had the jim or gym in leather. remeber making ollie patches out of old shoe panels. the old pictures make the airwalks look like moon boots. im pretty sure all people hated the way i dressed. t-bags w/airwalks is so "cringe" pft

I had the Elissa Steamer etnies back in the day .. I was a sucker for any one who rode under the Tum Yeto umbrella back in the day .. they had mountain boot tread , metal loop things for eyelets that literally tore holes across your grip tape , and they were made out of some weird hemp material instead of suede lol! I got made fun of hard in high-school every time I wore them .. and this was in 2002! When everyone was wearing puffy moon boot globes, Osiris, and Es’s!!

I recently picked up some Vans Sk8-Hi Anaheim Pandas and the off-white colour mixed with the pink sides looks absolutely awesome. But after seeing this I kinda want those in clown-shoe. Just imagine how fast I'll be able to push off my longboard with that W I D E nose.

I love the d3's I have 2 pairs. To be fair they're damn near unskatable but comfortable as all hell!

I had the D3 2001’s in 2001. Dropped a hundred bucks on those puppies so I could flex on the rival skate crew. Them monstrosities were quite the conversation piece. The tech specs on the box, fantastic touch. Helium in the midsole? Absurdly redundant

No wonder I progressed so much faster with the Vulc revolution of the mid 2000s 😂 could actually feel my goddamn board!

Dude, when I was in 7th grade (2002) Vans released a "Pro Model" line. The logo was a circle graph divided into 5 areas, colored in fade from black to white. I can't remember the name of the model, but I am sure it was Vans' answer to the Osiris D3. It had the same super puffed profile, three black stripes going down the side of the shoe and an air bubble cap on the toe. I'd give *anything* to have those bad puppies again, or find any info about them at least. Hell, I'd be happy by just watching a picture of them.

Savier were actually a really good shoe, me and my pals had a few pairs each. forward thining in the long lasting toe area and no stitching. so I completely disagree with that comment

The air walk office’s were in my hometown in the 90’s they would throw out garbage bags full of brand new shoes in the dumpster. I would sell the ones that didn’t fit me at school . I had snowboard boots and and bunch of shoes. After a while they caught on and started drilling holes in the souls or cutting them up

I haven't picked them up to see how heavy they are but the Louis Vuitton shoes I saw in the store are weird. If it's anything like the other shoes they're heavy af

@@romeisfallingagain Yeah they sold pretty well for me, I always pushed brands that cared about what I was doing, which meant I never got to stock trendy brands. Sens/Axion/Savier sold so well then. Sometimes having a shoe that you can only buy in some pokey little hidden shop is peak fashion.

I own the airwalk Jim shoe at 5:00 in that same color. I always wanted the patent leather ones Robin Williams wore in jack. I'm a big fan of the airwalk one and the Jim shoe. I even own a staple airwalk shoe.

I had a pair of saviers, they weren't that ridiculous looking and I don't even remember how or where I got them, but they were actually really good to skate in. and they came with a bottle opener key chain that got some heavy use in my rebellious teenage years

I can understand why vans ventured to make other kind of shoes in the 80s. Skateboarding was almost dead in early to mid 80s. The sports shoes market was dominated by other brands and vans almost went bankrupt. When I started skateboarding in the early 90s, airwalks were the choice as they were affordable. A pair of vans could buy you almost two pairs of airwalks.

I liked Savier, my mate had a pair and said his feet sweated buckets at the fabric wasn't breathable, they were also a cover for Nike apparently

Hey now I had a pair of world industries lol they were actually comfy and descent for skating on a budget lol

I Frankensteined a pair of shoes from materials from skate shoes I retired once, one of my friends wanted to buy them off me and give me a pair of Draven slips. I had to decline the offer because it took about three weeks to assemble properly with function and skateability. I used to mend dress shoes and boots for Red Wing. 🏆

OMG I remember when I saw Nike swallowing the skateboarding market I joked about Vans making football/soccer boots. I could never imagine those were real. Gustavo Scarpa should check these out

I had the all white gym low. Flimsy sole. I broke the nose off my board kickflipping a bump and my front foot rolled forward. My foot folded completely in half. Broke 5 bones in my foot and had a cast for the summer and the fall semester Jr year. I never owned another pair of airwalk.

Did I rocked the Airwalk Velocity hightops with the lace savers and later on the D3s !! F*ck me right ?? 🤣😂 I would still wear both of those !! But I never was cool anyway .. thanks for making it more obvious Levi !!! Take care
