Agreed. But I feel the hints were way too forward and gave away too much so early on. Because even tho it’s episode 1, I feel like I already know the story/plot of this show

People were hating on the show before they even watched it. I enjoyed this so much definitely one of the better of Star Wars shows and I look forward to the rest of the series.

They're just a loud minority! The general public doesn't really care about their opinions. Hopefully that means lots of people get to enjoy the show

Yeah I hate that crap also, that's why I don't pay attention to that toxic crap. I thought this was a very good opening. I will never let toxic fandom dictate my opinions but I do respect others. I look at it like this, don't like it, don't watch it and still complain about it.

Not to mention this show has a 4.6/10 score on imdb and an audience score of 26% on rotten tomatoes. That's the majority of fans worldwide not liking this show.

There is a reason the killed Indara so quickly. everyone recognizes her and notes her as powerful in their mind right away. It's a good way of showing Maes strength. Her killing a random character wouldn't have the same effect. Jedi dying while protecting someone innocent is predictable so Mae used that against her. PLUS we will see more of her character as shown in the teasers

First off I'm loving both of your shirts, and I liked this episode and yes I agree as much as we love the OGs it's so cool to dive into the world of Star Wars from a perspective we haven't seen on screen other than books. Solid first episode NOW THERE ARE TWO OF THEM 😅

Mae started the fire. She accused the Jedi of killing unarmed people. They claim to have seen her die. Mae was erased from the records. =The Jedi think they killed Mae.

I'm in love with the thriller aspect in this show!!! The trailers didn't capture it very well, but it clearly has its own identity and feels totally new. Can't wait to see more

So going into this my expectations were really low. But so far im digging it. I like Sol plays a good jedi master reminds me of my fave Jedi Qui Gon. Also really impressed with the actress who plays the twins. U really buy into that it's two separate characters. Also the fighting is on point that one actress or her double can really move fast

Yeah, Carrie was in other shots in the trailer that were not in the bar so we'll see her again in flashbacks to explain what happened with the twins. Or maybe she'll even pop up in the last couple of eps like, "Surprise! Not really dead.". lol

Personally I loved that they offed Indara so quickly, because it shows in the most brutal way that star power will not protect you as a character. I also am really enjoying that this feels like it's taking place in the Star Wars galaxy and universe without feeling like even more of the Skywalker soap opera -- I'm so ready to move on from that same repetitive story set.

I love how normal people who aren't into the whole culture war likes the show. Can't wait for the next episodes, I also like this show because I feel like I don't need every Star Wars lore to get it

We do see in the trailer footage of Indara in flashbacks, don’t forget, what happened on Osha’s home planet is the foundation of this mystery, so they have to do flashbacks to reveal and resolve it. It’s not the last we see of Carrie Ann Moss.

Yeah, my expectation is that our perception of what the show is about will completely change after those flashbacks and then again before the end of the season.

Loved the early ‘death by fruit knife’ scene. No problem with a character so much a part of all the series promotion being wiped out so early - love surprises! 🤨

@TheMovieCouple, Wendy's shirt was appropriate. I wasn't aware of Amandla Sternberg's choice of dress at the premiere, but after watching the first two episodes it makes sense: she was repping the dark and light side of the Force, like Wendy's shirt =) It was disappointing to see Carrie-Ann Moss's character getting removed right away, but let's face it, she was the biggest name the show had. Removing her, allows others to rise. I'm happy to see Star Wars giving the lead Jedi role to an Asian actor. Aside from Jedi Master Depa Billaba and Sabine Wren we don't have many Asian Jedi or force users. This move feels a little like the recent Kung Fu Panda movie, replacing Jack Black with Awkwafina--he had his run, and now it's someone else's turn =)

My expectations were so low and this surprised me, i Liked the way The Accolyte started, now some ppl that saw the 4 episodes said third episode is not good as these two episodes but the 4th is just like the first and second episodes so lets see how it goes cos i enjoyed

There’s a very obvious tele about them the moment you see Osha the 1st time. Also, the voice at the end is very familiar. Even the cadence is very “where did I hear that before?”

Silly to get upset because a popular actor's character was killed off early. That's the story they are telling.

