LYRICS
Bulls--t season no longer in sesh
We're here to the resc
What a f-----g mess
X-rate nursery rhymes on pillars of hype
Heard with the eyes
We are not allies
Our purpose is appearing
To balance what we're hearing
Inside of this stream of piss
We're the abyss
Hit record
Shut the f--k
We're filling voids in shape of us
Balls are blue
Full of true
Got a load to save all you
I'm not naming names you know your name
Pawns in the game
S--t ass hall of fame
Total eclipses all over you bitches
Full f-----g moon
Dark side facing you
Our purpose clearer each day
To show a better way
Inside of this stream of piss
We're the abyss
Hit record
Shut the f--k
We're filling voids in shape of us
Balls are blue
Full of true
Got a load to save all you

I'm an older guy and musician who grew up listening to Frank Zappa and I remember how many people didn't appreciate how incredible his music was until way after he had left us..... I would hope that people truly appreciate the genuine genius of this band and Louis right now because this music is really unbelievably exceptional in craftmanship and execution !!! Way ahead of our current time Louis but much needed now !!!

I don't know about Jaco pastorious. Jaco took more of a lead role as opposed to supportive. Mono is playing much more subdued and supportive on this track. I prefer his covers of knower songs where he is making more of an upfront statement, flipping the script w his bass being more like a lead instrument like the great jaco did w joni mitchell. More melody less bottom. I also love monos own music. This is mono playing super controlled. his covers of knower songs are more more closer to Jacos outside the box support the bottom while taking more of a lead melodic approach.

in the spirit of what the song is about (I think) this is what happens when you put highly motivated highly talented musicians together. no soul vampire execs in offices writing bleed-you-dry contracts, locking in earnest and talented sell-outs who only really wanted to share their gift. non label music will never die, no matter how big and legal the labels get, because there'll always be people like this in a house like that, fucking crushing it.

Who ?
Technical masterpiece of grooves.
Mononeon and Louis locked w/ that bass line + that bass drums and drum breaks, the overall funkiness, the cleaver chord changes Genevieve's beautiful vocals and melody, the quirky lyrics, Sam and Rai's short but killin solos, the spooky cryptozoology video references, the now classic hallway settings, all combine to give Knower an unmistakable artistic and sonic personality.

@keenanpepper
Жыл бұрын
@@user-ff5yt5dy2h I didn't do it myself but I asked GPT-4 to give an interpretation. It's spot on, and the only deficiency is being too timid at really explaining the explicitly sexual stuff ("balls are blue" / "got a load"...): These lyrics have an abstract and confrontational tone, and interpreting them can be subjective. However, I'll try my best to give an interpretation: "Bullshit season no longer in sesh / We're here to the resc / What a fucking mess" - This could be speaking to a perceived time of deceit or misinformation ("bullshit season") that the singer believes is now ending. They're ready to step in and rectify the situation, suggesting they feel it's chaotic or in disarray ("what a fucking mess"). "X-rated nursery rhymes on pillars of hype / Heard with the eyes / We are not allies" - This may express a critique of culture or media, perhaps suggesting that society has been exposed to explicit content or messages ("X-rated nursery rhymes") through media that's overly promoted ("pillars of hype"). The line "heard with the eyes" might refer to consuming visual media, and "we are not allies" suggests a conflict with or rejection of these entities. "Our purpose is appearing / To balance what we're hearing / Inside of this stream of piss / We're the abyss" - Here, the speaker might be saying that their purpose or mission is becoming clear: to counterbalance the negative or harmful messages in society ("stream of piss"). They see themselves as a contrasting force ("the abyss"), possibly implying depth, mystery, or even fear. "Hit record / Shut the fuck / We're filling voids in shape of us / Balls are blue / Full of true / Got a load to save all you" - These lines could be an invitation to listen or record what they have to say. "Balls are blue" may be a metaphor for frustration or anticipation, suggesting a strong desire to convey their truth ("full of true") which they believe has the potential to benefit or "save" others. "I'm not naming names you know your name / Pawns in the game / Shit ass hall of fame / Total eclipses all over you bitches / Full fucking moon / Dark side facing you" - These lines sound confrontational, and might be aimed at people who the speaker believes are responsible for societal problems. "Total eclipses" and "full fucking moon / Dark side facing you" could imply that these people's time of power or influence is about to end, and they will face the consequences or hidden aspects of their actions. "Our purpose clearer each day / To show a better way / Inside of this stream of piss / We're the abyss" - Here, the speaker reiterates their purpose of standing against the status quo and striving to show a better way, amidst the same metaphorical "stream of piss." The repeated chorus of "Hit record / Shut the fuck / We're filling voids in shape of us / Balls are blue / Full of true / Got a load to save all you" may emphasize their determination to make their voices heard and their belief that they can bring about change.

My goodness! The rhythmic section blew my mind away! The fill on 2:43 caught me off guard and I almost fell from my chair! You've done it again, guys! Love ya!
That fat base note that Rai throws in at around 2:26 just makes this song. Crazy to say, but if you have some good headphones or are playing this at appropriate volume in the car, you feel it. I don't know anything about music, but it has "gravitas" compared to all other base notes in the song.
