, thanks Aguilar. I would love to see more variation of the MM style pickup that can be used for jazz.

Anyone swap the Neo Mag pickups in their Specials with these? What are your thoughts over the new ray pickup with the 18v harness? I have the older version with the pole pieces + the OBP 3 in one of my Sterlings, sounds great and super aggressive when you want it to be - especially in that bass, but curious what new Stingray Special owners think, since I’m not really super crazy about the new neo pickups in them (just a taste thing).

Is it necessary to change the preamp too, or can the pickup alone just be changed out? I have an ‘82 StingRay and feel that the stock pickup is sounding flat, so to speak. I like the sounds of the DCB-M4. Thanks!
