the funny part is that from the liches and merle's perspective, taako said a kickass heroic line and then fainted.

This moment is the most beautiful moment in the entire podcast. This right here. For all their ribbing and jabbing, for Merle's tendency to not heal, Taako's tendency to take things too lightly, and Magnus's tendency to go lone wolf, this displays how far they've come as a team. The true spirit of camaraderie. They refuse to let their family die.

Not only is this animatic absolutely fantastic, I come back and watch this and think about how this scene went completely sideways from how Griffin had planned it to go, and that the boys completely took him by surprise with their team work. What a special moment this was.

Props to the boys being able to completely subvert the story the DM was planning, and to Griffin for being able to roll with it. Of course, I can't help but wonder how Griffin's planned story would have gone; I imagine Magnus and Kravitz would have linked up, but would have been stranded in the astral plane until Taako opened the portal. Probably that cut-scene we got of Kravitz fighting his way back to his fortress was originally supposed to be both of them.

Such a beautiful moment, captured beautifully. I'm being serious here, this moment in the series is, like, a big moment for me in media in general. It's amazing. This podcast is really special. The way you animate Taako saying "I got a fuckin' Idea for ya" is brilliant. He looks furious at the liches. And it makes what he does next seem all the more awesome. It presents the whole moment as him being in a state of righteous fury, and he uses that to save his friend. Fantastic job.
