    More horrid writing. BoBF, Obi Wan, Mando S3 and Ahsoka were horribly written. If Kathleen Kennedy can't oversee the products quality consistently, she isn't suited for the job to run Lucasfilm. In sports, a manager/coach running a team for 12 years, to have more failures than wins would warrant a change. Star Wars with good stories and characters is a license to print money. Doesn't Disney like money?

    This episode convinced me that 1. Manny should have never been in this show as a bumbling fool, he should’ve been behind the mask the entire time and revealed as he was this episode. 2. The show should have never centered around the twins as the main characters. Every time the show begins to get interesting it creeks to a halt to the twins convoluted plot line. I don't hate the show, but my biggest issue with it is that Osha is too much of a passive protagonist. She makes no decisions and everything happens TO her. Mae should've been the protagonist. • @bajansamurai

    The Flaws in Osha's portrayal make me think the script was originally skewed to Mae's POV. It would make sense too since this was pitched as a Sith-centric project before they distilled it to this.

  • @bajansamurai

    @bajansamurai

    8 күн бұрын

    @@captainDJ87 I see that being said a lot, but (poor execution aside) I followed her flipflopping quite well. People just tend to not allow for the fact that she had doubts about her path since she first saw Osha and it wasn't out of the blue when she decided to turn herself into Kelnacca. She basically was stalling with Qimir when she feigned needing rest, and wanted to set the trap (plus she needed to be able to find him in the first place). Now, weakly executed, but the idea of wanting to come peacefully but instead fighting your arrester makes enough sense when it reaches the point that your scary master is here and the Jedi don't actually stand as much chance as you thought. Being angered too by Jecki's attack fits with the fact that Mae is a bit on the unhinged side. So yeah, if it got chalked up to bipolar disorder, that would make it make sense to others that can't intuit those other cues about why she seemed to flop around decisions.

    @@GalaxyGeeks My wife talked me down from some of my frustration. There are some forgivable bad decisions the writers made. For instance we can give Sol the Benefit of the doubt that he doesn't recognize Mae over Osha in the Force. He may be closed off with sadness and guilt. Osha is worse than Mae. Osha wants absolutely nothing of interest. She wanted to explore the galaxy and be a Jedi. She got kicked out . . for some reason. She didn't even want to deal with her sister at first. But now she wants to arrest her sister . . . . MAYBE because her conversation with Sol makes her think if she does that, the Jedi will take her back. But it isn't clear . . . Mae's desires should have been the easy part for these writers,. but they dorked it all up. Many people are asking, what does Mae even want? I THINK they are going for that her sister rejected her offer of family, so now she's just going to carry out her vengeance . . . but now for herself and not for the Sith. The Sith keep calling her vengeance quest a "deal" - why? What is it the Sith will offer her? IS the deal "you get to be an apprentice"? - Why would Mae want to be a Sith Apprentice? They are asking us to roll with all of these questions until they reveal the truth of the witch massacre. And its asking a LOT of the audience. The problem is, when you flip flop so quickly on your vengeance, its like crying wolf . . . even though her sister rejected her, she no longer is relatable. The BIGGEST mistake they made was for her to suddenly betray her vengeance quest in a delayed reaction from learning her sister was still alive after 30 minutes of walking through the woods. The hinged the whole plot on this decision . . . and it was too soon. Osha should have captured Mae with that stun blast she missed on purpose - and from THERE we should have learned the truth of Mae's point of view. All of this bad storytelling is coming from trying to extend a story to eight episodes when it should probably only be about 4 45 minute episodes long at the most Or at best a four hour movie. Whatever the Length of Kill Bill Part 1 + Kill Bill Part 2. Instead all these contrivances (not to mention some weird episode chopping) amount to about 4 kill bill movies. All boils down to this - They don't have ENOUGH story here to fill the episode request.

    Qimir didn't say he was a Sith, he said its probably what the Jedi would call him. Qimir also had cortosis armor which he was using to short out the Jedi saber, which is why they would come back on after a few moments. That's also why he could tank the stun blast. A stun pulse relies on disrupting the neurological activity in your brain for a split second, knocking you out, but Qimir was wearing a cortosis helmet so it didn't work. Also, I'm willing to bet that Qimir isn't the master, he's the apprentice. The actual master was present in the flashback scene when Mae and Osha were kids. He's standing behind the witches in a fully cloaked outfit, then peaces out when the Jedi arrive. Qimir wants an acolyte as a step toward taking out his own master. When "nice guy" Qimir is telling Mae he owes the master and all that stuff, he's not cleverly referring to himself, he's actually talking about a whole separate person that we haven't seen yet. The master is probably Darth Tenebrous, the master of Plagueis, since he's the main Sith lord present in the time period of the show. If this ends up being true, that means that Qimir is Darth Venamis, the illegitimate second apprentice of Tenebrous.

    This show has not been very good but it also has not been as offensive (at least to me) as Book of Boba Fett was. That being said as much as I did not like the first four episodes this one was much better, though keeping in mind that the four previous episodes set the bar pretty low. A big problem is there is no character development and I just don't care about any of the characters, except maybe Dafne Keen's character and that's probably more due to the fact that she's X-23 more than this Padawan she is playing.

  • @Tuscar
    @Tuscar8 күн бұрын

    OK, the material in Darth Smiley's helmet/armor that disables lightsabers and protects from stun bolts is cool. Mae had every intention of turning herself in until Darth Smiley showed himself, and now she's back in fear mode. It was unfortunate Jecky immediately attacked her, further escalating her fight or flight response. This episode had some of the best fight choreography of any Star Wars live action, and it looked cinematic, unlike Ashoka. There are still multiple unanswered questions that they will have to address in the upcoming episodes, but overall this episode definitely made the series much better. That said, Kristian it feels like you are looking for things to hate about this series rather than allowing yourself to enjoy what is actually being shown. Is it great, no, but it is also not as bad as you were making it out to be.

    The Fight scenes were AWESOME in this episode. Unfortunately, they were so awesome it made the weakness in the writing even more stark in contrast. For instance, why was Mae trying to kill Jaeki if she was going to surrender? Also, I think Manny knows that it is Osha who was unconscious by the gentle way he placed the coat on her. He is going to try to get her to turn.

    This show is going to take a gymnastic plot twist to turn around and make sense. I have no idea where the money was spent, for the length of these episodes it must be panning out at roughly a $1m a minute. As for Manny or Quint or Quantum of Sith, whatever the name is, he does say (and I assume this is the get out jail card) "you might call me a Sith"... and he has no name, if he were Sith, he'd be knighted as a Darth, so it seems he just wants to practice the Sith religion without actually being from the lineage of the Sith. Either way, it's so convoluted.
