Can we just appreciate how, despite being exhausted and hungry, Ollie immediately introduced himself to Jonathan in Korean and was really friendly. And then easily started talking to him in French? I could never be so amiable after being left to fend for myself for such a long day. It would be so easy to get irritable and be too tired for social interaction after that ordeal, but Ollie was still so warm, friendly and polite. Respect, Ollie!

Is that what is called projection? Sorry not really familiar with concept's english translation. For me, since i would be assisted with 2 Korean cameraman(so technically not alone) and i know as a content creator i could use this experience and i know i can make it have an entertainment value. This experience is definitely an A+ scenario. You just going to have to be creative and imaginative.

I like how Rosemary reminds Josh how hungry Ollie was. That was really sweet.

It’s a pity this whole Ollie series doesn’t get even half the average view count... I really enjoyed it a lot and have a whole new respect for Ollie. Great work Ollie!!!

I’ve had trouble watching it because I’m constantly experiencing shared embarrassment and anxiety with Ollie. I love him so much that watching this kills me! I also got a bit uncomfortable with how much Josh seemed to enjoy throwing Ollie into these genuinely difficult and scary situations. I have also had a “lost in a foreign country” experience myself, that was terrifying and ended with me calling people at 3 AM in the middle of Madrid Spain. So I have to work myself up to that kinda thing. 😕

@@OneWhoDreamsAwake the only one I had a bit of a hard time with was the last one where they left him with no wallet. every time josh came on I just skipped it. it was uninteresting. the others I was fine because even though I could never be that brave, I was able to suspend my emotions and just be proud of him walking up to people and talk

Honestly I could never do what Ollie has done. I would have 100 panic attacks and not get anywhere. Ollie has a really strong personality and I respect him so much.

Ollie looked so tired towards the end, all the adrenaline must've run out lol. Poor thing, but Ollie! You are so cool! This image of Ollie is so cool, I feel like I've discovered a new side of him. He's actually an absolute genius lol

I love how even when he was starving and exhausted, Ollie instantly befriended Jonathan

Rosemary and the other camera person took these increasingly difficult challenges with Ollie very well. They had a pretty good attitude considering and handled the logistical difficulties like champs.

떳떳한진지충 내가 20학번인데 나단이는 우리나라말 배우고 저렇게 유창하게 하며 학교 진도 다 따라오는 것만으로도 말 다했지.. 외국인인데 수능이면 인정은 쫌 너무갔다 외국인 전형도 인정해야지

I'm so late watching these videos but my heart went out to Ollie, if my best friend left me stranded in a foreign country with no phone or money I wouldn't know what to do. You did great Ollie, 1000% times better than I would have done 😂💕

많이 익숙해 지고 많이 성장해주세요. 나중에 우리 애들이 학교에서 다른 인종의 친구를 만났을 때 외국인 만났다가 아니라 "친구중에 존이라는 애 있는데 진짜 존나 웃겨" 라는 말을 하는 정말 평범한 일상이 될 수 있게. 솔직히 한국이 무조건 다인종 국가가 될 필욘 없다고 생각하지만, 한국에 적응하고 정착하고자하는 사람들은 자격만 된다면 인종 상관없이 어우러져 살 수 있길 바랄뿐.

국적은 콩고고 한국엔 난민으로 있는걸로 아는데? 아 물론 아버지가 무려 교수고 5년 넘게 살았고 한국어도 매우 잘하니 귀화신청 하면 바로 허용 되긴 하겠지만.

올리가 받아쓰기는 틀렸어도 한글을 쓰는 방식은 거의 완벽하게 이해하고있는것같네요ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 자신이 말하는 단어를 자기발음그대로 한글로 쓰는걸 보면ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 근데 아직 자신의 발음이 한국인과 조금 거리가 있다는게 문제ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 이건 금방 극복 가능한 문제겠죠.

I almost cry, when Ollie talked with the taxi driver. I feel so sorry for him, because he did a lot of hard work! and everyone knows it! OLLIE! YOU ARE NOT DUMB PERSON! LEARNING NEW LANGUAGE IS HARD FOR EVERYONE! EVERYONE HAS HIS OWN TEMPO. I learning japanese for almost one year and Im still not able even introduce myself. But I dont give up! 1 year or 10 years! I will speak japanese! it doesn´t really matter ho long it will take.