I thought it was a strong opening, I did get the impression from interviews that Carrie Anne Moss was more a cameo role, but didn’t go as far as the murder mystery is about her character……

I think the 4 Jedi (tried to) execute a defeated and unarmed Mae. In the opening scene, Andara says Jedi don't attack unarmed assailants. Mae says yes you do. So, the 4 Jedi maybe decide Mae is too dangerous to live. Like when Mace thought Palps was to dangerous to just imprison. Anyway, maybe the 4 Jedi do it, but cover it up so they're not kicked out of the order. They could have even started the fire themselves to make it all look like an accident. They just screw up, Mae lives, and is out for revenge.

Judging from the scenes from the trailers and promos, it’s more complex than what we think and even the voices to Osha’s flashbacks indicate this. It seems more that Mae tried to attack the Jedi to stop what she thinks is the Jedi wanting to take Osha away. There is also something more with the mothers and possible mind control going on as there’s scenes of one of the 4 Jedi’s eyes go dark just like young Mae’s did in that dream sequence. I don’t think it’s as straightforward and as the Jedi tries to execute Mae, there’s some more trickery or misunderstanding that happened.

Pip being a 'pocket droid' feels like a deliberate design choice to enable merch sales, a lot like Lola from Kenobi, and I'm absolutely here for it. Also, I suspect we'll see the pilot droids appear in a Disney Star Wars ride at some point. Such a clever way to represent 'autopilot'.

I like how Pip’s size and functionality allows for a lot of uses. Might be for merch sales but it feels like a droid that makes sense for what it’s used for.

I enjoy the different opinions and thoughts on it! :) I thought it was great too, breath of fresh air and what Star Wars needed. If there is not so much lore that can be f***ed up, it can be told more freely and new. I liked the Jedi order back then and how they are everywhere in the galaxy as keepers of the peace as we've been told. And I do think we might get a Yoda cameo but I really hope they don't heavily rely on old stuff, they don't always need to. I feel like Star Wars is such a vast galaxy or even universe, that there is so much space for new and exciting stories, that are not related to the Skywalker timeline. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it! Excited for the next one!

The opening crawl mentioned this was happening about 100 years before the rise of the Empire, so we could easily get Yoda at some point. We could also get Plageus (sp), but they might want to avoid too many direct connections to the Skywalker Saga to keep this as its own thing.

@@AndrewMcColl Yes! I do think so too. From what I’ve heard, Yoda was the grand master of the Jedi order at that time so it would make for a good wholesome cameo. I don’t think they will get too much into the Plageus thing, just because I don’t think that the writers are THAT much into the lore and it seems to want to be its own thing to a degree. :)

Love the first two episodes. The intrigue makes you can't wait to see what happens next. I can't wait to see who the Master is.

THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! Getting an actress of that caliber and killing them off in the first episode is to show that no one is safe in this show and just so you know there was more footage in the trailer of Master Indara in flashbacks

I haven’t seen it yet but I’m glad there are good reactions to it, because the true Star Wars fans were trashing it before anyone has seen it!! All because they don’t like Kathleen; they overdramatize the “woke theory”; or simply just trashing the universe because it’s on Disney!! SMH. It’s crazy PR like that will crush a show because of an audience agenda

Only watched the first episode so far, but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Plenty of aliens (as you would expect pre-Empire) and everything has that familiar 'grimy' feel. The only thing that's getting me down is the online 'noise'. Any time the show gets mentioned, the naysayers and performative people appear to "share their views" at length. It's getting to the point where I don't want to engage with online discussion because I know I'm going to go full Wookie in the comments and type some inappropriate things.

I am glad your enjoying the show for what it is and not trying to join the non sense hate train that any Star Wars show that has Any women or people of color is "Bad".

I'm really enjoying the show so far with these first two episodes. Osha and Sol's relationship reminds me of what Anakin had with qui-gon and also later on with Ahsoka, and I'm liking Dafne Keen's Jecki character. Also can't help but think of Ken Watanabe when i hear Sol talking, and I did not see the twin sister thing coming

@@TheMovieCouple my wife and I did chuckle at the notion of a 'youngling' taking on MF Trinity who's known kung fu longer than they've probably been alive.

I'm happy that you guys are enjoying it, but I personally was bored out of my mind the entire time and don't really care about any of these characters. All the other Star Wars series I was much more invested in and actually having a decent time at the start. Won't be watching the rest of this show, especially when other shows have started off well and then fall off a cliff by the end.

I wish i hated Starwars so i could enjoy this
