Also on X. Someone gave episode 3 8.5/10. My comment was 1- which substance did you use? 2- I said 85% of the episode was a repeat. 3- I watched shows on different levels and this show I watched with the lowest bar possible. Stenberg’s acting is worse than high school where people had to create a play and the acting was wooden. She has no range.

I can tell you why she puts the helmet on. Leslye wanted the same "OH MY GOD!" feeling in her show, as we had in the "Revenge of the Sith" with Darth Vader for the first time breathing in the mask. This whole story writing is an insult to anyone with even half a right mind.

The only thing I found slightly kool about that scene. Is that from the outside she looks menacing, but from the inside she sounds as just a scared child, which in reality is kind of a metaphor on all Sith. Many of them are just children in adult bodies, unable to understand/control their emotions and so they end up lashing out in anger and fear. But if they intentionally meant to visualize that I’m sure they could have done it better, that’s just my headcannon 😋

This thing is a trainwreck. Poorly developed characters, an incomprehensible script, and a staggering cost per 30 minute episodes. It destroys canon, power levels are all over the place, and the protagonists seem schizophrenic. Disney has killed Star Wars and mutilated it's corpse. I saw the OG in theaters as a teen and remember it was a world wide phenomenon. Now, I just can't...😢

So I had some of the same reactions you had. The fact that Mae went from "Im done with this shit, I have my sister back, Im turning myself in" to "Im going to impersonate Osha, leave her on the planet, maybe shes dead or some cockroaches will eat her and then Im going to kill Sol" made my head spin. Who wrote that? Then once again the Jedi temple made me question how the Jedi even rose to power in the first place. Looks like a bunch of adolescents running the place. Nobody even looks powerful. These are the same Jedi who are descended from the Jedi who crushed the Sith? I get that they havnt faced sith in generations but neither did the Jedi in the prequels and they looked like fucking Jedi. And then Master greenskin, a Jedi Master, says she gets sick while flying through space. Lmao, a Jedi fucking master gets sick sitting in a ship in space. In fucking Space. In a ship that has stabilizers and inertia dampeners. She wouldnt fucking feel a thing unless flying through atmosphere. How does a Jedi Master get "car sick". "Take the wheel Osha". My god. There is no fucking wheel. Then she proceeds to sit down like she wasnt just about to kill him. Just follows his orders blindly. But then expertly pilots the vehicle. How does she even know what buttons to press. Honestly, flying that ship has to be as difficult as most heavy machines today. You need to have some kind of training on that spaceship. Its not like a car. They are not all the same.

You mentioned Portugal. I was just in Lisbon for a week but a fortnight ago. For me as an American transplant in Sweden the flight from Stockholm was 4.5 hrs. I get it that it’s a much bigger operation if you’re in the States but still. Lisbon was awesome. So nice, historical, friendly, English is widely spoken at least in the city. It’s not a small children family destination. Walking around the city - which you absolutely should do - is all about climbing hills. I guess it’s kinda like Europe’s San Francisco, not that I have ever been so San Francisco. I’m 53 and married so I don’t sample the clubbing scene but you can pub crawl for craft beer if that’s your jam. Also, most European cities have a small but vibrant English stand-up scene and those are always a hoot. And yeah The Acolyte suuuuucks. It’s amazing to me that a studio gave an amateur 180 MILLION DOLLARS and apparently with no oversight. I have to wonder how long this is sustainable.

At this point, as to the mystery of where all the money went to. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a hired DEI consultancy team for every group. A diversity consultant for the cameraman, a diversity consultant for the actor, a diversity consultant for the writer, a diversity consultant for the janitor, a diversity consultant for the catering, a diversity consultant for the unpaid intern.

Valiant, this 'presentation' absolutely had me crying tears of joy, tears of sadness, tears of tears and had me searching the set/scene behind & around Osha, looking for the Oak Chest filled with rubber (Expression) masks! Clearly, whoever was assigned to put the (Artificial) Oak chest (made of metallised India Rubber) next to the (Latex) Plywood box containing Osha's wigs, and forgetting to brush the 7 main hair-strands of the wig-mask collection, was absolutely HILARIOUS!! That my friend (I'd suggest) is gonna get you an award straight-out of the Bowels of the stunningly Scenic (Douglas Fir) box containing the Miniature-Wookie, Glued-on laugh-lines and Eyebrows extensions for Series 7 (17 years on from now) and I'm telling ya, it will draw no less an award for set direction at the next Oscars Show! Your commentary, added to the tears already shed, on Bob Igers new Shower-curtain design (Top-floor 2nd left Steel fire-door) and will just add to the rust covering the stainless steel double-toilet! And the Oscar for the finest set-direction (and missing eyebrows) goes to................ Valiant Renegade himself!

The dumbest part of the naked scene, other than that it happened, was that they didnt even try to have an excuse to justify it. They could've had it so that he was tending the wounds he got from the previous fight after the giant insects swarmed him, and needed to wash their guts off of him. Also, I love how Osha tries to threaten Smylo by saying how powerful Master Sol is, like Smylo didn't just obliterate 5 knights and padawns single handed in the last episode, and kill another master off screen in the one before that.

23:51 Osha being “corrupted and tempted” was literally like a college girl pretending like she’s not gonna give it up at the end of the night…. “Okay you can come over but we’re not gonna have 🍆 okay!” Like the whole episode was “I can’t see you, but follow me 🫣 oh there’s the ship, ohh but the waters wet… darn. Here’s my back, what? U want to know bout my back… we’ll since u asked 🥴 oh here’s a helmet, u know u want it, be right back I’ll leave u alone with it 🤫🫣”. *wakes up in morning* Osha ready for the walk of shame…. “It was just supposed to be Netflix Sol, he promised 💁‍♀️” Literally that’s what it reminded me of, a girl being delusional and playing games when she already knows the outcome of the night 🙄 wow compelling story 2 episodes left and I don’t even know what we’re aiming at for the end plot anymore 🤣 what’s the point of all this? To figure out what happened on Brendok? Trying to stop Sith? Like what are we doing right now I honestly have no clue anymore😅

In fairness, I've seen her in a few things and Sternberg, isn't that bad an actress. The problem is the writing and the directing is appalling. They're trying to make her character menacing, and brooding, but it's just not coming off. For starters, she looks like she's on the verge of smiling all the time. In fact, she kind of has the Disney wammmmmmen, girl boss, Holdo, "I'm so much better than you, pleb," look. That's not imposing, staunch, or dignified at all.

100% The writing and directing is just straight up amateurish - there is literally zero character development, a convoluted yet almost non existent plot and laughable dialogue. With the $180M budget they had they should have just filmed it as a movie and split it up into a handful of episodes which move the story along in a significant way instead of the disjointed 8 episodes only containing about 25 minutes of content (which realistically comes out to about 6 minutes of actual plot per episode). It’s frankly embarrassing
