thats because we at least for me and the youth speak lots with shortcuts, she speaks very exaggerated slowly almost like come on say what you wanna say!! xD, street interviews are still very clear because some could be nervous (like me) to be on camera. But with time you get the hang of it

I know of some South American languages that use verbs like to stand, sit, lie down, jump as well to represent a durative. Instead of representing the position one is in while engaging in the activity, they represent the approximate length of time one takes to carry out the task. Jumping for something that occurs instantaneously or for a few seconds, stand for something that takes up to a few minutes, sit for something that could take up to a few hours, and then lie down for something that takes a day or more.

Oh my god. Dank je wel. Duolingo accepts durative translations for general statements. I am glad 'aan het' exists so I don't have to go around saying general statements for what I am doing. Though it looks like I'm going to have to learn more about the position verbs, because I don't understand how they were functioning in these examples.

Kim, een vraagje--- 1. "ben jij nou weer allemaal - does this not means what are you now again, ---- eating again(nou weer ) 2. Ik was nooit of - instead of I never do the dishes - I never clean/wash the dishes (want je hebt -was- gebruikt)

you might consider doing what they do with the Easy Dutch videos, i.e., put both Dutch and English subtitles at the bottom of the videos. Dutch is a much tougher customer for English speakers than, say, French or Spanish because English is full of Latin based words derived directly from Latin itself and from Latin through old French. This seems not to be so much the case with Dutch and German. With these languages we need all the help we can get.

I’m not doing that for a reason because many students don’t want to see English subtitles, since they distract them :) and others don’t want to even see ANY subtitles at all, so they practice only their listening skills :) so people can choose between nothing, English or Dutch (and for many videos even Arabic or sometimes other languages)

Dat klopt als er een werkwoord met een vaste prepositie in de zin staat, maar dat is niet het geval in deze zin, dit is een andere constructie. Je kunt hier dus geen “waar” gebruiken :)

Leuk video juffrouw . Waneer kan je een video uitleggen over Someone /anyone/everyone /No one and also another 2=video about everywhere/somewhere /anywhere /no where and a derde 3 video about something /nothing / anything /everything only those 3 videos🤣 Mishcieen in de future