This entire series was phenomenal! I binged it today! Ollie, it looks like you completely surprised yourself with speaking Korean. Josh just needs to let you speak without interrupting you and you’ve got this!

Definitely. I often feel like he isn't supportive enough or too impatient with Ollie. Watching the Jolly videos, Ollie has been making really good progress and had a great technique for learning. And here, in Korea, he's picked everything up incredibly fast. My heart breaks a bit every time someone makes a jab at Ollie's Korean skills.

@@tsuyuasui7297 He learns a new word and phrase and immediately uses it in a sentence, he is not afraid of speaking in case he looks foolish (something many learners struggle with) and he keeps making jokes and having a lot of fun, which definitely helps him remember things. Check out some of his Korean lessons on the Jolly channel, they are super funny.

I feel like the moment Ollie refused to take Josh's hand was the moment that Josh realized that he went too far with this. It's true that Ollie had agreed to this, and it's true that the crew was with him the whole time, but being in a foreign country where you're not fully in control of the language and the cultural nuances and then having to ask people you don't know for help and selling your own shirt for money is flat out humiliating. And terrifying as well, you never know if anyone would take advantage of your situation and get you in real trouble. There's a line that you Cross and it's not funny anymore, and Ollie was a Prince and he handled it perfectly and was incredibly brave, but it doesn't matter that he got the job done because at the end of the day he didn't feel good about it. On the contrary, he felt drained, and hungrey because Josh didn't even leave him enough money to get food and worst of all he felt stupid. And he's truly anything but. He smiled after rejecting Josh's hand but that was a very very real moment. And I think that in that moment it finally hit Josh that he'd truly hurt Ollie. If you notice, and this is the first time I've ever seen this in Ollie, he hardly ever smiled, he only laughed once or twice and he didn't speak to Josh, at all. When the camera lingers on him when he's not talking you could see that something is sitting on his chest really tightly, he looked really really sad, and the way Josh laughed at him instead of teaching him when he wrote Korean wrong (which looks impossible to me, by the way, I would have to do nothing but study 24/7 for a year before I could write like he did, I was honestly impressed) only hurt Ollie more, I think. And that's not fair to him. He was in a sensitive place and it was painful to watch him being so closed off and in his head, but Josh finally trying to take care of him and make sure he eats and rests and going wherever he goes instead of being the lead was pretty moving. He was very soft with him and it was lovely to see. Something very powerful happened to Ollie right there, I think, and it's too bad that he had to get hurt to learn how strong he is. It's really too bad.

well the korean alphabet was designed to be easy to learn, so i’m sure that it wouldn’t take you a whole year. other than that though, i agree with you. taking the phone was fine (otherwise ollie could have searched it all up, therefore not using his korean), but taking the wallet was too far. ollie sold the only food they had and his own shirt to get there and josh just laughs it off. at least josh realized that he went too far. הגר גדליוביץ'

lmfao please so many people have been in worse situations where this was their actual life. he still had a crew member that was bilingual, and korea is not some scary country where you feel like your safety is in jeopardy, and they've been to korea hundreds of times before that. it's not like this is his first time ever and he knows 0 about the language. i went to korea knowing less korean than ollie by myself going to some of the cities they went to and i had so much fun.

And Ollie is doing all this for Juno. Juno you should be proud of your dad. He is a gem. I have never appreciated a KZreadrs work as this before.

Dude how old is Jonathan? 16!? He has such a mature demeanor. I can tell he's experienced much life already!

Korean age and western age is different; in Korean age he would be 19 since he is a high school senior. However in western age (considering his birthday has not passed) he would be 17.

This felt like a side interview series episode not a finale. It's a good video don't get me wrong but I do hope we have more of a recap that includes Ollie and closes the series. Good job team, Ollie you're the man well done.

I'm so proud of Ollie especially he survived his challenge! He improves a lot in speaking Korean language!

After watching this series and binging on Korean Englishman and seeing Ollie's journey with learning Korean, I feel so proud of him! What an incredibly difficult thing you have done! And persevered despite so many obstacles! You should be so proud of yourself. You had me tearing up during your taxi cab confessional. I have so much respect for you!
